Kosta provided an initial quote but no final quote prior to the embryo transport being undertaken. He assured us that the final amount would be in range of his initial quote, instead of sending a final quote, which we foolishly accepted. He then sent us an inflated final invoice (AUD 2200) just prior to embryo delivery at the receiving clinic, and refused delivery until this was paid in full. Payment via bank transfer, so no recourse for refund. Extortionate tactics! Do not accept an open quote!

Do not use this courtier. Please read all the feedback and reviews if you are looking to book with Kynisi couriers. The same happened to me with a quote given and then this quote changed significantly once the embryos were picked up and there was significant delays in delivering the embryos with poor communication along the way. Not worth the stress of using this company as it appears from all the negative feedback here that this is a regular occurrence

KYNISI repeatedly rescheduled with my clinic. The initial delay occurred when one of their clients offered a premium, leading them to prioritize that shipment over mine, despite having already confirmed the pickup. This rescheduling happened multiple times afterward. KYNISI's handling of the situation was irresponsible and unprofessional, and the overall service was poor and dismissive of client needs.

Kosta Kios (the owner of this scam) is an incredibly disrespectful, rude and nasty individual. He takes no accountability or responsibility, and he lies - plain and simple. He is clearly the type of egotistical individual who believes the world owes him everything. Proven by the fact he has stolen money from us.

It took 5 weeks for him to finally write back to me. I sent 5 emails, called him multiple times – every time he ignored my calls, as he is a wimp of a man and is screening my number. When he did reply he wasn’t apologetic for not responding to any of my emails. One of my emails was simply asking for clarification on the 27th of March as to why he said he could deliver samples between two clinics when one clinic emailed and called me telling me they would NOT release anything to this company. Another email was simply asking for our money back on 30th of March since KYNISI is not able to provide the service we need, the service he lied and said he could fulfil.

We have NOT received our money back as of this moment. And he did NOT provide the service.

He believes he is entitled to steal from us and not fully refund us, trying to spin utter lies that he can take fees from our deposit for his time. Laughable. What about my time chasing him - not a concern to this selfish man. He sent an incredibly lacking response blaming the issue on me, the IVF clinic and not once taking any accountability for lying, misleading or not responding for 5 weeks. I will say it again - he lied to us that he could transport our frozen samples, however one of the clinics will NOT work with him (they have banned him). He also said (as an IVF courier) that people going through IVF often use their treatment to act unhinged. He is referring to me demanding our money back as unhinged, its utterly disgusting. He lacks any sensitivity or professionalism. Devoid of any compassion or care. He does not care about people, he cares about scamming you out of money. He is not honest.

Do not waste your money or your time on this nasty individual. He is the lowest of the low. I would be happy to discuss our experience with anyone (and share the proof!) so that you do not get conned as well.

AVOID!! Lack of communication / response is appalling. All out for money making and not customer satisfaction. Avoid at all times, promised a refund for work that wasn’t going panned and undertaken and then ignored all communication there after. Not mentioned anywhere in terms and conditions!

Avoid at all costs he will take your money no communication and then not show up and not even pay you back I have had to take this person to court to get my money back there are so many other credible companies doing the same thing
His company is not even legitimate and has been closed by companies house and he was reported on rip off Britain for his antics really avoid

Kosta from KYNISI provided us with an amazing service. Everything was perfect with them since the initial communication. They’re reliable and trustworthy for such an important job. They did all the communication with the starting clinic and the final destination clinic a very easy and secure process. Would highly recommend them to anyone seeking to transport genetic samples from coast to coast.

I'm really grateful with Kosta and his team for making possible the impossible in no time. However, it would have been great to know in advance that lab results and extra copies were needed. The delivery guy was asking for papers just before going to the airport. Therefore, I think there should be more formality in the process. But, once again, we are very grateful and happy with the service.

I was recommended KYNISI by my clinic to transport embryos from the USA to UK. Really personable service & my embryos made it in perfect condition, I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with the result! Would definitely recommend.

I have nothing but good things to say about kosta and his team, he was recommended to me and after reading bad reviews I was in two minds on using them, but I’m so glad I did.

He promised a quick, fast, safe delivery for my embroys and did exactly that!! Every email I sent kosta he was fast at replying and put my mind at ease no problems! :)

DO NOT USE. I’ve appeared on BBC1’s Rip off Britain about the gross negligence of this company. Please watch it before using so you don’t have to endure the turmoil he has created for so many of us.

I did one job for Kynisi as a courier, transporting embryos between Australia and New Zealand. Whilst the training and formalities were detailed, well documented and supported, sadly after finishing the job I wasn’t paid what I was owed. Because of this I feel the company is unprofessional and can’t be trusted.

Kosta has basically used the same extortion and racketeering tactics as described in previous reviews. This is very REAL. Please take our feedback seriously and use other more well known cryoshipping companies. Kosta is basically asking you to write a blank cheque.

MO:
1. He sends a quote lower than competitors.
2. Phones within 1 hour of quote to discuss costs. Proceeds to ask you to accept a significantly increased amount (20% higher than original quote). Says that this increased price takes into account any Covid incidental costs. His language and tone is to get you on side.
3. He says delivery will take place within 2 days. He sends an invoice for deposit with no record of agreed final amount.
4. Once deposit received he goes radio silent, doesn’t reply to emails, text messages or voice messages.
5.When he finally surfaces (for a brief moment) he proceeds to lie about his whereabouts and travel plans and before you know it you’re in this crazy nightmare desperately chasing him.
5. He goes radio silent again (we think he does this make one feel even more desperate).
6. Almost a week later he makes email contact and gives you very little information and more excuses (none of which can be substantiated even if you call him on it). If he doesn’t like your questioning he just ignores it completely.
7. After further radio silence and when he thinks you’re about to to cancel, he notifies you that he’s on the flight and making his way for delivery.
8. Less than 24 hours later he is suddenly demanding 40% more than the original quote and threatens to charge you a penalty amounting to 11% of original invoice (on a daily basis!) unless you agree to pay the final amount immediately. He refuses to deliver before full payment is received.
9. He then proceeds to tell you he’s the only “firm” able to deliver during Covid times so good luck finding someone else. He also sends you a fabricated table with associated costs. He does not provide you with any expense receipts or actual proof of expenses. He tells you he’s had to take more flights than expected and uses travel restrictions for this - yet he is unable to provide travel tickets proving this.
10. He finally delivers when you pay in full but he leaves it to the last 30 minutes of the day (just before the lab closes).

He is utterly despicable, preys on the weak and basically holds you to ransom before delivery.
He uses extortion/blackmail to get what he wants.

Words of advice:

If you are currently in this situation or thinking if using him, cc your clinic and preferably your specialist in all emails. The only thing he cares about is his reputation with the clinics as this is where most of his referrals/recommendations come from!!!
We did this. As a result, we managed to receive confirmation that he has actually arrived at the clinic. If we didn’t CC everyone, he would have insisted on prepayment in full prior to delivery (despite the delivery already being 2 weeks overdue and no idea whether he is actually on his way or has even arrived at the destination). Hold your ground!!! Do not give in.
Ensure your clinic knows that they are not to email him without you being CC’ed as he likes to play everyone up against each other. Keep everyone in the loop at all times. He doesn’t like this as it forces him to communicate. He is slow to reply because he has to think about all the lies he has fabricated! For example, he says he is in flight when he is actually at the quarantine hotel (he made up some elaborate lie to cover his tracks when we caught him out).
He likes to discuss any new or additional costs verbally or via direct WhatsApp messages, never via email. So get everything in writing via email with other parties CC’ed. Do not take phone calls from him - tell him to email you instead. Be explicit.
Speak your mind but remain professional. He doesn’t like this.
Be upfront about not agreeing to any changes in terms and conditions or additional costs without notification and proof of expense. He uses the Kynisi terms and conditions and lack of communication due to travel as a reason to justify why he can charge any amount. I would ask him to agree on no more than a 20% variance to what has originally been quoted and write that agreement in the consent forms when you sign it. If he doesn’t agree then you know he’s scamming.
This guy is a DODGY. Be very careful, sharpen your negotiation skills and be prepared to loose your deposit with a plan B.
Ask your clinics to read the reviews and not recommend this guy!
PS - Kosta when you read this please don’t respond with more fabricated lies as everyone can see straight through you. Everyone can also see the lengths you go to in order to maintain an average review score.

Shameful business practises/tactics, preying on couples/people who are trying to conceive.
Never responded to my emails in regards to detailed information about the shipping.
Demanded payment for the deposit. Wouldn't even send confirmation of the deposit received. (Let's not even get into the huge price discrepancy from what was initially quoted).
The worst part was failing to notify that our specimens were to be transported in the same shipper as other unknown specimens!?!?
Other couriers do not combine differing fertility shipments. This is especially problematic in this pandemic era. Plus who accepts liability when there are multiple specimens?
This was never disclosed to us by Kynisi/Kosta and we were only informed by our lab who notified us that this was what they were trying to do.
They never responded to any emails
They never shipped anything
But they sure kept the deposit.
Despicable humans.
Heartbreaking to take advantage of vulnerable people.

Kosta Kios @ Kynisi is a fraud, compulsive liar, extortionist, and in our situation, an embryo hostage taker. How we wish we would have seen all these reviews before enlisting his services.

If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy courier to transport the most precious cargo in the world, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If other companies quote a slightly higher price, go with them. Trust us – the extra cost will be worth it. The experience we had with Kosta and Kynisi was one of the most traumatic experiences of our lives. But wait!, you might be thinking. What about all those glowing reviews of his services? Is this some sort of Jekyll and Hyde situation? The reality is a bit more mundane. We have serious concerns that many of the positive reviews are illegitimate. Kosta is a slippery fish and we’d place good money on the fact that he writes many of the positive reviews himself.

We have reported Kosta and his company to the UK Fraud Office, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). We have also sent a copy of this review to the UK investigative journalism show ‘Watchdog’, so that they can investigate further. Suffice it to say, our clinics in the UK and Australia have both vowed to never use his services again. We consulted several lawyers during our debacle and were minutes away from involving the Australian police and Border Force. This man is a two-bit scammer -- run, don’t walk, away!!

Short summary of our experience (Tl;dr):

After reading a series of recent reviews across a range of websites, a clear pattern emerges with Kosta’s “bait and switch” business model. We summarise his business model here:

1) Kosta will quote a lower price than his competitors and initially be very responsive on email.
2) He will then ask for a deposit.
3) Once the deposit is paid, he will become very difficult to contact via email or phone.
4) He will also not contact the relevant clinics involved, even if they repeatedly email him asking for an update.
5) Eventually, after much stress and repeated emails and phone calls, he will finally give you a date.
6) The date he gives you will come and go, with no contact between him, you, or your clinics.
7) The date/flight details will then keep changing and he will not inform you or the clinics of these changes.
8) He finally turns up in your city/country and demands over twice the price that was originally quoted, without any written or verbal warning.
9) He demands payment immediately for the new, much higher price, otherwise he will not make the embryo transfer. If you don’t agree to pay the new amount immediately, he threatens to take the embryos back to the original clinic.

This is extortion and racketeering. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is exploiting people who are in a tremendously vulnerable situation, one in which the chances of having children rest on the safe relocation of embryos. He preys on people’s desperation to have children and the very tight timelines they are working with. He relies on this vulnerability to make outrageous demands, and if such demands are not immediately met, your embryos are in jeopardy. We found his behaviour to be disingenuous, borderline sociopathic, and the exact opposite of professional. Our hearts go out to any individuals or couples who don’t see these reviews and engage his shoddy services anyways, for you will end up somewhere between disappointed and devastated, just as every other legitimate writer of reviews of his services can attest.

We wish we had the space in this review to provide all of the specific details. In short, it became clear that Kosta was using disgraceful tactics and taking our embryos hostage until payment was made. Our Sydney clinic was completely outraged by Kosta’s actions and wrote directly to Kosta to say that they would never be working with Kosta again. This is a direct quote from an email sent to Kosta on 18th November:

“After this situation is hopefully resolved we will refuse to work with you, furthermore won’t be supplying your details to any of our incoming or releasing patient ever again.”

We took legal advice on the situation and our lawyer was appalled at Kosta’s behaviour and recommended various places that we should report Kosta to including the ACCC. At this stage, we were moments away from calling the police. We knew Kosta was in hotel quarantine in Sydney and we knew the Border Force would escort Kosta to and from the hotel. We were desperate and outraged by Kosta’s behaviour, which we felt must be illegal.

He violated his own Terms and Conditions and he suggested that our signed agreement was just a draft!

Avoid Kosta and Kynisi like the plague, like COVID-19 and like your frozen embryos depend on it, because they do!

Very smooth and efficient experience, job done.

After being let down by another provider and despite all the challenges of travel in the current Covid-19 environment, we found the service at Kynisi beyond excellent. Kosta was in control from the first time we spoke, arranging and managing the sample transfer to our US clinic like clock-work. Thank you Kynisi.
