Kobo’s native software is terrible for reading PDF image files, even installing KOReader doesn’t help. This is why the unit was returned. The refurbished Elipsa unit works good.Ordering, returning and customer service was top-notch. Unfortunately I had to return the Elipsa because the software doesn’t work for me.

Downloaded a book for my Kindle to try and avoid using Amazon, downloaded the file, couldn't get it to work on my Amazon (couldn't convert the file type) now they won't give me a refund. Completely rubbish customer service.

I got this as a gift for my husband, and he's in love with it.

The whole process of deciding whether to get a BW or Colour (Clara) and then it arriving at the door and furthermore signing in and immediately recieving my previously purchased ebooks ready to read, was excellent.
It's early days, but I have no reason to be doubtful, it's a great book (opted for BW) and lightening fast compared to my old Kobo.

Overdrive and library integration makes this so much better. I decided to switch to the kobo platform and was moving away from Kindle. Overall the device has been really solid and even though overdrive integration does have some quirks, I still think its quite good. So much so that I got a device for my wife as well.

This is my 2nd Kobo; had my original Clara for 7 years and took it around the world with me until it finally died and was not repairable. The Clara Color is even better. I was thrilled how fast and easy it was to get it set up with my Kobo library and all settings, and had no problems getting it synced again with my Calibre library as well as with OverDrive and Instapaper, and I love having color images. I haven't tried the Bluetooth audiobook feature as I usually do audiobooks via Libby, but may consider trying it for books not readily available at my library.

I’m very happy with my Kobo Libre. I was concerned that all of the features that distinguish Kobo from Kindle would be difficult to use or not work well (local library access, uploading other ebook files) but all have been super easy. I wish I’d made the switch sooner, I don’t understand why Kobo isn’t at the top of all e reader reviews. It’s a far superior product, with 100% better service support.

Product arrived pretty quickly considering it was coming to NZ from Australia.

I ordered and received a new reader. Unfortunately it froze after only 4 chapters. This is what happened with the one I already had. I do not have very good luck with Kobo e-readers. If I didn't have a lot of books on my reader, I wouldn't get another one.

I recently purchased a Kobo Clara BW, in large part because it offered an already-installed public library app (Overdrive), as most of what I read is from my local library. Well, the app doesn't work for my library -- version are out of sync -- & the workarounds offered by Kobo are equally unsatisfactory. My new Clara BW is good for ordering books from the Kobo store, & not much else.

This is such a great product! highly recommend for anyone who wants to read their Kobo in bed or anywhere tbh. The team behind whoever created this product needs a pay raise for sure!!

It was easy to find what I wanted and go through the purchacing process.

Delivery was direct and the item arrived a day earlier than stated, which was perfect as I could use the Ereader when I went into hospital the next day.

Buggy, confusing connection to libby/overdrive

Product is lightweight, convenient to carry, easy on the wrists. It's very easy to use and the cover improves the experience overall. Highly recommend to anyone!

1. Far too many emails
2. Was going to join a "frequent reader" subscription only to find that 2 of 3 books I started with were not available
3. Just clicked on a sale book but it wasn't on sale once the window opened
4. I left Amazon for Kobo, bought a reader and hoped all would be good

I'd rather pay a little extra for a product that's not actively hostile to their users, so Kobo is an easy recommendation in that regard. The ecosystem is open and supports third party ebook formats and even custom firmware.

Works as desired. Simple.
