Inflexible attitude bad for the environment

A poorly designed chair meant that the rubber armrest covers failed after little use.  The company refused to send me _just_ the replacement rubber covers, but instead insisted that they could only send me a pair of full armrests at a cost of £205.   This is an example of the inflexible company attitudes that are contributing to the high levels of unnecessary waste and consumption that have an adverse effect on the environment.
