Second time of dealing with this…

Second time of dealing with this company for MOT/service work and I am well pleased with the results. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris the Service Manager, good communication, fair prices and quick turnaround. Couldn't fault the service.

Avoid KH Motorcycles at all costs.

Avoid KH Motorcycles at all costs.

I rejected an Aprilia Tuono Factory V4 within 30 days under my legal rights in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 due to multiple serious issues including a charging fault that left me stranded and needing recovery. The bike was so unreliable it would not even start when it came to loading it onto their own van. It also had a wheel block fitted incorrectly, a broken screen, and a questionable gearbox.

Despite all of this, I was told it was “rider error.”

They will put the bike through their own workshop and simply tell you no faults were found regardless of the issues you experienced.

Instead of honouring a proper refund, KH Motorcycles tried to reframe the situation as a buy back to avoid their legal obligations. I was effectively forced to sign paperwork confirming a £500 deduction just to receive my own money, falsely presented as if I was selling the bike back to them.

On top of that, I lost over £430 in courier costs using their own vans, plus additional money on cancelled insurance and road tax.

The pressure tactics were unacceptable. I was threatened with storage fees, given ultimatums and repeatedly told payment was conditional on signing their version of events.

To make matters worse, the staff you are dealing with are the directors themselves, a father and son, which makes the way this was handled even more concerning.

What says it all is that the bike, an Aprilia Tuono Factory V4, was put straight back on their website for sale the moment I was refunded.

I also cannot ignore how dismissively I was treated. Being told clear mechanical issues were “rider error” raises serious concerns and as a woman it is hard not to feel that I was not taken seriously from the outset.

While I did eventually receive a refund, it came with stress, financial loss, and what felt like bullying throughout.

This company shows a clear disregard for consumer rights and accountability. If anything goes wrong, expect a fight.

Take your business elsewhere.

Desmo Nightmare!!

I purchased a beautiful looking 2013 899 Dicati Panigale from this lot last September 2025 and dealt with Leam. At first they could d not do enough in terms of communication. On the day I went up there to collect the bike I felt something was off. Despite them seemingly friendly I felt the whole;e process was very rushed and should have known. Took the bike, rode it home, no issues. Two days later the service light comes on despite them telling me that bike was put through a full services days before I collected it. Basically this was the dreaded Desmo service. Unbeknown to me the bike was sat on 14800 miles, Desmo is due at 15000. Yes im at fault for not doing my homework but I think the dealer does have a duty of care in these cases. Ontop of that Leam stopped responding to my whatsapps that he was good at. So this cost me an extra £1500 but thankfully the bike so far is a dream,KH Motorcycles though, a nightmare!

Had a really positive experience with these guys. Anthony was sound, as was as ?chris - boss man (sorry poor memory for names).
They sorted a few issues thats just a thing with bikes you don’t know. No quibbles and even went the extra mile for me with bits.
They made the experience of looking at bikes nice and easy and the guys in the garage were friendly too.
Look forward to coming back for the next experience.
Thank you all!

Horrific .. once great🥴

Horrific ... Now laughing watching them trying to sell awful bikes that left me stranded on the roads a year or so back and they still can't sell them ! They should stop being greedy and focus on customer service, back when they did it was a superb dealer 🤔🤦🏼

Absolutely great experience

Absolutely great, a very relaxed experience with no pressure to buy at all, I simply went in to browse on my lunch when working locally one day and had a great chat with Nicola, not once did she push me towards a sale, i did however but a bike and it’s been magnificent.. I got a great part ex deal on my previous bike and the new bike was ready to collect on the agreed day less than a week later, ready for the bank holiday weekend.. no issues with the bike, the staff or anything, I would defo revisit if I wanted to change bike again..

Absolutely buzzing with my Suzuki…

Absolutely buzzing with my Suzuki Intruder M1800 that I've just purchased from KH Motorcycles. From start to finish Ryan was brilliant very friendly and straight up, and he made the whole process really easy. I live in Ireland, and had the bike delivered straight to my door without any hassle. It rides like a dream and puts a smile on my face every time I'm out on it. Couldn't be happier and would 100% Recommend KH Motorcycles if your looking for a new bike.

Be aware

Well here's the experience we had with kh motorcycles Sandiacre, purchased an aprilia v4 tuono from them ,communication was okay at first ,rung up to see if the bike was ready ,but was told they was waiting for an o-ring to be fitted, finally got a call to say the bike was ready for collection, I went to pick the bike up,and noticed it had a new rear tyre fitted, happy days ,i never checked to see if it matched the front initially, but when I got the bike home ,I realised that it was a cheap replacement, not a metzeller m9rr which was on the front,i messaged them on there WhatsApp page to see if they would be willing to replace the rear tyre to match the front ,but no reply ,I then rang them and asked, if they would replace it for the said tyre above, only to be told that instead of them contacting me to ask if I would like the same tyre as the front putting on ,the tyre technician of 30 years experience decided he would choose a tyre, (he isn't the one riding the bike,i am) if I wanted the same brand tyre they would do me one at cost which I reluctantly agreed to which was the sum of £185, not happy with there service, what really annoyed me is ,my brother inlaw purchased the same model bike from them ,and he stated he wanted a like for like tyre on his which they did put him on a pirelli diablo, so why would they do for one customer and not another ,I think it is diabolical I was charged for a tyre when my brother inlaw wasn't, if anyone happens to deal with this company ,please look at the bike first and state what you would like first or you won't get an option to ,as they won't ring you whilst doing the pdi checks or answer any messages, I won't be buying from them again

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Misleading Mileage, Poor Communication, and Unauthorised Changes

I purchased a Benelli Leoncino 800 Trail from KD Motorcycles after seeing it advertised on AutoTrader. The bike was shown with 155 miles, aftermarket handlebar mirrors, and LED signal lights — exactly how I wanted it.

From the start, things were off. When I first viewed the bike, I asked to check the display for mileage, but was told the battery was flat. I was assured it would come with MOT and service, so I went ahead and signed the contract.

After that, communication was almost non-existent. Days passed without updates. I had to visit the dealership multiple times in person, only to be told the bike wasn’t ready. On one visit, I was told — without any prior notice — that they were removing the aftermarket LED lights and replacing them with stock ones.

When the bike was finally ready (after further delays and being made to wait over an hour despite having an appointment), I started it up and discovered the mileage was 735 miles, not the 155 miles advertised.

This whole process felt misleading, unprofessional, and frustrating from start to finish. Between the undisclosed mileage discrepancy, removal of aftermarket parts, and lack of communication, I cannot recommend KD Motorcycles.

Purchased a used Aprilia Caponard

Purchased a used Aprilia Caponard , cash no finance. Waited a week for it to be ready for collection. Plan was to head of to Europe on a grand tour, ferry and everything else booked. Did about 150 miles locally to get used to it and had some extras fitted. After 100 miles into my trip I got a terrible misfire, causing it to cut out when going slowly through towns etc. Eventually it became unridable. KH suggested finding someone close to me to check it out or get it back to Nottingham.Tried 10 different bike shops within 20 miles of me to get assistance, no one interested To cut a long story short the bike was taken by recovery back to KH and I took the train. The next day I was told by a very nasty Branch manager that there was nothing wrong with bike , it was my riding style?! It had been road tested and found to be okay. Two days before ferry, no faith in the bike or dealership. KH Offered to buy it back at a 700 pound loss to me which reluctantly I took . They took advantage of my tight timeliness and ripped me off.Branch manager stated he was happy to resell the bike again (as is) to someone else. Not a good experience with a guy who has all the gear and no idea. Stick with brand dealerships, not KH. As a side note, Chris in the workshop was awesome I bought a bmw rt on ebay that night and am 2 weeks into my euro tour and no problems.😀 Update:- after telling me there was nothing wrong with bike and they would put it back in the showroom, it appears on ebay at another dealership in Harrogate. Deal with K &H at your peril. RIP off merchants.

Too good to be true ?????

In March I spotted. BMW Gs 1300 at one of their stores . I had good communication with Nic who was sorting the deal out for me so everything seemed to going well . Skip to day after delivery and I was not happy with the clutch operation . Contacted KH and again good communication and ended up speaking to their warranty dept . I’m a distance buyer so of course it is awkward sorting anything out . The bike itself had Non functioning clutch switch , a siezed exhaust flap and annoying clutch to which I complained whoever did the PDI check didn’t do a good job , another thing to mention is no history of work invoices done to the bike from previous owners . All in all communication was good but have not really got anywhere with them and my 3 month warranty will be up very soon , annoying because my trade in was sold within days with nothing wrong with it

Unfortunately not a great experience……

Unfortunately Iv not had a great experience with dealer with this seller.
I recently part exchanged my motorbike in with this seller, I waited around 1-2 weeks for the new bike to go through the workshop to be checked, mot’d and serviced.
I paid to have the bike delivered to me and my part exchange to be taken back.
The new bike arrived with the chain so slack you could almost lift it off the sprocket and was making a horrendous noise, so I had the chain adjusted and the noise continued.
I contacted the seller who then counter complained about the bike id part exchanged in, apparently i sent it with a cracked screen and damaged nose cone, even though it was inspected before it was taken from me.
I only did around 35 miles on the bike in total and the oil light came on.
So I called the dealer to discuss, so I decided to take it to an independent BMW specialist local to me who carried out an inspection at my cost, and they deemed the bike unsafe to ride, had no oil or coolant in it and would jam up when free wheeling and that, in their opinion it had either not been through a workshop or was sent out broken.

I was told initially by the seller that I’d have to pay to have the bike returned, so I rejected the bike in order for it to be collected.
The seller had to do a return inspection to make sure there was nothing ‘’untoward’’ before agreeing to reverse the deal, it was found that the bike had catastrophic gearbox damage so they agreed to reverse the deal.
I got my bike retuned after a week only to find that they had either kept of thrown the original Kawasaki zip up softshell wallet, key rings, brake fluid cover and datatag paperwork. All I had returned back to me was a plastic wallet with the service book in it, despite being told prior to buying the bike that everything that comes with the bike will go to the new owner.
The screen was cracked and the nose cone was damaged, this damage was not present when it left my possession.
I had to wait several days for my refund, which caused extra stress as I wasn’t given a time scale of when I’d get my money back.

So all in all, this experience has costed me around £350-£400 and lost 3 weeks of riding and a lot of stress…

Unfortunately I have to leave a…

Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review for this dealership.

I had agreed a purchase and placed a deposit with an agreement to have the bike delivered to Northern Ireland.

When they called to finalise payment I was only then advised that (despite
accepting credit cards) due to a previous fraud they were subjected to they would no longer accept then via telephone and any credit card purchase had to be in person. I offered to mitigate this by providing identification checks, utility bill, video call etc however was told I would be required to attend in person.

A miscommunication of course, so I then stated that maybe it's best we just return the deposit and we go our separate ways. KH Motorcycles refused to return my deposit even citing that I didn't tell them I wanted to pay credit card. Well, the reason I didn't tell them was because their advert clearly states they do accept it, and does not say it is accepted only in person. It wasn't until I said that would pursue legal avenues for return of my deposit as they were not clear in their advert did they return it, along with an immature and unprofessional remark about how they don't want to sell to "people like you".

I am appalled by the lack of customer service and it os clear that KH Motorcycles rely on volume, selling hundreds of bikes to stay afloat. This is NOT the same service you get from good, small dealers with a strong emphasis on providing a good service.

I can only urge anyone to avoid this rude and generally unclear / shady company.

I traded in my 09 plate Harley Fatboy…

I traded in my 09 plate Harley Fatboy for a 17 plate Fatboy with KH m/cs at Mkt Harborough, a deal was agreed that suited us both but before the bikes could be exchanged mine developed a couple of problems, I told the staff at KH about it expecting the deal to be called off until I had them sorted but was very surprised and utterly delighted when I was told that the deal was still on and not only that but they would carry any cost for repairs to my bike, how many dealers would do that, come on, be honest?!! They said that because I was honest and upfront with them and not tried to hide anything that they were happy to!, a few days after the exchange the new bike developed a battery problem ( blown cell) K H picked it up from my home, fitted a new battery, checked everything over again and even fitted a new charger lead to the battery all free of charge! I had offered to pay or share costs because of how fair they had been with me over my old bike but they wouldn’t hear of it, genuinely appreciated guys!! My new bike is running great, I’m a happy bunny and I can only say good things about K H and the brill staff, would i shop there again? Absolutely! Would i recommend them to others! Absolutely yes I would!

Bad sales

Angry to put it mildly. A deal was agreed and in writing in the usual way on a Moto Guzzi V100. Details provided by a polite lady sales person. I was standing by to pay cash in full by BACS when in her absence one of her colleagues called me to test my commitment. Telling me that the deal was for trade only. Utter rubbish. Time wasted and misleading information. Please look out for these kind of tricks when dealing with this company.
