JVC smart tv from Currys - avoid!

Bought a JVC smart tv from Currys 2 - 3 years ago. Recently it won't switch on without unplugging and plugging back on. They when you turn it off it stays on, or goes off and comes on again. So annoying - a bad deal

55in JVC Amazon Fire TV Keeps switching off, having a blank screen, at first about six months ago it was just now and then, but now its every few hours, then it started switching itself on at night.When it first started happening I just reset it. Now its 4/5/6 times a day. Really ridiculous, I have even have extra warranties on it. I want a FULL REFUND. I have had enough!

JVC TV... Think well before you buy

A couple of years back we bought a JVC 32"Smart HD TV for the spare room. The tv has been used very little, a couple of days ago I looked into the room and the TV was on, very strange I thought, I switched off and went out. When we returned the tv was on again, only the fantoms were at home, I checked online and the advice was to unplug it and to make sure the remote control was clean. I did all that but now the TV does not work and on the bottom right side of the screen some dots appears that cannot be controlled. Called the help line and some advice was given but it didn't work. I was told to take it to Curry's but they could charge me £125.00 just for the check up. So I will have to "help" saving the planet and put it in the rubbish.

Bought a JVC smart TV 9 months ago. Biggest mistake ever. Problematic from day 1 and now won't connect to WiFi and remote unresponsive. Blue light flashes but tv does not respond. Another trip to the dump this weekend.

Do NOT buy JVC TV

Please avoid as per other reviews. Purchased at Currys, half the time Netflix doesn't work, or stutters, honestly absolutely rubbish. Even normal tv takes ages to load. SO FRUSTRATING WASTE OF MONEY

Don't buy. Absolutely rubbish.

I bought a jvc 55 inch TV from Curry's. Within 14 months horizontal lines began to appear. Then vertical lines and then the sound went. It was difficult to switch on from the remote and took ages to load. Sometimes it would switch back on after it had been switched off. Sometimes it would switch off by itself. The delivery men told me to send it back with them as it was a crap TV. Wish I'd listened. Lesson learned, don't buy cheap £350.

The worst tv I have ever owned

The worst tv I have ever owned. Since we bought this tv two year ago we have had problems, originally thinking that it was our internet but no - 2 years in and we are buying a new tv which will not be JVC. None of the apps work correctly (buffering or missing half of the picture) and what is worse - basic tv channels don't work half the time. It will completely cut off the picture for most channels or go very pixilated. It will state that it is an audio program when it's not. The only channel that seems to work consistently in BBC 1 and that has recently started to faulter too. Avoid, avoid, avoid. I don't know how this company can 1) get away with this and 2) is still going reading these reviews. Simply awful.

Worst TV we have ever bought - waste of money

We only have a picture on the top 2/3 of our two year old TV. Repair men in our area say it isn't worth repairing JVC models as it would cost as much for a new screen as buying a new one. They say it is a common fault.

By far the worst TV we have ever bought.

Worst purchase ever

Bought JVC LT-40CR330 Roku TV 40" Smart TV from Currys - only had it a day and it’s the worst TV I’ve ever had. Wish I’d read the reviews first, but got suckered by the discounted price. Picture quality is average at best, but the sound quality is truly appalling. If you like listening to everything from down a phone - and not a nice modern iPhone, but a 1970s wired bakelite rotary one - then this is the telly for you, if not, spend a few quid more and buy something that doesn’t stress your brain to try and hear it - and yes, I have tried adjusting the audio settings but they all sound “tinny”. Shocking quality. Going back to my old not-so-smart Toshiba. At least I can hear that one.

Have had my JVC Smart tv for over a year and can honestly say was the biggest mistake I have ever made .Wont pick up internet even know WiFi box is near channel change takes forever most nights watching tv then screen goes blank it is so annoying very slow response on remote as I said about internet ended up hard wiring it in my opinion stay clear.

Bought a 49" LED smart tv

Bought a 49" LED smart tv, and then a 32" for the bedroom, less than 3 years ago. Minor problems with the big 1 from the start, but then 3 months ago it stopped connecting to the internet. Then 2 months ago it suddenly kept saying no channels found for any terrestrial tv. We started watching the small 1 instead, and after a couple of weeks it did the same thing! (We also have an older LG tv in the dining room, this still connects to everything perfectly). The big tv then began showing discoloured horizontal lines across the top 3rd of the screen. Both TVs a complete waste of money, I'll never purchase JVC again.

Worst TV I have ever used.

Wifi is constantly buffering, I even bought a wifi booster which made NO improvements. Constantly crashing, some apps just will not load.

More times than often the screen will go black and the only way to resolve this is by switching the tv off at the wall.

SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

My other TV which is about 12 years old is far better.

Awful TV

This is the worst tv I've ever had. So slow. Apps don't load a lot if the time. I can't change channel with remote. Have to go on TV guide and scroll to channel then press OK It's really awful. Please don't waste your money on this.

I have a JVC LT-43CA890 (43 inch TV)

I have a JVC LT-43CA890 (43 inch TV). I have run it for over a year now and I wish I had never bought it!! Sometimes it won’t switch on from standby, with either the button under the screen or the remote control. I have to switch it off at the wall socket and power it up again before it will respond. Very often it locks up and I have to unplug it and power up again to restart it. It’ll lock up while watching. Sometimes I can go to settings, apps, see all apps, go down to the app (channel) that I’m watching and clear the cache and then reopen the app. Sometimes I also have to do a restart and then clear the apps cache again. Go to settings, device preferences, about, select restart. I have had a meal go cold while I’ve been messing about trying and retrying to get the blessed thing switched on. I hope this saves you from a shed load of hassle. Regards . . . Andy

Rubbish

JVC smart TV 42" - slow, crashes all the time, can take 2 minutes to load to and a further 2 to launch an app like NETFLIX. It often has to be reset to work or load, but it ha and always will remain slow. No software updates available to fix.
