I have done garden with their external lights. There was about 120 light fittings with great potential to expand. We used most of the models they had by the time. On of the models Luca were expose internal moisture even before the fittings were connected. I was trying to solve the problem within warranty time but they refused liability and said there is a fitter fault and moisture is delivered to the light fitting by the wire. Shocking as the connections are done in gell filled junction boxes. Any other models are fine and no moisture problem and they are fitted same way. After warranty time I decided to repair them myself and concluded that the design is good and very detailed but factory assembling is really poor and most of the moisture was delivered by the glass joint at the top of the light fitting (they used silicon and aplication was very poor), the joints are not tight enough and the seal at the wire entrance is cracking or not attached either wire or alloy case. Thay also not selling parts and only ofering repair service but that is not a big problem as everything is available from other suppliers and even better quality for much less. Ie led module made of Osram led cost £6 when JC light fitting cost £200 each. Reasembling light fitting is max 30min time. Even they are having good design I will never buy anything from them.

I sent John Cullen a picture of a wall we were building to a new build that’s almost complete.
I haven’t heard back in almost a month now.

They obviously don’t need the business.

John Cullen lights are very expensive and very poor quality. We spent £13k on their lights, and they are gradually breaking one by one. There is clearly an underlying fault with the polespring lights, ours have been in 3 years (2 yr guarantee) and then they start flashing and then pack up completely. I have contacted their customer services but they wouldnt give me a free replacement and i had to still pay 40% of the full price 10 lights have gone so far, I expect all to go over time as this is what seems to be happening, very poor don't buy. In contrast i put cheap spots in all my children's bedrooms and in a few other rooms and they are fine!!! In addition to them charging me for the replacement lights I have to keep getting an electrician out to replace them. It has just made me so mad as now another 2 lights have started flashing today so i will have to repeat the process again, I wish i had never put them in Very disappointed!!

High end lighting company. But rather low end service. Barabara was the design/sales consultant that we engaged with. They bundle in the design given the prices of the product, but be warned that you insist on all details. for our deck lighting we got into a real mess as barabara did not indicate clearly the measures of where the lights should be installed eg. distance from the wall and distance between the light fitting etc. and then since the holes on decking were further out than they should have been she even decided to charge us for creating a tilt in the light to manage for the incorrect holes. there is no escalation, no one picks up the customer service phones !

The product is great , have a new account/rep sales, Ray who took over from Barbara.

Reasonably responsive, product was was delayed and be particularly careful of delivery, we got 2 floors done maybe 40-50 items ( each light will be 3-4 discrete things like face plate drive, light engine etc ), they will start streaming stuff to you and if you dont have some one managing it , you will struggle to know what and came and when - they are though generally accommodative if you tell them something is amiss. they did inordinately delay a product - anyway that is the story of al products nowadays - just buffer in a LOT of time !

Also you need to 100% make sure you dont have electricians or builder who will not carefully read the product and manuals and ask a lot of questions - else they will waste time and money for you - the products are NOT run of the mill do not assume their dimensions, fitting etc. are as one would expect for another product and depending on your sales person you/your builder may or may not get enough advice, proactively.

is it worth the premium each unit is atleast 3X the best comparable product, the product is quite unique and good, given these kind of products go through trade it is really difficult as an end customer to figure alternatives.

i will update this once the all the lights are in and the scene settings are done, Ray has been responsive and helpful.
