With Handling medication bare hands

I was very disappointed with the service at this Jean Coutu centennial plaza. The pharmacist handled my medication pills with bare hands, without wearing gloves or using any tools. This is not hygienic or professional, especially when dealing with medication that people ingest. I expected higher standards of cleanliness and proper handling from a pharmacy.
If there were zero star I would have given it to them.

Terrible And Unacceptable experience at…

Terrible And unacceptable experience at the Jean Coutu store in the Plateau area of Gatineau - I spent over an hour with cosmetics staff, showing my own products and requesting help to find the same items in different shades. Upon leaving, a man—claiming to be security but with no uniform, badge, or visible ID—publicly accused me of suspicious behavior and demanded to see my personal bag.
Despite my innocence, we called the police. I fully cooperated, and it was confirmed that no theft occurred. Instead of apologizing, staff implied I should have opened my bag without question to avoid suspicion. I was left humiliated and degraded in public.
As a long-time customer, I consider this treatment unacceptable. Security personnel should be clearly identified, and staff should maintain professionalism and respect. My formal complaint to Jean Coutu remains unanswered.

Excellent Pharmaceutical Knowledge

My family and I have been coming to this Jean Coutu pharmacy for over 20 years, every visit has been a five star experience. Ph. May Balkan is not only professional but also genuinely caring. Her entire team is exceptional - especially Ph. Mary Kartalian, Ph. Gabrielle Saikali and Ph. Chris Kaplan. Their knowledge is outstanding, and they are always patient, attentive and willing to address all my needs and numerous questions. I am very pleased with their service.

Discrimination at its best! The lady named Vickie, came to me claiming that I have been in the store for more than an hour. Truth is im just there less than 30 mins. I asked her if its not ok to stay in store for more than an hour? She said because I am carrying a bag. I'm not the only one in the store with a bag. She is suspecting me that i am gonna shoplift so i got upset but not yelling.I asked if she saw me putting anything in my bag she said it doesn’t matter I just need to leave. I told her that i felt discriminated. And instead of explaining she left me. I spoke to the manager and he told me that the lady did right because I am irate even if I explained what happened. I even asked him to pull camera and see himself what happened.Instead of saying sorry or investigate first or atleast give me the benefit of the doubt he told me that Vickie is working there for so long and she knows what she is doing. Then now using their right to refuse service to anyone as excuse for asking me to leave. I almost cried. Instead of owning to their mistake the manager use their right to refuse anyone. He even told me that I know legal process so I can go ahead and do it. Jean Coutu, is this really how you treat people or just because of my color?

Inflexible policies - trying to alienate long-time customers

I bought a container of eyeshadow from my local Jean Coutu. I have been a customer at this store for 21 years and even worked in the lab for a few months. I mistakenly bought the wrong kind of eyeshadow and realized this as soon as I got home. But since the container was open, the “responsable” in cosmetics refused to take it back for a refund or an exchange. I understand they can’t resell it, but for the sake of customer relations with a customer they have had for years, she should have taken it back. Severely unimpressed and will no longer buy cosmetics here.
This was at the branch in Pont-Rouge, QC

The Worst!!

Now the cherry on the pie was having a full blown argument about a prescription format for my autistic boy. He takes vivense 40mg AM with a 10mg booster in the afternoon… the 40mg always comes in (1) capsule… people with autisic children can confirm, taking medication is the worst because of texture etc. I show up to pick-up my prescriptions that I called to get prepared… still not ready next day (of course)… then they hand me 20mg capsules instead of the 40 mg for the mornings… I drive back through the drive… explain to the pharmacist that maybe for normal people 2 capsules of 20 is Samson’s as 1 40mg… but for someone with autism, the fact that you doubled the capsules to take makes it a sh&$@it show, asked to change… I was basically mocked by the pharmacist, to the point where I got angry and his solution for the best possible way to help was to laugh, hand me back my prescription and tell me to get the script modified and that the fact that my son couldn’t handle 2 pills was not “his” problem… all whilst smirking in my face about me being irritated🤯🤯🤯 total piece of sh$&@it to say the least. Safe to say will not be going back and complaint is being filed with the Ordre des Pharmaciens du Québec by myself as well as my doctor.

Dehumanized I would give them a zero cl for…

1675 St Catherine Street West
I would give them a Zero customer service tonight from security and manager and cosmetic clerk she told me to wait twice went and served other customers and when I asked for the product I wanted she said get it yourself before telling me to wait a second time I waited 30 minutes for her while the big security guard shadowed me very uncomfortable and quite frankly scary…. everyone else was amazing until now …I enjoy shopping at this my favourite pharmacy I could not believe how the cosmetician treated me and the manager as well the security I had a legitimate concern that my card identifies me when I enter the store the bell rings and all I have on me is my bank card why is that????? When I enquired they grab the product that I paid for scanned it as if I didn’t pay for it then she got upset when I told her the manager she had a misunderstanding… starting to think shopping on line is far superior. The security of my bank card was received with no sympathy and the security guard told me good night meaning he kicked me out of the store …. Why can’t they find better people to work here ???? And want to say it’s racism but it doesn’t matter no one deserves to be treated this way even if it happened to these miserable employees…we are all human… After the manager tried to start a physical fight with me as she was provocative invaded my personal space made agressive faces at me … I was scared and I asked the security to translate because I thought he he understood but the two security and the manager tried to gaslight me and make it seem I was the problem when it was clearly the manager and the security… The remainder of staff watched in shock and were kind to me after they told me to come back tomorrow and speak to another manager…. What was in the coffee of the manager the two security guards and the cosmetician the contrast in behaviours was polar opposites to the staff at the front desk and check out…scary people at jean coutu… I was worried about my personal safety..,,,

Worst jean coutu pharmacy in Montreal

The jean coutu pharmacy at 237 cote vertu is most unprofessional pharmacy. First you're put on hold for long time and when someone picks up the phone, mostly they don't know the answer to your question and again put you on long hold and then disconnect the line. That's what happened today. My prescription medications are finishing tomorrow and usually I speak with Mr Ahmad who is the only good and very helpful person and until now all others have been mediocre. Coming back to today's experience, I called and asked for Mr Ahmad as usual but the lady told me that he's very busy and she can help me. I told her that I sent a revised prescription for 2.5 mg of cortef through their delivery guy last week which was earlier 15 mg and I wanted to be sure that 2.5 mg of cortef is included in the blisterpack for morning dosage. She put me on hold and return after 5 minutes and told me 15 mg of cortef is in blisterpack and I will receive my medications tomorrow. I repeated to her that I had sent 2.5 mg of revised prescription to them and to please check up and let me know that the reduced dosage of cortef is in the blisterpack. I waited on phone for 12 minutes and phone got disconnected. I called again and after 7 minutes she came on the phone and I repeated the same question again and now she hung up the phone. Frustrated, I called the third time and after 6 minutes someone else picked up the phone and I repeated the same question to which she said that she will answer me tomorrow. How difficult it's for them to answer this basic question I fail to understand. Then I requested her to be connected to Mr Ahmad and she said he's not on duty today. I'm so frustrated with their should I say lies that I don't know whom to believe; the first one who said he's available but busy or the second one who said he's not on duty. Honestly, this isn't the first time about this problem, it happens all the time I call them. Either they're not well trained or just don't care. The worst customer service in this jean coutu pharmacy. Earlier I was with jean coutu pharmacy at Pierrefonds/ saint john corner for more than 10 years but not even once I had any problem with them and that's the best jean coutu pharmacy in Montreal.
Besides the above problem of today there are other problems in jean coutu pharmacy at 237 cote vertu Montreal like they don't give one month's prescription at one time like my previous jean coutu pharmacy at Pierrefonds/ saint john corner, this pharmacy gives only two weeks prescription medications at one time meaning I have to remind them every two weeks for prescription medications and they send it only on the last day when you have finished your medications this inspite of my requesting them that often I have medical appointment on that delivery date but no positive response from them to deliver it a day earlier. Again, whenever I call and ask for the name of the person I'm speaking with they're either hesitant or refuse to give their name which never happened in my previous jean coutu pharmacy. I had to change the pharmacy because I moved from Pierrefonds to my current address. Last week when I was speaking with the pharmacist about revised prescription for cortef even she didn't give her name. Many times when I'm speaking with a pharmacist during weekend for any questions even she refuses to give her name saying she works only once a week. My point of asking for the name is only in case of any problem with their service I can tell them whom I spoke with. Again, I think the reason for long waits on the phone is that they're short of staff all the time. Again, the quality of blisterpack is below medical standards because whenever I press it to take the medication, the paper sticks to the bottom making it difficult to take out the medications and I never had this problem with my previous jean coutu pharmacy. The only professional person in jean coutu pharmacy at 237 cote vertu is Mr Ahmad and also their delivery guy. Mr Ahmad goes an extra mile to help and solve my problems but he's not there all the time. Besides he works only in the afternoon and mostly not during weekend. I hope they had more professional people like Mr Ahmad

cant afford to sell upscale cosmetics

They sell upscale cosmetics. I wasn’t dressed nice and I was accompanied, but that’s not a reason, nobidy came to help me, as I entered especially to purchase my foundation that I ve been faithful to for years. The cosmetics girl was talking ro someone, so I was waiting and trying on the tester shades when someone came at the cosmetc’s cash, facing us, and started playing staring contest with my boyfriend. I asked if there was someone to help me so that I could buy my foundation amd go on my way, but he smirked at me:” i can’t im watching you: How disrespectful. tried to hide his name tag when i passed him by, knowing it was not the behaviour he should have had. then, so angry, we had to be escorted out. i will never go in any of your stores again. you can’t afford what youre selling, then dont”

I usually dont go to hean coutu

I usually dont go to hean coutu , I prefer Pharmaprix, but the ither day I had no choicr causr that was the closest store where I was at that time, I went to the makeup section and that lady in that section screamed at ine of the customet “ MADAM YOU CAN NOT TOUCH THE ITEMS” and that customer was very embarrassed first of all the testers are there to test and second of the its not written anywhere in the store that u cant touch the testers. How would people know they cant touch the testers, if u dont want ppl to touch testers then write it down. And the lady could go to the customer and say politely bht she had to yells infront of whole store, I will never go to jean coutu again, it was the jean coutu at Contitnantal plaza, Des sources in Dollard-Des-Ormeaux in Quebec
