Taekwon-do is a dynamic and spectacular martial art known for its incredible techniques and explosive speed, and if you're looking for a way to develop your speed, fitness, and flexibility this is the martial art for you! Taekwon-do is a Korean martial art that came to the form now known across the world in the mid twentieth century when pioneering Masters travelled the world to spread the art. Taking some of it's background from ancient Korean Martial Arts such as Soo Bak Gi and Tae Kyon, as well as Karate, Taekwon-do differentiates itself by it's range of kicking techniques. After being recognised as a martial art in 1955, Taekwon-do arrived in the UK in 1967 when Grandmaster Rhee, Ki Ha set up his school in Coventry. The power of the style of Taekwon-do makes it ideal for Self Defence, but it's more than that - within PUMA we have a broad syllabus that combines the traditional techniques and forms with the "sport" element. Indeed, a form of Taekwon-do has been an Olympic sport since the Seoul games in 1988. Taekwondo schools in Hungerford, Tadley, Thatcham & Pamber Heath Teaching ages 4 years and up in a safe and fun environment.

My son started his Taekwondo journey with Mr Cooper as a 6 year old little puma and has carried on for nearly seven years now progressing well.
Mr Cooper has instilled a work ethic and a discipline that my son uses in daily life. There is not a quick route to black belt here, there has to be dedication, perfection and the right attitude to progress. This itself is a valuable lesson in life, if you cut corners you don’t progress. From the sidelines I’ve seen people come and go, if you have the right attitude, will and determination to train hard, Mr Cooper is the right man to guide you through.
On a different note the monthly pricing is fair and you are only requested to buy further equipment when it’s really needed. There are loads of opportunities to train techniques all over the country within puma as well as regular camps and tournament’s. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Puma, Mr Cooper and all the other instructors.

I've trained with Mr Cooper for several years. He is very knowledgable about taekwondo, and is very encouraging and supportive to his students. The classes contain students at all levels, with different capabilities and limitations, and Mr Cooper adapts his teaching to get the best out of everyone.

I have been doing Taekwondo for over 14 years (I’m only 19) and I’m still going strong! Taekwondo is not only a great way to keep fit, but it also introduced me to a new mentor with Mr J. Cooper. From day 1 I have been supported through his Taekwondo school and he has helped me overcome fears, develop a stronger character and build me as a person. Mr Cooper is a mentor with so much knowledge of the world. In these classes I have learnt so many things that I can take into the real world as well as my Taekwondo knowledge.
I’d highly recommend his schools. Especially in Tadley and maybe I’ll see you soon too!
5 Star Review.

Jason Cooper Taekwondo is a great way of keeping fit, learning new skills and improving self confidence in a safe and secure environment. The classes are fun and I've enjoyed the training with younger and older students. Regardless of ability and fitness I've always felt welcomed and would recommend it to anyone who is unsure if it's suitable for themselves. Give it a try!
