Intruder is neither smart nor ethical…
Intruder is neither smart nor ethical as a computer security service.
They hammer the servers they scan an unreasonable number of times (up to 48 000 hits on the SAME port in one night). This gets them blocked by everyone who's competent at server management. This also gets them published in abuse IP databases. The worst thing about this is that they use amazon compute for this. So they are getting IP addresses that other people are using for legitimate purposes blacklisted and blocked. So those legitimate users will experience periodic and nigh on impossible to debug service interruptions. If a reputable company came up with the block-headed idea of performing such a scan they would at least use their own servers.
At my company the IT security people have had to contact everyone who manages servers to tell us to unblock intruder. Annoying, but that doesn't help all the other innocent and uninvolved users with no connection to this bad actor.
