dreadful experience

Everything was going well, until a few days ago , access to account suspended no contact from indigogo contact them just sent an email no response from them since.dreadfull service from customer service.i will not receive a reply from them,

Poor Customer Service

The quality of support was poor. It took eight months to receive my item. I made the purchase with Indiegogo and when the owner of the campaign stopped communicating I had no where to go. I reached out several times to inform Indiegogo, all to no avail.

I will never make another purchase through Indiegogo and I will discourage anyone that I know.

Account was locked/suspended for…

Account was locked/suspended for suspicious activity when I changed my debit card. Unfortunately I had just purchased a $400 perk and my account was locked so I couldn't log in and never got a receipt or confirmation of my purchase. Reached out to customer service and got an automated response for with generic reply. 2 days later Indiegogo reached out to me and corrected everything! My account was restored and I got confirmation and receipt of my purchase! Thank You Indiegogo!!!!

Deceptive, Untrustworthy, Unethical, Waste of Time

I really wish I had checked the Trustpilot reviews before spending two full days building my campaign.

Thankfully, I tested their eCommerce process before sharing my campaign link with nearly 5,000 people—that could’ve been a complete disaster. I would’ve spent the next two months explaining that “tips” go to Indiegogo, issuing partial refunds, or trying to help backers clients get their money back.

Reasons to stay away:

1: The 25% automatic tip in checkout experience that goes toward indiegogo's 'undisclosed initiatives' is totally unacceptable. Be transparent, where does these scam tips actually go? This tip scam is similar to leaving a tip for a server at a restaurant, and then the owner of restaurant comes along a swipes the tip. Very unethical.

2: The refund system for the perk is clearly broken. After clicking the refund button, the screen stays frozen and greyed out—this has been ongoing for over 24 hours despite trying multiple browsers. If this issue isn’t resolved immediately, I’ll be contacting my credit card company to issue a dispute. Frankly, this platform is coming across as highly untrustworthy.

Your greed will be your downfall.

I supported the campaign "Bowio 2.0: Light Up Your Reading" in April 2024. After nearly a year of missed deadlines and evasive communication from the creator, I demanded transparency and a concrete delivery plan. My request was completely ignored.

Without my explicit consent, the creator processed a unilateral refund that I never requested. Indiegogo not only allowed this arbitrary action, but also washed its hands of any responsibility.

Indiegogo does not supervise or enforce even basic standards for campaigns. They simply act as passive hosts, allowing creators to break deadlines, delivery commitments, and agreements with total impunity.

This experience proves that Indiegogo is NOT a trustworthy platform for those expecting seriousness and respect as backers. Once you give your money, you are completely exposed, with no real guarantee of fulfillment and no effective intervention from the platform.

I strongly discourage using Indiegogo to support any project. There is no trust. There is no protection. There is no accountability.

Horrible People

They are a bunch of scammer. They give an option to donate when paying for products, but they don't tell you are donating to them and not the campaign you are backing.

They also took 18x the amount I thought I was donating. I immediately emailed them and spoke to a person called Shannen to address the issue, which was a day after the unconsented withdrawal. After weeks of messimg me around they said the time for a refund had now expired. It baffles me how someone so brainless can keep their job....weeks of emails backward and forward and still can't answer simple straight forward question "how much was this 'donation' for?

THEY CHARGED ME 7 TIMES

THEY CHARGED ME 7 TIMES FOR THE SAME DONATION. I meant to donate $50 to my friend's film crowdfund, each time I clicked submit it said "couldn't verify card information" so I kept clicking. I log in to my credit card account and low and behold Indiegogo charged me SEVEN times using this deceitful tactic. I will be suing under consumer protection laws. Will NEVER use Indiegogo as a backer or campaigner. SCAM. FRAUD. DO NOT USE.

They support scams

They support scams. When reported, they do nothing about it. There's a clear difference between a scam and products facing development challenges but indiegogo doesn't care. Even worse, they say a "project is under review" but they just slap it on there to make people think they're doing something when they clearly aren't. They have all the information of scammers but do not help the backers. Stay away from Indiegogo unless you like gambling.

Zectron Bike

I wrote a bad feedback about Indiegogo. I specified very clearly that, after problems with Zectron Bikes, I sent dozens of emails to Zectron and then to Indiegogo but they (neither Zectron or Indiegogo) NEVER got back to me. As reply on this previous feedback they wrote: Please contact the campaign owner or us. UNBELIEVABLE. This is like an horror movie. You are scam.
After this answer that everybody can read here below, everyone can confirm that there are only words and words: I do not see any proposal to solve the situation with ZECTRON Bike I was referring to. I also wrote to your Customer Service hundreds of times but you DO NOT ANSWER AT ALL. So, the problem is still there. This bike Company disappeared, you got my money and I cannot solve the technical problems to my bike. Without a solution (refund or solution to the technical problems) I confirm every single word on my feedback. You invite bad companies to use your portal to take money from backers and leave them without a solution. You deserve a legal action.

Indiegogo = Highway Robbery

Indiegogo has NOT DELIVERED the only major contribution ($1000) which my dear friend’s campaign received (thus they are taking the lion's share, only giving him $200). They took the money from the primary contributor's account, claiming that they are "currently pending review by the Trust & Safety team"
(for their information, individual contributor number is 38387757)

Problem? The contributor has not received ANY message from them.

And now they are not responding to any messages to them complaining about it. I sincerely hope Indiegogo settles this matter promptly (it’s preferable that they return the money promptly to my friend’s contributor's account AND notify him that it's been returned) and this is the only complaint I need to write . . . and not the dozens of complaints I (and a veritable ARMY OF FELLOW WRITERS!) will write if they allow this injustice to remain unrectified.

SCAMS ABOUND

Was a backer to a campaign that kept being pushed back and the excuses kept getting lamer and lamer.
Tried contact Indiegogo support to let them know this was approaching scam like status, but website puts you in a perpetual loop. Campain won't respond, Can't even send Indiegogo a message.

Inadequate reply

Thank you for replying eventually, I am afraid that is clear from your reply that you are no further forward in showing any evidence of candor about this scam campaign. You claim that you are not sure which one I am referring too - How many scam campaigns are you dealing with?. My name is provided and it is not a common one.
You have not come forward with the outcome of your investigation and you advise me to reach out- though you do not respond to my direct messages.
This is about the neo PS1: Ultra-Short Throw Smart Projector ; Just for other users to be aware for fairness. I have paid over 900USD for 2 projectors and delivery- You have re-imbursed other contributors who claimed directly or through credit card charge back. I that other users will be weary of the level of support & honesty provided.

I have launched a campaign and sent emails weeks ago to update banking information that Indigogo has refused to respond to. Now it looks like I will have to tell my backers to dispute their donations with their banks because the website seems to be unlawfully holding onto my donation funds. How is this site still up? Indiegogo continues to be horrible

Indiegogo is a horrible, selfish company- stay away! I mistakenly tipped 200.00 and meant to tip 2.00. I reached out within 1 minute of making this error and heard nothing back. I tried again- still nothing. I initiated a dispute with my credit card company and it wasn’t until then that they responded to my email. I was told that if I withdraw the dispute they would refund me. When I did so I was told that the matter had to be escalated. Since then NO RESPONSE and I have emailed them so many times. Dishonest, selfish company with no morals.

Update: Indiegogo continues to blatantly lie. In their response to me regarding my initial review they indicated that a request for a refund of a tip can be requested at any time. Since then I have been told twice that it is being escalated. This has been occurring for a month. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Indiegogo! The response that was sent from them:

Fraudulent companies such as UZE

I have contributed in this website earlier and have received the products. But with contribution to firm called UZE, they took additional shipment charges (35 eur) apart from contribution (150 eur). The company is selling the products on their website but they are frauding it to contributors in indiegogo, it’s a open platform for fraud as there is no way to stop the scam. Just take people money, build and sell in website, but don’t send product one who contributed for project as backers. Such scam this is.

They just simple don't care about the campaigns, allowing spammers to get more, not answering questions, not getting back to you with answers.. Platform to receive money from backers and do nothing.

It is nice that in reply i can see request to contact you, i did it like 10times, each request was logged in your zen-desk, and then closed without any reply! And right now I am not even able to see those request in zen-desk, most probably my account there is somehow blocked.. I have mentioned that would be nice to write me at least something before closing the ticket, but no, it is always same, no response and request closed, and now i am even not able to see those...

So my conclusion is, that you have your money, and does not take care about backers at all.. Your choise, no problem with that, but for sure, I am done with Indiegogo for anything else in future ;) and would recommend that for all users.
