BEWARE of this Tax business in Arlington, Texas
2141 N. Collins St. #505, Arlington, TX 76011. This is my first time using this business to file my taxes. I called to verify what the fees would be and I was told that that information would not be available to me until all my papers were filed. Since I have recently graduated from a Graduate program, I knew the fees should not be that much due to me not having very many papers to file. I brought into my appointment: 2 W2s, 2 1099- MISC, 1 1098-T, 2 receipts, 1 1098-E, and one Excel spread sheet showing mileage. This took approximately 30 minutes and I was charged $732.90 in fees. There is a fee for E-file of $34.95, a tax preparation fee of $595.00, a document preparation fee of $50.00 and Transmission fee of $52.95. I was told that this entity charges $999.00 for 1099-MISC and $595.00 for W2s. I was also told that these prices are comparable to H&R Block. This is my first time filing taxes, and she knew that. I paid over and beyond what anyone should have to pay, especially not owning any property whatsoever. I was also told that I received a discount so I am not sure how much they would have charged me.
Also, this business uses a third party, refundo, to process out fees before your tax refund is given to you. There is an option to have direct deposit staright from IRS and then refundo will take out any fees that are owed.
