First FYI: Parents, this is not a "game" for people under 16!

Dumb, uninterested staff, awful mobile app, awful website(s!) layout and usually boring people in pretty empty rooms.
It has gone so downhill in the last couple of years.
Staff barely respond with any sense to tickets, it's half the time some generic copy and paste response.
I asked the same question 6 times and I still haven't gotten an answer, they just copy and paste the same "sorry the info didn't match".
The mobile app is missing more than half of the desktop apps SIMPLE features.
The website for IMVU is some heinous mashup of an ugly, outdated website that regularly redirects you to a newer, completely different looking site that's missing nearly all the features, tabs and options that the old one has! You would think IMVU has both the money and staff to merge and improve these websites already!

The graphics are pretty good, decent immersion but the rooms have really been getting empty in recent years, too many rooms being allowed to be made if you ask me and it leads to positive, chatty rooms being difficult to find.
It's an OK app that could be made so much better.

IMVU has really went over the line with their "verification" crap, like are you serious it has been over 2 weeks now and still they don't verify me as the owner of the account like what the hell I paid $25 for VIP and non of the staff members are helpful at all. Till this day my account is still under Account hold.. I've called them and verified everything but still they don't wanna even assists in helping me out. I've called my bank so they can cancel the order, hopefully they get my account off hold then but sadly I don't think that will be happening anytime soon, this is a warning to anyone that wanna purchase VIP for IMVU please dont buy it with your credit card, just get a IMVu gift card and they offer VIP within those cards without having to have your account on hold to verify ID, credit card info, etc. It's sad that IMVU never really tries to hear out there customers that's just trying to PAY FOR THEIR ORDER LIKE JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL. I've should've known better before purchasing... My friend had told me that purchasing a IMVU gift card can get you the same amount of VIP you need, after finding out I was furious and also sad that I didn't even know but hopefully somebody finds this message and take my info I have provided and use it cause I dont want anybody else out there getting there account token away by IMVU and maybe never retrieving it back like me :(

Not gonna lie, this game is fun for people who have couples far apart from their partners during covid. I was so excited to play it with my bf, however. I wanted to get the VIP membership to get more credits to experience the full excitement of this game, though the next day they asked me for I.D proof. I get because im overaged individual purchasing it but as for the proof they went way too far. What they ment by i.d they ment by your personal driver's license. I was uncomfortable sharing this type of information during this purchase because i don't want my D.L to be vulnerable in a way hackers can access it. Afterwards, i contact them and demand my money back. I also read deeper on why, andbits for " age verification " so I'm like, i get it its there type of security to keep minors from interfering with 18+ users. Yet minor or not they went way too deep try to enforce people into exposing more deep personal information to people. Not only they ask you for DL but if failing to attempt, they will make you do other methods like your Social security, DL, and passport. What's next my birth certificate. Oh hells no!! You should never EVER expose your personal information to any site that isnt involved with the bank or government( and i dont care if you're an adult). Really all of this information to a small fun yet mediocre video game. Why i never!! i feel as if this is wrong and immortal and threating to people's private lives enforcing us to show off this information so that hackers can doxx and steal no matter how this site is so-called "secure". I feel sorry for the people who got Imvu VIP. These sad people dont know who are they're giving information to. Never heard of a game that will force you to expose explict information to them, because they assume that you're a minor faking it to get in. I get it when you purchase like this in real life( minus the social security and passport,but only with driver license) but online Ohhh nononono they have lost thier minds!! I have never heard anything like this in other gaming sites and even a friend told me that Fakku(an adult anime site) never done this type of method before. Im saying this because im aware of hackers out there doxxing people with IMVU enforcing your Photo I.D, Social security, and passport for a virtual game and sadly no one is aware of this. never again!! Thats all of the Imvu Exposed tea.

In terms of avatar design and finding something that you like, it's amazing. There are so many friendly people out there, you just need to know where to look. I have been using IMVU for 7 years now. And yes, it has it's bad points. However, if you put in the time and effort, you will find friendly and like-minded individuals. The staff definitely could be more active and responsive though.

This is my view/opinion. Based on MY experience. I speak from my viewpoint and not IMVU as a whole, or in general for others.

Their support is full of people who are dumb as bricks...like from accounting to support like cmon these people ain't doing their job right stealing money and not claiming your paid products...2 times charged for a monthy subscription...didn't receive the credits had to prove that I am who I am by providing em my id my card and so on...I i assured am that my name is....gave em all info and still they kept asking like cmon I bet they are one of those people who can't name a country if they are asked too overall expirence of their support is utterly disgusting ...seen better support staff on garbage disposal pfff they are a joke after getting charged twice for vip my vip got revoked no refund lazy people 1000% getting paid for nothing I guess..thieving company only wants money doesn't deliver what is ordered!!

These scumbag motherf*ckers go through my files and apply them to the game so it freezes when I try to uninstall because there’s so much on it, absolute bs, and everybody is toxic and they’re always trying to bring you down

IMVU is discriminating against me by deleting my pictures that do not violate their Community Guidelines. I don't know what person is responsible for deleting my photos but so far, they have deleted about 7 of the same photo - all within an hour. I spend a lot of time and money on this platform and I expect to be treated the same as everyone else as they mention in their Terms of Service. During this crucial time of social distancing and isolation, I expect more from this virtual gaming space.

Scam. You have to pay for a lot of stuff and if you don't play regularly, they will just delete your account even though you've spent money on it and without any notice.

The customer service is insanely horrible. Honestly if you want your money stolen, your rights taken away and people being completely inconsiderate then this dame is for you! (Not really because no one wants that.)
Just recently my account that I have spent *real money on* was disabled and I wrote out a case asking to get my account reactivated and WHY it was disabled, they said they couldn’t give me any information but to SEND THEM MY ENTIRE ID WITH THE PHOTO, BIRTHDAY, SEX ETC ETC... like I’m sorry but there is NO WAY am I sending a complete random stranger my REAL ID!!! Does that even SOUND right to them????? There has to be an alternative to get an account back? And the fact they won’t even tell me why it was taken away? Completely disappointed!
Not only that but the game glitches, lags, shuts down and FILLED with hackers and fake websites that people can actually take your account with and if you put your credit card in the account? Guess what? Theirs now.
And if you DO get hacked and what the account back don’t even try to contact the service because last time my old account got hacked they threatened me saying - “Remember faking your info account results to the one your using now to be banned “ ... like... it’s MY account ..
besides if you call them to try and talk it out on their number; bad idea because they tell you to make a case and HANG UP.
Either way.. I’ve been playing IMVU for years and I’m so disappointed nearly every single time I have come in contact with the services and quality of the game. Just don’t do it.

Horrible staffs don't even help you avoid Max, Necolyne, everyone else except Ben and Aubrey are good. also what is this limit of looking up only 5 names for buying premium names?? This staff didn't wanna help me anymore and just puts down a limit on me

If you are inactive for a long time, the accounts will be deleted! And so all the credits are gone, I've had imvu since 2012 AND will never touch the **** again! since over 100 € are gone!

They will steal your money even after you cancel and delete everything. They know who I am.

Mostly like the app, but sometimes it crashes out of nowhere. I have good computer but it still manages to crash. Purchases are easy to make and credits come fast to your account.

I really love this app but I was just wondering if imvu can have an update of sharing videos 💓!

When purchasing a certain amount of credits or AP pass or age verification they force you to give your ID. Not every country is allowed to give our IDs to non government or bank officials. Infact WE could get in trouble for it and so could you and you / we are never supposed to take a photo or photo copy ID not others or even our own.

There needs to be another way another option bc even healthcards are not allowed to be copied or our countrys ID and not everyone has a driver license. I have disabilities and anxiety, I have panic attacks. I cannot legally drive.

Im personally paranoid about giving out such things laws aside because I've recently went through a whole issue of identity theft.
I do not feel comfortable or secure giving such info out to a non government official and im not supposed to according to my government either.

I do understand your position imvu I do. But this is not the solution that works worldwide.

Putting that issue aside I DO enjoy imvu, I have also spent money on the game. My one account is long gone because of this exact issue and i know I cant ever get it back.

Now as for the community yes there is toxic people yes there is creeps you just block, report, ignore if you give them a reaction they don't give up.

I don't have too much of an issue with the community I've met some of my best friends on the game. I do tend to stick with the rpers, furries and the geeks tho personally.

I do have some friends of the party goer and glamour groups too tho. Theres all sorts of people on the game good and bad but thats anywhere thats not even just the internet thats the world.

As for kids, those under 13 shouldn't even be on here. those 13 - 17 are seperated from those 18+ aswell so unless an adult makes an account faking being a kid or a kid makes one faking being an adult the ones teens are talking to is other teens.

and if your teen does make an adult account or your underage child who isnt even supposed to be on the game makes an account and if a parent is angry their kid is talking to adults well.. monitor and actually parent your kids maybe? it isn't imvus or the internets responsibility to raise your children for you. When I was growing up my mother monitored me and restricted the sites I went to like a good parent does and when I played online games she or my brothers had parental controls on. They also raised me not to give out private info so if your kid is giving out their address and playing games they shouldn't I honestly think thats a result of poor or absent parenting / protective / preventive measures.

Imvu is not the problem, the parents and the creeps both are.

I've been using imvu for more than 7 years.. maybe 10
in the first 6 years nothing bad happened.. so i'm completely fine with the chat and the rooms.. but not with the support.
I think it happened last year. There was a guy looking kinda noob(ish) and we started to talk. At first it was funny but he wanted to be more than internet friendship. He wanted something like imvu dating.. so i told him no. He went apeshit and started to following me to rooms saying curses, death wishes and dirty words. I blocked him.. but it didn't worked. I realised that it was useless because he still could follow me into public rooms. So blocking only disables him from texting me or inviting me to chat.
Later I met some people who have been bullied by this person so i told the support that there's this guy i'm flagging and reporting every day but nothing happens.. also my friends do the same and his acc still exist.
They answered me that they sorry, they gonna investigate.. but if i have personal problems with him and that's why i'm doing this they gonna ban me out of the whole system, because i bullied a user and i broke the rules.
So basically they didn't do anything just threatened me..

I registered 2 months ago, I paid for vip and was enjoying It with my friend. Then my account get hacked. The hacker was complitly changed my profile and pretending to be staff. When I realised I've been hacked I contacted the support and they answer me 2 days later that they disabled my account because I broke the terms... Also I paid for 1 month vip for nothing because I couldn't login to cancel my subscription. Very nice.
