Stay away from IMSI Design – poor software and absolutely terrible support
My experience with IMSI Design has been nothing short of a disaster. I have rarely encountered a company that treats paying customers with such indifference. Their software – especially DesignCAD – feels unfinished, unstable, and technically outdated. But the real problem is the so-called customer support, which is practically nonexistent.
Even the registration and activation process is a nightmare. A legally purchased version suddenly refuses to activate for no clear reason. Error messages are misleading or simply wrong, such as claiming an “unstable internet connection” when the connection is perfectly fine. As a supposed workaround, an offline activation option is offered – but the link doesn’t even work. That is not just frustrating, it is downright embarrassing.
The support team takes this mess to another level. Responses are slow, if they arrive at all, and when they do, they are vague, generic, and completely unhelpful. Instead of actual troubleshooting or meaningful assistance, you receive copy-and-paste replies that clearly show no real effort is being made to resolve the issue. As a customer, you are left completely on your own once the payment has gone through.
What makes this especially infuriating is that this is not cheap software. For a paid, supposedly professional product, one should expect reliability and competent support. With IMSI Design, you get neither. Instead, you lose time, productivity, and patience.
Overall, IMSI Design gives the impression of a company that is still selling outdated software while having little to no interest in quality control, maintenance, or customer satisfaction. For any kind of serious or professional work, this software is simply not fit for purpose.
My personal conclusion:
Anyone who values stable software, transparent licensing, and responsive support should avoid IMSI Design altogether. My experience has been consistently negative, and I cannot recommend this company or its products in good conscience.
