Very expensive for what it is. The main gripe about auto-renewal is easily fixed though.
There are lots of real people but as with any dating site, the top 5% of men get almost 100% of the female attention. Slim pickings if you don't look like Orlando Bloom. It's full of the usual dreamers, narcissists, kookoos and downright rude women who enjoy the power trip that online gives them. The biggest negative is that it has a small user base. 500 women seems like a lot until you whittle it down and realise you have better odds in Wetherspoons on a Friday night.

They automatically take a second months money off you which is in the small print but not made clear when you
sign up. This increases the advertised price by 50% which is a new thing as it never use to be the case. Absolute con!

I used IE back in 2010 for the first time. Had a laugh, met a few women.

Roll on 10 years and it's a different story. Extortionate charges for men only. Women get on for free. This results in multiple scam profiles, made up no doubt, to appease men who've just blown a couple of hundred quid. No real substance in any chats. Lots of ghosting.

But the real gem is their charging system. Unless you pay close attention to the payment page, they'll take £99 a month from you without asking. I spotted this by chance, after they'd helped themselves to another £300.

DO NOT USE. There are plenty of cheaper and more honest website out there.

It makes sense to find someone outside your social circle to have an affair with, but this site is beyond awful. I ignored all the warnings despite the poor review scores, as it is UK-based and supposedly the most popular in the UK.

The matchmaker is bad. It gives you people in your age range without checking to see if your age matches their age range (the other settings such as location and what the person is looking for work fine). Very confusing experience. Given how outdated the site looks it makes sense that it wouldn’t have a properly functioning matchmaker.

Men must spend at least £140 to have access to messaging for 4 weeks. Do we still believe that men are providers in 2022? What a fundamentally sexist view… I didn’t realise until after I had paid that only men must pay, and I laughed at my stupidity. You can guarantee no one is spending £140 to catfish a vulnerable woman, but a vulnerable man is getting catfished by a free profile. Would IE ever be willing to provide proof of what their process is? I can tell it’s terrible because there are plenty of profiles looking for a Sugar Daddy as well, so there are women who are fully aware that we must pay a large fee and only want to take advantage of us, and those profiles were approved by the profile reviewing team. I know I am going to get a response saying “report”, but please explain why you approved their profiles in the first place? Not doing your job for you…

My favourite indication that this website is shady is the profile photos. Not the pre-sets (which help to hide fake profiles), but the actual images people upload. I suspected a profile to be fake, and when I tried to reverse image search their private gallery, that’s when it settled in… The resolution is low (300x300), the picture has been cropped and forced into this tiny square, there is a bit of blur, and there is no way to obtain the source image. We can already make photos private; all this does is prevent Google reverse image searches exposing fake profiles.

This design flaw has a further knock-on effect. Every woman's inbox is being flooded as soon as she has an account made, because every guy is desperate to get the most value out of his account... In other words, if you want to make a connection you have to do what every guy is doing and message every single woman, hoping that your message stands out from the pile. I do not have that kind of time or desperation. Giving gifts helps, but are you really going to spend MORE money, to just MAYBE get someone’s attention?

Since women do not have to pay, they aren’t committed to having an affair because what did they waste besides time? It seems they are more interested in getting validation that they are still attractive and then they just move on to the next guy. The worst one was a woman who suggested we meet up when we are free, and then can decide where to go from there. I gave some suggestions of places we can go to; says she will think about it. Ghosts me, so I took it to mean she changed her mind. 4 days later I suddenly get a notification that she’s viewed my profile, and she still didn’t reply to me, so she’s still actively using her account… As soon as it gets to committing, they suddenly lose interest and get cold feet, and yet they still use the site and don’t delete their profile. It's extremely suspicious, to get along so well with someone and then they just suddenly disappear. Chatbots? Paid employees? I wish I knew.

I am going to sit out my remaining three weeks, but I am not hopeful, and even if I meet someone its not going to change my review. These flaws still exist irrespective of how many more “women” I speak to.

A platform to connect like minded people that has worked out very well for me.

Clearly alot of disgruntled guys writing reviews here. And it would appear not many women! There is some truth in all of what they write. But if you work at it you may indeed - as I have - end up with a great affair.

Negatives:
* Yes, before you pay, multiple messages from great sounding ladies, that then disappear.
* Yes, when you quit and before you delete your account, more messages from apparently keen ladies, presumably designed to get you back to paying.
* Beware scammers. IE are quite good at taking these down, but I would suggest doing a Google images search on any profile pics you get to see, you'll be amazed ...
* Women don't have to pay, and I think there are a number of ladies on IE who like the frisson that being there gives, but have no intention of actually meeting someone, or who get cold feet when it becomes all too real.
* I get why it's free for women and men pay, but some low fee level for the ladies might cut down on the number of scammers and dreamers?
* It is expensive, but let's face it, if you end up with a great affair, I suspect alot cheaper than a hooker!

Positives:
* There are real women on there, keen to have an affair. If you can't find one, maybe they just don't fancy you?!
* You remain in control of how much info you give away, and how you check the veracity of any potential date.

Each to their own. I think you do get what you pay for, and you can have some fun along the way. But if some online 22-year-old beauty says that your grey hair and beer belly turns her on, you might want to do a reality check!

This site has its ups and downs!
Until you’re a paid up member you will receive lots of virtual kisses, gifts and messages ( which you cannot read until you subscribe!). Once you subscribe then all of these unsolicited contacts stop!
But - that’s when the fun begins! There are a lot of genuine women on this site. I’ve been on and off it since 2019 / had about 20 meets in total ( only one complete flop) the rest very nice ladies, six of which developed briefly into something.

I'd signed on and dig in the site to understand if the women are real or just bots. Within 2 months, I received tens of messages that I can't read , of course conveniently because I was not a paid member and tons of profile visits and gifts.. As soon as I paid for 6 weeks of membership , they dropped like cut with a blade! I'd replied all the messages, none of them came back. I have send tens of messages noone returned.. So obviously they were all bots and human operated fake profiles just to entice me to pay! After 2 weeks I've asked for a refund of remaining 4 weeks of my membership. I was refused over and over , I'd send lots of messages to admin and their service centre, all came back negative. So it's a scam within a scam just to get you pay more and more...

Heads up so you know how this site works:

The object is to get you (i.e. men) to pay for membership.
If you join for free, then fake profiles will contact you immediately, with 'virtual kisses' virtual gifts and other trite nonsense in an attempt to get you to pay to read/reply to these messages. Once you pay, these fake messages dry up rapidly, popping up only occasionally in the future. How do you know a profile is fake? Conversations are inane in the extreme, involving dull and pointless chat. They never talk about meeting, and the staff operating the fake accounts are so bored replying to you they'll occasionally repeat themselves on different profiles, giving themselves away.

So is the site totally a scam? Well actually no. Most (maybe 70%) of female profiles are genuine, but like traditional dating, if you're a bit of a loser then you'll struggle here, just like you'd struggle on a traditional dating site.

I've used the site very successfully, but it's a bit hit and miss; you're relying on a woman (who is inundated with messages) seeing your message, and you then ticking all the boxes on her list. Many women have, shall we say, 'optimistic expectation' as do I'm sure the men do, further narrowing the odds.

In summary, it is possible to meet women if you're willing to pay for membership, but if not then don't join the site.

This is one of the many dead ends, cul de sacs of the internet, where folk with little or nothing to do with their lives come to act foolishly. Most men will drive themselves into poor mental health by pursuing women here. Women don't need to be here, those that are come with a raft of issues.

The site seemed ok-ish as much as I could see for half an hour, just that I couldn't use it.
I made an account and by next day it wouldn't recognise the password. Tried to re-set the password several times but the new passwords generated by them wouldn't work either. Then tried to make another account but the profile was rejected several times as 'scammer'. Emails sent and nobody replies, nobody answers the phone either..
Is it managed by just one person who sits behind a remote control and watches the telly?!

I have created two very different profiles on here and I appear to be getting the same views/messages from the same fake profiles.
Absolutely no way would I part with my hard earned cash just to be scammed.
All of the fake profiles appear to be written by the same person as they follow the same thread and structure. If you do not believe me have a browse…just avoid putting your card details in.

Feeling excluded and deprived after losing my wife last year, I thought I'd give this site a go. Being over 80 years of age I did not expect much, but to my surprise I was contacted by numerous ladies, two of whom were only 22 years of age!
I only left the site after being diagnosed with a serious cardio-vascular problem and handed sombre medical advice. Thank you I.E. You made an old man briefly happy.

Buyer beware. This site will take automatic payments without explicit authorisation. They claim that when you sign-up initially this is approval for future payment. However, the details are buried in the small print on the sign-up page and they do not provide a way to switch-off recurring payments via their site and you must instead call them directly. This is a total scam. You have been warned!
This website gives the impression that they charge a big membership fee (£119 for one months membership for men) because they have a large number of married women on their website who are looking for illicit affairs outside of their marriage. Unfortunately, once you have joined, you discover that it's just like any other dating website. Full of hoaxers and rip-off merchants. The problem is, the website awards gold membership to female members free of charge. This leaves their whole system open to massive abuse. They claim to have a lot of traffic on their website, but most of this comes from the guys who have paid their £119 and a much smaller amount from the hoaxers and cheats who have got onto the website free of charge and are pretending to be the the married women seeking an illicit affair.
IT REALLY IS A SCAM AND A FRAUD. There are a few genuine women on the site...the ones who look normal and not like your average supermodel (shopped photos of Naomi Campbell/Gisele Budchen etc but not Kate !!!Moss!!!) or porno star with huge pneumatic breasts! Funnily enough when payment is due you suddenly get a whole load of messages from Miss Supermodel/Pornostar hinting they would like to date you hooooooo!!! The promoters of this site are sufficiently clued up to bank on no-one wanting to call out their SCAM due to embarassment factor. Don't be. Stick it to em!
My advice to any guy thinking of joining is DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Had always been a bit cautious about dating sites due to previous bad experiences, but decided to take the plunge again and very glad I did on IE.

Didn't get the impression that there were a lot of bots, communicated with a number of real people and very rapidly met someone that I have connected with.

Cons - there is a disparity in males having to pay for membership, the membership options are limited and it is costly, but otherwise very pleased.

I hesitated at first before joining but I have met some lovely people (both men & women) All genuine people.
There are some crazy people on the site but you can spot them pretty much instantly.

We’re in a crazy world, it’s very normal to have crazy people around, the site is not an exception!
It takes time and effort to meet the right person. There are plenty of genuine men and women on the site.

I’m not surprised that those who are moaning at the cost of subscription, didn’t find someone. It’s very logical. Is it not? 🤔
I don’t need to pay, which is great. But if you’re so bitter about women not having to pay but men do, your best option is to go on Tinder.
I’ve been with my IE for a year now, the experience is amazing.

He would have paid 10 times if needed to have what we have now. Btw, I’m 40, in great shape and have my head screwed on. My IE can’t believe he has found me. He’s an amazing guy.

It does work very well, obviously not everyone is as lucky.
But there’s no luck without time and effort!!
The site does exactly what it says!

I've been on and off IE for a few years now and I have mixed feelings about it.
Finding oneself in the position of resorting to the internet to find a solution to your situation is unfortunate, whether you're a man or woman. I've generally found it quite entertaining and even slightly addictive! It's possible to waste hours on line chatting to people.
I've had many dates be with many types of women of varying ages, and I suspect most of them are probably fairly promiscuous. Its maybe the pot calling the kettle etc but STD would be my major concern about the IE community.
When you sign up, it's fairly obvious IE scams your mailbox to get you to sign up and I feel that verges on the fraudulent. However, there are many genuine profiles and I have managed many dates, personally. Being honest and realistic is important. If you seek multiple encounters, I think IE is potentially very useful, providing you're not too fussy. It's a mixed bag of contestants.
If you want truth, honesty and commitment, that might be more difficult to achieve. Many women have multiple profiles which allows them to check the market while giving the impression they've come me off line, and many are seasoned at dipping into IE for yet another fling.
As long as you know that's what is likely to be going on, you can while away many an hour chatting to women and meeting, providing you keep an open mind and have realustic expectations of your own pulling power.

Scam site packed full of fake or inactive profiles.

Almost every message I recieved over 6 months was from a woman who (allegedly) lived 200 miles away and wanted a chat pal. All but about 4 of the others wanted me to sign up to an alternative site which you also have to pay for.

I also sent out almost 100 messages. Most of these were never even read by the recipient.
One good thing about the site. You report a fake profile and it is removed.

Leave it alone and try to be happy with what you have. That's what I am going to do-which, in mth case, is married celibacy.

Ah the auto renewal again, I've been in contact with a lawyer and a they advised me to alert them that you will do this and then proceed with the action. It's likely that a court will state that the company doesn't issue an alert to it customers about the renewal and as a result is breaching the customers trading rights. This is my next step

I contacted support about a fake profile. That profile was removed within minutes. I am ver pleased with the service and IE as a whole

I was on this site for 6 months last year, met a slim, beautiful lady and had a very short affair due to her family circumstances changing. I signed up again recently and after three months of being on the site, and meeting three different women, I'm having an affair again with a very attractive and intelligent lady.

I've looked at the other reviews (one of which is an advert for another site - take note admin) and I can honestly say that my experience has been overwhelmingly good. Yes you will find people on there who you won't end up meeting because they're not yet ready to take on the risk of an affair. I myself had worries and feelings of guilt initially - that's to be expected and it can take courage and a few months of being on the site to be comfortable enough to take that first step. People are at different stages of that journey and it just goes with the territory.

People do have expectations of their 'ideal partner' which may not mirror their own level of attractiveness, but that's just human nature. There are average looking, amazing looking, thin, normal, and plus size women on the site. It's a cross section of society so it's to be expected.

I have come across very few fake profiles, and the ones that did appear were removed by admin within hours. They're easy to spot anyway because you get sent a link to a very expensive site that is full of fake profiles. I've signed up to other affair sites and illicit encounters is the best of them all. Like all things in life you get what you pay for.

If you're a nice, well mannered and well meaning person you will find the person you are looking for. I can't recommend it enough
