Terrible support

Terrible support.
I got my Tonex pedal because I wanted to capture my own guitar tone. The first thing I got from IK Multimedia was a load of out of date training videos. If it wasn't for on line forums, I wouldn't have had a clue where to start. After spending many hours figuring out how to make it work, I did manage it. But IK Multimedia could have made it so much easier if they offered proper up to date instructions.

IK Multimedia's CS is ABSENT

IK Multimedia's customer support is going from bad to worse. I contacted them about two weeks ago regarding a partial malfunction in my Tonex pedal. I received an automated response; stating that a representative would follow up on the issue. Now, two weeks have passed, and there's been absolutely no response. I also called again about Tonex Max software which is supposed to come with the pedal, which is nowhere to be seen in my product manager, and received another automated response, as usual: a representative would contact you as soon as possible to follow up.
Now, a week has passed, and there's still no follow-up, no contact, and absolutely no attention to customer needs. What exactly is IK Multimedia's problem with customer service? This is almost exactly what happened to me with Headrush, and I had to sell their Pedalboard and switch to Tonex and IK Multimedia. The same story of lacking updates and bad after-sales customer service keeps repeating itself. I think I should switch to Neural and get the Nano Cortex, which has proven its worth over time. It has many updates, and its customer service and attentiveness to customers’ suggestions are more than good.

Update:

After writing this review, I was contacted by ik Multimedia customer service; however, they refused to repair the tonex because I hadn't purchased it directly from their website, and also because I wasn't the first owner. In short: anyone considering purchasing any ik multimedia device should be aware that they must be the first buyer/owner, because even if the warranty is still valid, it's registered in the first buyer's name. Since I'm the second buyer, I was excluded and refused any servicing, even though the warranty period was still valid. This is a clever and malicious tactic on their part to minimise maintenance or repair costs, even within the warranty period. As for the software problem, it stems from the complexities of the ik product manager, which could have been easily avoided if more attention had been given to software engineers and the way apps, products, features, and updates were differentiated, and their integration and functionality with each other were made clearer. I don't deny that there has been some progress, but there's still much to be done.
IK Multimedia isn't healthy for me, nor for my musical creativity in my opinion. The methodology of low prices doesn't mean it doesn't seek profits or dislike excessive utilitarianism; rather, it digs holes from every angle to trap you, indifferent to your rise as a creative musician or your slow demise like any customer of unhealthy fast food. Musicians, or music enthusiasts in general, these days, are numbers consuming numbers; plugins in an endless market of digital profit for the same sound, tone, voice, with visual fantasies that manipulate the listeners who now hear with their eyes, and they are subjected to a non-magnetic or rather unconscious hypnotic hype.

The IK Multimedia Website Is USELESS

Everytime I try to log in, it tells me my password is INVALID. I change my password, and it tells me I can log in and I can't. I sent an email and they respond they will get back to me in a few days. All I want to do is update the firmware in my Tonex pedal and I can't do it and I can't get a hold of them. When the passwords weren't working, I tried looking into the username, and tried changing it. There was no place to do that. I tried to create a new account and it said I already had one. That may be true, but I still can't log on. I tried calling and they say I have to feel out a form for tech support online. I've sent a few and each time I do, I am even more pissed off then I was. It really makes me mad that I can't do anything with my Tonex pedal that I've had for a year now and have not been able to get on their website after I registered my Tonex pedal. I can't do anything! So it's become a $400 brick that I can't do anything with. I also wanted to see about getting the Tonex Editor for my laptop. I can't get it because of this password/username issue. I really hate this company and this pedal now because both are USELESS to me.

terrible company don't ever buy…

What a terrible, terrible company. I didn't buy what I though I was getting due to a promotion that apparently ended but decided to keep on display under the promotions section of the ik multimedia website. I decided to buy Amplitube 5 to get said promo and I just got the basic shitty version of amplitube 5. I contacted support regarding the issue. The response I got wouldn't even be a sentence, I got back "promo ended on Oct 31". That it is?! Don't ever buy anything from this company. Plus the pirated software is so much better as it removes the need of using the abysmal ik product manager.

No regard for me as a loyal customer…

No regard for me as a loyal customer for years and years.
I messaged you and no reply for six days.then I emailed again.
You didn't answer my question at all?
I'm not a well person but no one cares enough to resolve the issue.
I tried 22 times to get resing working but it crashed even with new update.
I've spent huge money here.
If someone read the emails I sent it could be resolved.
I'm really disappointed in Ikmultimedia.

Uno Synth is Pro, but support? Barely competent.

IK Multimedia is a varied company with a diverse product portfolio - mostly, these days, software and software instruments. Very little unique - and largely sample library based bloat where other instruments are modelled emulations.

Like many companies, they like... money. What they seem to be weak on is customer retention and loyalty. Nothing exemplifies this like their lovely little Uno Synth. A bargain of analogue magic, designed in conjunction with Italian modular specialists soundmachines, there are four Uno machines - two of which launched and got bugfix firmware between 2021-2023 - the Uno Pro, in keyboard and desktop models, and Pro X.

These synths are great. Three oscillator paraphonic, effects, dual filter architecture. Tiny masterpieces. Well, apart from the dirt cheap amateur-grade USB power supply and audio isolation on the Pro. There are AliExpress radios that do better.

They even have a desktop and VST editor!

But wait. For a synth launched in 2021, the editor is not Apple Silicon/Universal Binary.

Which means if you want to use the VST your DAW has to be knocked back to Rosetta 2. Yeay! Yet the earlier Uno editor is Native - not a shock, there's an iOS version.

The Uno Pro X is still for sale new, but a week after buying my Uno Pro I asked about updates and IK Support told me it was discontinued. Makes that two year warranty look awesome. More to the point, no Apple Silicon updates for an app you could literally recompile with the right target set in an afternoon. It's basic comms and UX, nothing magical.

Raise the issue on the support forum and their answer is to delete the post, and ban me. IK really do not want people to know the Uno Synth Pro X is already obsolete - and unsupported with no future development planned - but they want you to buy them!

Whether the products are good for your needs or not... and honestly, they're nothing special, Universal Audio, Eventide, Line 6 and Mooer can match most for less or at least better value overall - IK's product manager, registration, etc. is a strong reason to avoid them.

The lack of support, dismissive attitude, overpriced rrp to street price marketing, and fingers-in-ears attitude to criticism and after-sales customer retention means the best plan is to not be a customer in the first place.

I had, this time, chased up the Apple Silicon support while considering selling my Uno Pro to get the better power circuitry of the Pro X. Now, I think... selling it feels dishonest to the buyer, and I might bin it. Not supporting a product still on sale for the simple act of compiling in a current dev framework for a target architecture already on sale and known to be replacing the platform within months of a product's launch? Abysmal. Banning users from a forum and deleting posts asking for it to be done, proposing open-source releasing the source code if they refuse? Pathetic.

Always a hassle with IK Multimedia support

Support response times were very long, sometimes multiple days. It took almost two weeks to resolve an issue that should have been resolved in a day. They asked multiple questions multiple times. Whoever was responding to my ticket was unhelpful and unpersonable. This is my second experience like this with this company. It's as if they're trying to discourage people from using support.

I Was Taken Advantage Of Financially

I was taken advantage of financially by IK Multimedia. I HATE their product structure. I wanted to buy some of their bass VSTs to use with my MixCraft DAW. So I reluctantly purchased the Upright Bass for $49, which is A LOT of money just for one sound. But then after my purchase, I saw on their IK Multimedia website that you can buy all 22 basses and the 1.5 Drum Set for just $99, so I purchased that, which is what I would have GLADLY bought in the first place. So I spent $148 total, needlessly wasting $49. I think it is VERY DECEPTIVE and SHADY that the company doesn't tell you this stuff upfront. NOBODY likes to be TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF and CHEATED, which is really WHAT IT IS. I am so disgusted with this company. There's no money back guarantee for their products if you're not satisfied, which is really bad! I WAS CHEATED BY IK MULTIMEDIA because of their unethical advertising practices, paying $49 more than I needed to. SHAME ON THEM FOR BEING UNFAIR!!!

Terrible after sales support

I had good experiences with my first ToneX pedal and iRig HDX. However, I bought a ToneX One directly from them a month ago. It is faulty and doesn’t work or synch with the Editor. Online support provided an automated trouble shooting list, which I followed but the unit is faulty. After weeks of unanswered emails and several phone calls, they seem unable to organise a replacement. For what seems like a progressive and innovative company that is brining out so many new products, their after sales support is absolutely terrible. Sorry IK, you’ll be losing a once loyal customer at this rate.

Just bought Irig2

Just bought Irig2, I am using it with an iPad( one of those without headphones output) only works with original Apple USB-c/headphone adapter.
Would have been nice to have this stated on the box as I have tried with different adaptors and the results is either no sound or a weird phasey/latency heavy sound coming out.
Also, why is the mini jack cable so short? And wouldn’t work with a cable extension.
The clip at the back doesn’t make any sense and it is very unpractical, where are you supposed to rest the device?
Amplitube ,constantly reminding the user to buy additional pedals and amps, is there a way to release a free version of the software( a lite version) with just the free features?
The authorise software/device system is very fiddly and not user friendly.
When you are logged in, keeps showing the log in page as if you are not.
Do you test your softwares/products before releasing them?
It looks to me that is not the case.
