This bed is so comfortable, from day one it's been wonderful. We sleep well and pain I was once in had improved dramatically. Wish I'd have bought it years ago.

We brought a £1800 Hypnos double mattress from Lucas furniture in Aylesbury, it came with a ten year guarantee. After 2 years 2 oblong depressions started to appear where the hips lie both sides of the bed. As stated in the Hypnos care booklet we contacted Lucas who arranged for an inspection to be carried out by a company called Castelan,on behalf of Hypnos . When the report came back it stated there was no manufacturing fault but the fault was caused by “the padding shifting due to constant sitting on the affected areas”.

After reading numerous and virtually identical cases on review sites like trustpilot and by which time the mattress was so poor with dipping of 100mm it had become unusable, we had to replace it so we decided to have the old mattress dissected.

The padding layer showed no damage or movement, the cause of the failure is that the individual springs are manufactured into single rows of pockets, these rows are then stuck together with 3 tiny beads of glue. This bonding has failed allowing the rows of pocket springs to come apart and tilt, leading to total collapse of the mattress. This element of the mattress looks very mass produced and far from the handmade image of Hypnos
We sent these findings to Lucas who in their reply ignored them but instead offered to sell us a replacement for £1500 !.

Hypnos ,Lucas and Castelan have tried almost everything to deny and deflect any responsibility to an obvious and not unique manufacturing fault and so I can only say it is a poorly made mattress with a worthless 10 year Guarantee

Absolutely appalling quality. This Hypnos mattress started sinking far sooner than it ever should have, and it’s only gotten worse with time. What was supposed to be a premium, supportive product has turned into a lumpy, uncomfortable mess that leaves me dreading going to bed knowing that I’m going to waking up with aches every morning. My hips hurt so much it makes it hard to walk. I never had this issues before this mattress!

For the price, £2,600 I expected durability and proper support — not a mattress that feels worn out after such a short period. It’s completely unacceptable, especially from a brand that claims to offer high-end craftsmanship.

To make matters worse, trying to address the issue has been frustrating and unproductive. It feels like there’s little accountability once the purchase is made.

Overall, a hugely disappointing experience. I would strongly advise others to think twice before investing a Hypnos mattress.

Thought I would share my experience about my pillow top hypnos to warn others. Bought my hypnos about 5 years ago wholeheartedly thinking that the price reflects guaranteed quality. Four years down the line, both me and my wife started noticing back pains due to excess sagging on the mattress. After sending them photos as per their instructions, it still took hypnos about 7 months to send some third party company to visit my house, made some measurements and went through about half hour question to try to catch you out for anything that I may not have done regular enough (e.g. turning my mattress regularly, pressing hard down to excersise the spring etc). It was like a interrogation. Only to receive a reply to say it is within normal range of depression considering the age. I weight 70kg and my wife only 60kg, I would have thought the mattress would last a lot longer then that. The whole point for us to pay £1,200 5 years ago was because of it's 10years guaranteed advertised. Be as well but a cheaper brand which will last just as long. Very disappointed with this brand. Never again.

It’s almost 3 months since we bought our mattress and it has transformed our lives! We both sleep better, and as a bonus our aches and pains have improved massively. We bought a firm tension mattress, even though the salesperson tried to guide us towards a medium tension. We were right in our choice - the mattress is firm and supportive, but it is not ‘too’ firm.

My new Hypnos mattresses has been the most comfortable mattress we've had. We got Mattress in a box that was named after a girl and it was awful. Quick change to the Hypnos and the support given is amazing. The quality of finish is also outstanding.

Great bed for a great night's sleep

Firstly, it's a fantastic bed. Firm support and light enough to turn easily. Makes such a huge difference and well worth the investment!

The bed is lovely - just what we wanted. We both like firm beds and this one is just right.

This is the 3rd Hypnos mattress I have bought. I tested several other brands in the store but found theirs are the most comfortable for me. I opted for a pillow top no-turn mattress as thinking ahead I don't want to be struggling to flip it over. Weekly rotation for the first 3 months is relatively easy even on my own. My quality of sleep has definitely improved from the first night.

Quite simply my Hypnos bed does everything right.
It’s comfortable, sturdy, very well made and excellent value. I would definitely recommend spending that little bit more for this product which is at the top of its game.

I ordered the Hypnos Cambridge Deluxe Double Divan Bed with mattress, and Hypnos Josephine Double Headboard to match, from the Land of Beds website. I am delighted with both. The fabric, Zenith - Palm, is a lovely, warm green, and is very stylish. The mattress is medium/firm and is extremely comfortable. The tension is perfect for me as someone who changes position a lot throughout the night, switching from my side to back. I can honestly say that I have not slept as soundly in months. This bed/mattress is so cosy and comfortable. The quality and craftmanship is excellent. A relative recommended buying a Hypnos bed to me ages ago and I am so pleased that I have finally taken the plunge and purchased this one (as is my poor aging back!); I'm only sorry that it has taken me so long to get around to it. To anyone who is unsure whether a Hypnos is for them, I would say go for it...I very much doubt that you'd regret it!

Bought a Wool Origins 6 zip-link mattress over 2 and a half years ago; in this time 3 of the mattresses have developed the same fault (a separation in the filling) once on my wife's side and twice on my side.
The latest replacement has hardly lasted 6 months. We've had 2 technicians out in that time, both of who filed a report saying it was a faulty mattress.
Hypnos will replace again but I can't honestly see the point as clearly there's an issue with design of this mattress. Here's the rub though if I want a refund they will only refund my half of the mattress which clearly there's no point in doing as we want zip link mattresses.
Despite all the messing about and me spending the best part of 3 months on the sofa there is no 'goodwill' from the company, they'll only do what they are legally obliged to and we really have no other option but to shell out more money on a new mattress when we expected the Hypnos one to last for 10 years. I would call that pretty poor.

So much more comfy than my old mattress. Better sleep .

My recent purchase of a Hypnos bed was to replace the previous Hypnos mattress.I have the mattress and base now and I am delighted with my purchase.The bed is super comfortable.
