Found all staff to be very professional at all times very knowledgeable of products excellent selection of products

All staff very good and efficient

I was tempted by the November sale and felt pressured to make the payment - once made the payment the customer service was terrible. The designer did not consider things such as consumer unit and extractor fans and the joinery expected to make considerable changes. The designers are clearly very busy but felt they did not have great product knowledge. I had three damaged jobs - was at the depot approx six times for replacement damaged items or missing items - the face the end customer does not get an itemised bill is wrong ! Great for trades who know they can get replacements quick but not good for the customer - I’m still worried input the inconsistent finish on 50%of the doors . Still no one has contacted me to ask if I happy - when you spend £30k you expect better ! I would not recommend them ! On a positive note the worktop service was good !

Helpful polite and knowledgeable

Howdens were very helpful from the home visit to measure and design right through to the completion and purchase of my order.
The choice of items and fittings was brilliant and the designer was polite and welcoming.
We were extremely happy with the service.

Called in for a couple of internal doors and linings , asked for delivery 1 mile away and told that would be £50.

My problem resolved ,after manager called .

Service is great from branches I use
However,, following an account issue my credit facility was taken away even after many calls and lots of decisions with the accounts dept.. I was moved back to a cash sale account..
if I didn’t use so many of the products from there I wouldn’t use them again..
It cost me extra paying them off my balance..
Bad customers not paying as per agreements which where made pre start of works !!!
I’ve used them since they started on and off as I did mostly sub contract works..
obviously not a enough of a valued customer.
Let me say this isn’t a branch issue at all head office accounts dept..
Also messed all my discounts up too

Spot on staff

We bought kitchen, materials for a large storage and media wall, oak doors, three sets of fitted wardrobes and used the services of the design team at York's James St's depot for the refurbishment of our daughter's house. The entire team were amazing but the key personnel who deserve a special mention were Brook and Hollie. Their designs were fantastic and worked every time, but unlike some firms the team were always on hand to answer any questions. There was a slight catastrophe when one contractor didn't work correctly off plan, but the whole team rallied round, sorted out all the replacement materials did everything they could to help so that the project could be finished in time for Christmas. From design to order to delivery right through to the uplift and refund process, I cannot speak more highly of Howdens, and particularly of the design team. Plus I noticed that the quality of Howden's kitchen doors and cabinets are far superior to those of my much more expensive kitchen at home! Their appliances are very good also and I was impressed that Howdens organised a site visit for a change of seal on an oven within 8 days of it being reported. The bedroom furniture is also of excellent quality. It is solid, stylish, easy to assemble and looks far more expensive than it really is. The oak doors have been treated with the Osmo Raw Door oil which shows off the oak grain without darkening the wood. I am delighted with the end result of every aspect of the extensive renovation project and next time I will look no further than Howdens.

The staff are always great at Howdens, they help you with technical information and the brochures are clear and easy to use. They also have useful special offers.
They have a wide selection of supplies and what hey don't have in stock is normally quick to order.

Had a lovely kitchen planner Jade, who designed me a stunning kitchen, considering the space I had for a new kitchen was awkward and needed to flow. I had several meetings with Jade to tweak the design and she also can back to my home a second time, so we could double check a few things once changes were incorporated. She gave great advice and was very patient with me, as I was keen to get it right. During the fitting stage I had to go back a number of times to purchase further items or make exchanges and all the staff including the delivery men were all great, super friendly, polite and very helpful. The process c an be stressful and they are a really good, cohesive team at the James Street, York branch, and I am just super delighted with the end result. Thank you to all at Howdens, James Street for bringing my dream kitchen to life!!!

Excellent service from Howdens James Street here in York. Darren was especially helpful in sorting out my order and offering advice as well as arranging delivery. Always helpful team there too. Highly recommended.

I purchased some Rustic oak engineered real wood flooring. It was good quality and easy to install. The staff were Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - 10 out of 10
