It's about Utrecht branch. Initial communication and all went well with them.once I vacated rental properly the deposit was not returned for around 60 days. They responded only once for my initial email stating they are calculating Utility and will return asap. But on my second reminder around 30th day , no response . I keep followed up and sent legal notice to their address but it returned back to me mentioned as incorrect address. Then they processed deposit and shared invoice for utility around 59th day from date of vacating house. No split bills was shared and invoice clearly mentioned me to pay before a specific date , but next day I got deposit refund with amount deducted. They did unauthorized deduction from my deposit without my consent or permission. The utility split bills are not yet shared . On top of it they also charged 45 EUR admin fee which is not correct practice.

Please avoid this agency and stay away .

For their response : It didn't justify that you deduct the amount from deposit by yourself without asking my permission. I have waited for 60 days to get my hard earned money . But househunting did unauthorized deduction from deposit in next day of sending utility invoice without explanation and not even getting my consent . I am reviewing the bills . I am going to report this practice with ACM.

I tried to call, they are extremely rude and do not reply to emails. Do not recommend.

I requested documentation for registration at the municipality (BSN / city hall registration) over 10 days ago and have not received any response by email or phone. I also sent numerous messages via WhatsApp without any reply. The only staff member who responded refused to even confirm the agency’s address.
I went in person to the Rotterdam office on Friday at 14:00, and there was nobody there despite it being within business hours.
Communication is fast only before signing the contract. After the contract is signed, support and communication become very poor, with a lack of response and clear disregard for customer service.

Ik heb meer dan 10 dagen geleden documentatie aangevraagd voor inschrijving bij de gemeente (BSN / gemeenteregistratie) en tot op heden geen reactie ontvangen via e-mail of telefoon. Ook heb ik meerdere berichten via WhatsApp gestuurd zonder enige reactie. De enige medewerker die reageerde weigerde zelfs het adres van het kantoor te bevestigen.
Ik ben op vrijdag om 14:00 persoonlijk naar het kantoor in Rotterdam gegaan, maar er was niemand aanwezig, ondanks dat het binnen de openingstijden was.
De communicatie is alleen snel vóór het ondertekenen van het contract. Na het tekenen van het contract is de ondersteuning en communicatie erg slecht, met weinig tot geen reactie en duidelijke desinteresse in klantcontact.

If you’re an international person, avoid buying their subscription. They never offer visits or apartments, so it’s a waste of money.

This place is such a scam they increased rent by 500 and from the past two days there is no heating in the entire building and the apartment is at 10 degree in the freezing cold and they are not treating it as an emergency. Bas has a special place in hell and hope he knows karma is real. Not sure why he is still employed he has never responded to any query, complaint or even emergency phone call

In my current experience with them for the past 2 years have not been great. They do not keep in contact, do not respond to emails about problems, when leaving they gave us 5000 euros charge for electricity alone for the period of 20 months. Where on the agreement states GWE is included in rent as we paid 170 advance. When asking for proof they once again do not respond. This apartment consists of 3 apartments and they are only hiring to foreigners. This is unacceptable and a misuse of power against people simply wanting a better life.

Awful company very rude employees and they didn’t return my deposit since 5 weeks administration deportment shout and very rude and all mails they are ignoring they told me they are on vacation after they said lady is sick landlord told me he approved everything I sent them landlord mail still they said we gonna process deposit when person is present since 5 weeks how sombody can be absent very bad agency I didn’t miss any rent date or any bad record I didn’t had but this how they handle basically I told them nobody is working you guys enjoying in company administration lady laughed like it’s true which is not acceptable

I rented an apartment for a little more than 3 months in Rotterdam, through House hunting. The apartment itself was beautifully furnished inside and was honestly great to live there! Anything I needed was always accommodated and greatly handled by Rick. Overall I would definitely recommend renting through this agency, as their apartments and their agents are of great standards.

I stayed in there house for almost 3 years, and it was a great experience. The place was comfortable, well-maintained, and I never had any issues during my stay. The house hunting was always helpful, responsive, and made sure everything was taken care of whenever I needed assistance. I really appreciated their support and professionalism. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable and pleasant rental experience!

passive agressive reaction,
shifting costs to the tenant in hidden ways,
no repairs for weeks until threatened with lawsuit to fulfill their legal obligation

Applied for several apartments and received an email that I am not qualified for these. Is it because I am not Dutch? I have a PhD and work in AI. I am more qualified than your employees.

None of the search filters work on the website. Even if they did, there is no search filter for properties allowing pets - which comes across as dishonest, and results in a lot of wasted time.

My work reached out to this company to find a housing option for us. Our first agent was Bass who did not provide any housing recommendation. Our 2nd agent from the company was Dyce, who was helpful at the beginning but ended as a disaster. During our last chat with him he was putting an offer for us and advised to wait couple days to give us an answer. As a shocker we did not hear back from him and when I followed up we received a prompt answer on whatsapp saying he no longer works at HouseHunting. I have reached out to their email but again not a single member took the time to provide an answer back to us. I am assuming the offer was not even submitted on our behalf. Moral of the story, not so proffessional.
