Sleepless at 2 AM......
Great price and great breakfast, but if your sleep is important to you, you may be disappointed here. Because the place is so spread out, and big, the posted curfew (11:30 PM) is not followed, and as a result you may be wide awake at 2 AM due to some @$%&^%'s turning on TV or music too loud at 2 AM !! Find a hostel that you can surely sleep at 2 AM !! Avoid confrontation with other hostelers too.

Good quality service
I have had no problems with my reservations since I have used Hostels.com Due to some the lack of English language some of the hostel staff has, it has taken more time than necessary to confirm a reservation. However, once they have seen the Hostels.com reservation and understand it, I have had great service using Hostels.com I would have no hesitancy in recommending Hostels.com to others.

always enjoyed various stays at my favorite hostels in s.f. until being informed that no longer able to stay at favorite locations because my residence is in sacramento,ca. was told that sac. is considered to be local area to s.f. how is that possible when area is over 100 miles from s.f.??

My trip in USA and Canada was awsome.An unforgettable experience,nice memories that will last a lifetime.Both hostels in USA and Canada were clean,nice premises,kind staff,but I wished a more complete breakfast at ocean beach hostel in San Diego and I hope the hostels do not charge 10 % if somebody is not member

Very nice hostel!!
It is a very nice and safe hostel with many great people. They also offer a lot of free time activity. Still, it is more expensive than other hostels I've been staying at (>50$/night), but a nice breakfast is included.

Not always the best way to book
Based on 2 recent bookings for Chicago and New York, I may not choose to book via hostels.com in the future unless there is no other option. They take a hefty fee from the hostels and its best to book directly from the hostel via the website. You can get a better rate minus the fee from the hostels. Also hostels.com makes no effort to confirm your reservation except sending a mail to the hostel. I found on both occasions either a mixup or a casual 'let me check if you have a reservation' attitude. After travelling half the world around, one wants 100% assurance that the reservation is waiting for you.
