Be careful buying a used car at Hoselton
BE VERY CAREFUL IF BUYING A USED VEHICLE FROM HOSELTON - Before purchasing a 2017 Ram 2500, I specifically pointed out that the steering wheel was off-center and the brakes felt soft. I was assured both issues would be addressed during their inspection. Before signing the paperwork, I even emailed to confirm the inspection had been completed. I was told the truck had passed inspection and was handed a signed inspection sheet showing it had been thoroughly checked.
Within 25 miles of leaving the dealership, I paid to have the truck inspected by my own mechanic because it still didn't feel right.
He found a leaking front brake line, bent steering damper, leaking front differential, severely corroded leaking dipstick tube, front brake pads only contacting about half the rotor, and the steering wheel was still off-center—the very issue I asked them to fix before I bought it.
I'm attaching the inspection sheet they gave me along with photos of the defects. Look at the images and you be the judge but in my opinion there was no way it way inspected, so they gave me an unsafe vehicle.
After presenting the findings, Hoselton agreed to unwind the sale. The least they could do. That should have been the easy part.
Instead, I spent weeks making phone calls, writing emails, getting a duplicate title at their request, rearranging my schedule, and constantly following up because they rarely communicated unless I contacted them first.
The worst part came when I was told my original truck was ready to be picked up. I drove to the dealership only to find out it wasn't even there. First I was told it was sitting at a warehouse. Later I was told it had actually been sent to auction. Imagine being told your trade-in is waiting for you, only to find out no one even knows where it is. A clown show at best.
Eventually they got my truck back and agreed to pay the registration fee.
That wasn't exceptional customer service. That was simply correcting a problem they created.
What frustrates me most is that at no point did anyone seem concerned about the amount of my time they wasted. Multiple trips to the dealership, weeks of uncertainty, an independent inspection I had to pay for, numerous emails and phone calls, and time spent trying to get answers. Everything moved at the dealership's pace, not with any urgency to make things right for the customer.
If you buy a used vehicle from Hoselton, do not rely on their inspection. Spend the money on your own independent mechanic before you sign the paperwork. It may save you weeks of aggravation.
Trust Pilot doesnt let you leave photos but you can see my review on Google and determine for yourself.
