Established in 1992, Hopes Grove Nurseries are hedging plants specialists with a 125 acre nursery and over 1 million home grown plants situated in the Weald of Kent. Our skilled nursery staff have over 200 years of growing experience between them so our plants are given the best possible start.
We only sell our hedging plants to the end user (not to Garden Centres or other nurseries) so you can be assured of direct from the nursery pricing that you will find very hard to beat. We deliver nationwide with plants coming directly from their growing beds to guarantee they are fresh and top quality.

In a nutshell, it’s a way of proving that we will always do the right thing in preventing the spread of harmful plant pests and diseases. The Plant Healthy Management Standard is a voluntary initiative that sets out requirements for implementing effective plant biosecurity systems that can be adopted by horticultural businesses. Hopes Grove Nurseries chose to be part of the scheme earlier this year, after a lot of preparation we received our independent audit in October 2025 and passed with flying colours!

Prompt delivery and well boxed up. Shame the Hawthorn sticks were bone dry. I should have taken more note of “bareroot” as I say the roots were bone dry. This must have been two weeks ago, some are looking healthy, the others are not.Time will tell.

Fantastic plants, fantastic service!
I’ve purchased English yew hedging three times now from Hope Grove and always been impressed with the service and quality. My hedges are growing beautifully, one is 6 years old a the other 3, and so we’d bought our son some bare root plants to create his own hedge. Highly recommend.

24 Provencal Lavender plants
I ordered 24 Provencal lavender plants. Confirmation and ordering went efficiently. On the arrival they were in two separate boxes. One box with plants upright which were fine. The other plants were flat packed and rather crushed. Overall I was unhappy with some of the plants. Most of them were pot bound which meant I had to cut each one out of the pot. A fair number of them had dead parts in the middle.
I phoned up to explain the situation . I wanted reassurance that because I’d bought the plants with a special offer that they were not of an inferior quality. I was assured they were not. I explained I was not happy with several plants and I was asked to send photos over which I did. On return I was told the
Horticulturist had looked at them saying they’d be fine as they had plenty of new shoots.
Over the years I’ve bought plants of excellent quality. I think the plants I bought look as though they’ve been hanging around a while and overall were second rate quality. Most unlike the pictures that are on their web site.

Delivery good, and well packaged.
Before ordering I asked a question and was answered quickly by email. But after delivery I had a concern about the plants and asked for advice, sending photos also, but have still not had a reply, 10 days later.
