Hope Pastures, Lovely visit

Visited today with my foster children and my daughter and grandson. No charge for visiting but a donation is welcomed. Greeted on arrival by one of the volunteers who told us where we could go, which horses were a bit nervous and the ones that loved petting and also where to find a 6 week old foal with her mum. The place was beautifully kept and the animals were really well looked after with fresh hay and clean stables and plenty of grazing. Each horse/ pony and donkey has it's back story written on the stall so you can see where they came from and the massive changes made to their health and well being since arriving at Hope Pastures. Hand gel is supplied and there is a toilet and small tea room for refreshments. Lovely trip out will visit again

We had a lovely visit to Hope Pastures…

We had a lovely visit to Hope Pastures for a pony experience. We were welcomed by Sharon, one of the volunteers who is very knowledgeable and clearly has a love for the charity and the ponies. She showed us round the yard and the secret garden which was decorated for Halloween. We were introduced to all the ponies and horses and told the stories of how each of them arrived and recovered at Hope Pastures. My daughter fell in love at first sight with Cloud, a little white Shetland pony. She was able to groom him and spend as much time as she wanted patting and loving him. Sharon ensured her safety at all times whilst teaching her how to groom him. Covid safety was also in place. This was the favourite half term adventure. We will be back as it is clear how dedicated the charity is to caring for all the ponies and horses. Well worth a visit as all money clearly goes to the care and up keep of the beautifully cared for animals. As visiting is free you can visit as often as you like, all is requested is a donation. Well worth a visit for animal lovers of any age.
