We had a really positive experience…

We had a really positive experience with Heylo from start to finish. The whole process felt smooth and well-supported, and the team were helpful and responsive throughout.

A lovely touch was receiving a welcome hamper when we moved in, which made everything feel even more special.

Overall, we’re really happy with our experience and would definitely recommend Heylo to anyone considering buying with them⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve just sold my Heylo property after…

I’ve just sold my Heylo property after 5 years, and overall the experience was smooth, well informed and they acted fairly throughout. They were a fantastic company to work with, and it gave me a step on the housing ladder to then buy a freehold with my partner - so thank you.

An even bigger shout out to Ewa in the resales and staircasing team who was fantastic, attentive and prompt with her responses. There was little chasing required from my end, and helped me with my Solictors when specific requests came up to avoid any blockers. Selling and buying is a stressful experience overall, but Ewa made it feel a bit lighter and we’re truly grateful for her support - so thank you.

HIGHLY rate Rachel from heylo!!

HIGHLY rate Rachel from heylo!!! We had huge issues with a Bovis sales woman in regards to reserving the home we wanted. She made everything so difficult for us and told us we could not reserve through heylo, only through her. I got straight into contact with Rachel and she phoned me more or less as soon as I sent the email to her and she got straight onto the site manager and got our house reserved for us!

She was always at the end of the phone and was great with communicating, got back to us asap on anything we contacted her for. She was brilliant and I feel she genuinely wanted to help us get our home.

We would not have stood a chance at getting our dream home if it wasn’t for Rachel! We are so grateful.

Awful

Still not sorted out the balance on my account from going back almost 2 years. Having paid them £1300 none of it seems to have been allocated to our account. Disgraceful!

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! Our apartment block has major construction issues, 4 years on Heylo couldn’t care less despite owning 50% of the apartment. Leaking roofs, mould & shoddy plumbing.

My mother in law was purchasing a…

My mother in law was purchasing a retirement flat from a man who had shared ownership through Heylo Housing. They were very slow throughout the transaction. They (and / or their solicitors) took far too long to review the documents, arrange valuers, prepare the Staircasing agreement and many of the documents had simple, basic errors which we had to point out and then they took several days to fix. Very frustrating to deal with and it made the experience for my elderly mother in law much more stressful than it needed to be.

We recently sold our shared ownership…

We recently sold our shared ownership property with Heylo & to say this was a nightmare was an understatement. Not only did our sale cost us a big loss but the whole process took a lot longer to sort out. The companies departments don’t speak to each other & we ended up having to do so much chasing that I’m not sure why we had to pay a selling fee!!! They should have paid us!! Their rents went up a lot every year & we still lost a lot of money on our sale. Never use this company ever again! Avoid as they really aren’t interested in helping you to move.

I highly recommend steering clear of…

I highly recommend steering clear of shared ownership. It combines the disadvantages of both renting and owning without offering the perks of either. The rent consistently rises annually. Strict adherence to the estate's rules is required, unlike your neighbors who seemingly have free rein. We've been in ongoing disputes with a neighbor obstructing our driveway, but Heylo showed no interest in addressing the issue, dismissing it outright. Yet, when the neighbor had complaints against us, they sided with them without proper investigation, bombarding us with threatening emails and treating us condescendingly. I'm eager to sell and move on from this deceptive arrangement.

Helpful and supportive from start to finish

As first time buyers, the housing market can be an infinitely daunting world to navigate. After carrying out extensive searches and house viewings, we opted for shared ownership which we believe is an excellent way to get on the property ladder and finally decided upon a Bovis new build home in association with Heylo Housing. We initially expressed an interest in a house in Herefordshire. However, there was a mix-up with the application and reservation, and we missed out on the property. We were hugely disappointed, but we contacted Heylo, whose national head of sales, Rachel Baker, reached out to us directly and reassured that there would be another property for us. Thankfully, Rachel is a woman of her word, and just a few weeks later she got in touch to tell us about a new home which had become available, and which has turned out to be even better than the original one. Thanks to Rachel Baker and Heylo, we have found the entire home buying journey a surprisingly smooth one, and not nearly as intimidating as we once thought. First rate service, excellent communication, and reliable, supportive property professionals helped us find our dream home.

Awful company!

Awful company!

In the 8 years since I took ownership of my property my rent has more doubled, I was given a £5,000 bill with no explanation, literally no help whenever there is a problem.

After a protracted legal process I am being evicted to the street in January. For context I am a disabled veteran with a child. They even instructed their solicitor to argue that evicting us to the street that day wouldn't count as "severe hardship" and sought possession forthwith! If a disabled veteran with a child sleeping rough doesn't count as hardship ... ? To top it off, they tried to charge me over £7500 for their legal fees, the judge reduced this down to under £2500 and had serious words with them about the fees they tried to levy against me.

This is a greedy, heartless, arrogant and thoroughly loathsome company. I strongly advise any and all to avoid like the plague!

Rachel Baker - Heylo

Rachel Baker from Heylo was absolutely brilliant when I moved into my new home. Due to legal formalities, it all ended up happening very quickly and last minute, which made it a very stressful and uncertain time…
During which, Rachel did everything she could to ensure everyone had all the necessary paperwork in order to speed things up.
Rachel went over and beyond in ensuring my new home was all cleaned and ready to move into, when usually Heylo would require 10 days notice.
Rachel made what is supposed to be one of the most stressful things in life, as straight forward as possible for me and I’m so grateful to her.
Her professionalism and collaborative partner working with other agencies was also exceptional and efficient. Meanwhile her friendly, caring and reassuring nature shone through, making the entire experience a whole lot easier for me. Thank you so much Rachel! Xx

Awful

I would strongly people to avoid shared ownership as much as possible. It comes with none of the benefits of owning and all the draw backs of renting. The rent increases everyear. You are also forced to follow your estates rules exactly whilst everyone else can do what they want. We’ve had constant battles with a neighbour blocking our driveway. Heylo didn’t want to know and denied there being a problem. When the neighbour complained about us they took their side immediately without even investigating properly, sending us threatening emails and speaking to you like a child. Cannot wait to sell up - an utter scam of a company.

What a great experience with Haylo

What a great experience with Haylo, always helpful and hands on! When selling our old home we had a bad experience but Haylo has made it so easy with our new home! And to send a hamper was absolutely above and beyond too!

Staircasing made easy

I thought buying the rest of my house would be complicated, but it just wasn't. The staircasing procedure was simple and straightforward and today we completed on the sale.
Shared ownership through Heylo allowed us to buy a home in steps and in our own time. Without it, we could never have achieved home ownership.
