Had a fantastic experience ordering with Olivia. The most helpful person I’ve come across in a long time. All of my questions were answered and she went above and beyond to help me and even put up with my random chat whilst I messed up 3 orders! Love the products, love the service! (Ps HH should send the staff out skiing so they can personally try out all the gear to advise us better!)
Poor communication and service
Jacket is great, as described although the zip is a little difficult and I have not tried on the slopes yet. However they messed up some shipments to the UK meaning my item (and many others) were held at customs and a depot for 2 weeks without any change (HH customer service closed over a lot of Christmas so maybe others who could have solved this were off too, which is fair however there were some work days in between where surely someone could have tried to resolve or at least communicated to customers)
I understand sometimes errors happen however I got no communication from HH and I think someone should have sorted this quicker than they did. Customer service also never replied to me. When I spoke to them on the phone they didn’t apologise and were pretty blunt. Poor communication, slow reactivity to an issue, and poor customer service unfortunately so perhaps a bit of improvement of process and training would be beneficial (I’ve had a nice experience before buying but this time post-buying was bad).
Its happened to me again
Its happened to me again, ordered boots in a sale only to be told 5 days later my order has been cancelled. This also happened with a raincoat order last year. The disturbing thing is both items were still on sale after the cancellation and able to add to cart and pay for. How many times are HH taking money for non available items? There is a legal term for this illegal practise!!
Professional customer service
Bought a sailing jacket about a year ago, was not happy at all with its quality (DWR in particular).
I contacted their customer service, and got a quick and professional answer, as well as a €300 discount (the value of my jacket).
Great to see that this company cares about its customers' satisfaction !
Deleting bad reviews and lackluster quality
Bought a pair of shoes in October, separating at the toes between outershoe and sole. Very worn on heel padding on the inside and a crack alongside the side of the outside of one of the shoes (might be something sharp but cant remember ever being in contact with something sharp and seems to align with regular cracks.)
A pair of shoes from a brand like HH that has in their Page description as Hiking boots should not break from city usage in less than 3 months with 3 small children walking alongside.
They also delete my bad review from their homepage. I contacted them about an workwear pile on their workwear page also a couple of months ago and got no reply.
I bought a pair of Helly Hanson…
I bought a pair of Helly Hanson Varanger Primaloft boots online direct from their website. After my purchase I discovered the same Helly Hanson boots were advertised elsewhere online at £35 less, from another business supplied by Helly Hanson. I appealed to HH for a price match, this was refused and my request to return the boots for a refund was ignored. BEWARE EXTREMELY POOR AFTER SERVICE!

winter jacket zip broke and not waterproof
I bought a waterproof winter jacket in March 2024 and it took two weeks to arrive. Order number is
109000843165.
So last year I never had a chance to wear the item under the heavy rain and during full winter and since it is not an April coat, it was shelved within 2 weeks of use.
I started wearing the item back in November 1st and so far:
The zip broke, it either does not lock in properly or gets stuck and I had to wear the coat like a jumper for two weeks!!
Since it is a two way zip, it sometimes keeps opening from the bottom half randomly.
The furs keep coming out like a cheap pillow.
Today was the first day I wore it under the heavy rain and it is NOT waterproof like you claimed it. My shoulders and back were ABSOLUTELY WET.
This should be IMPOSSIBLE for such an EXPENSIVE WINTER JACKET to break down this early. I only wore it for 8-10
weeks in total!!!! My cheap Zara coat for £65 lasted me for 4 years!!
I would like to RETURN this item and GET MY MONEY BACK ASAP!! This is literally robbery, the item is not fit for purpose.
I am waiting for a response ASAP since I need to get my money back and save myself from this broken jacket!!

Shoes that really DO NOT last
Shoes that really DO NOT last. First pair (that where warranty replaced) the glue came unstuck from the front of the shoe around where you bend your foot so let in water super easy and dirt and everything else broken within 3 months. Second pair once again are failing in an even shorter period of time. The material itself around the bend of the foot appears to be rubbing as you walk and now its frayed and heading for holes..ingress... These are extremely cheap shoes made in India and certainly don't warrant the £130 price tag. Contacted their support again but I haven't heard anything back. 2 pairs of shoes broken in 5 months is ridiculous. I have trainers that last longer and are worn more and cost less than half the price. Never again.

All I can say is this company has unbelievable customer service! My zipper broke on my coat and since my coat was still under warranty, they gave me a credit for what I purchased my coat for almost two years ago. I also have to say the material and comfort of my coat is amazing!

I am a first-time Helly Hansen customer, and ahead of the rainy season I cleaned out my closet and purchased a new HH Seven J Rain Jacket to replace a cheaper jacket from another brand (which had fallen apart). I was excited when my new jacket arrived – I tried it on, then put it in the closet. I never wore it until the first rain, recently. It was then I discovered that the “insertion pin” at the end of the zipper was missing. It had arrived from Amazon this way...
I contacted HH Customer Care, and they were very friendly, empathetic, and reasonably fast! They resolved the issue as quickly as possible, and I am now a very happy new HH customer. The jacket has been great in the recent rains, and I look forward to using it on my upcoming adventures. And I look forward to trying new HH products, since I know they stand behind what they sell.
