This was my first experience with this company and my first ghost hunt. I feel disappointed to have to write this review and I am undecided about doing another event at this time despite it being an interesting evening.
Positives:
I enjoyed the location and welcomed the friendly greeting and introduction. It is nice to learn that a portion of the fee goes to supporting the trust for the building.
Chris was very knowledgeable of the history when giving us the walk around tour of Woodchester at the beginning of the night which was perfectly executed.
Sue was friendly, listened to what people were saying and acted on it. She happily shared information when asked and came across as experienced and professional.
Tea coffee and snacks were good and a welcome refreshment to keep us going.
Negatives:
It would have been helpful to have an explanation at the equipment being used and items available to try out at the introduction as there seemed to be a general lack of equipment available.
Sue did have a spirit box and there were some sensors placed in the cellar when Chris did his session but other than that I only saw a drawing planchette, one light ball and one pair of dowsing rods available to try. Meghan was using a spirit talker app on her phone which uses a pre programmed word bank of words designed to make sense to someone looking for ghosts. This App cannot use the microphone on the phone to pick up words being heard and phones can only access a couple sensors in the environment so are much more limited than the devices available to buy. The app is therefore very much for entertainment use rather than serious investigation.
Sorry to say it, but I found Meghan immature, unprofessional and by the end of the evening just downright annoying.
She acted like a character from the Most Haunted tv programme, trying to project fake fear onto others by screaming, laughing, joking around and all but running from the top floor when we had only just arrived there to investigate. Her voice was so loud it could be heard on the floor below. She also said that she couldn't stay on the top floor as she was too scared.
In all I found this behaviour very off-putting and it made it difficult to focus and filter out her voice which was drowning out everything else so even if unexplained noises were made, you couldn't hear them. I came there to explore all areas and experience my own interactions not to hear about someone else's insecurities especially a group leader.
The group attending was too large and several people appeared to be under the influence of something with their loud laughing. Some of the group also disappeared completely.
Meghan interrupted Sue's group in the bathroom area at a pivotal point before the slotted time had expired rather than just waiting for us to return to the reception room, making the session feel rushed at the end.

Second experience with this company, not sure there will be a third.
The good:
1.Woodchester mansion - definitely some phenomenon felt and observed. I’ve loved & visited this building many times, but never at night which was a unique experience.
2. Two of the three staff were professional and informative and I felt the older lady was very in tune.
3. The history walk around the building- brief but sufficient and spot on for the event.
The not so good:
1. Too large a number and some muppets who clearly were on something and being very obnoxious at points
2. The lack of informed free time and lack of clear explanations regarding timings & purpose / type of sessions etc. i would have liked to be informed at the start of the night.... there are x number of activities doing x, y & z , if they structured a free time section it would have been better, as i didn’t feel we had sufficient time.
The very poor:
1. A young female who was leading the sessions was unprofessional, screams and to be honest incredibly irritating. Phrases such as “good luck i know what’s in there”, shouting & cursing at spirits - not professional or respectful. She was virtually hysterical at points & you could hear her several floors down in the mansion when she was on the top floor screaming. The previous event we did all staff were great. This girl needs to not be involved.
2. Ouiji boards- WHY O WHY??? I have a personal aversion to them due to previous experiences and I do not want to be involved or present at all for them, especially when conducted by some screaming nigh hysterical girl who demonstrated she had no respect for spirits and would therefore not be opening a positive channel or communication. I personally found this dangerous. Both events we’ve done had a large session dedicated to ouiji boards bout zero alternative - we were told to go into the kitchen in this instance but with the caveat “be careful i know what’s in there”
3. Lack of equipment- there seemed to be a solitary cat ball, both leaders had apps on their phones for voice boxes, but there was nothing to utilise to self explore.. but then we weren't advised when self exploration would be ok either as the evening sessions wasn’t clear.
So my summary: loved the venue. Definitely felt and saw and heard things that i can’t explain. But staffing was an issue, as was lack of clear directions / instructions & lack of equipment.
I’d defo recommend a vigil at woodchester, just use a different company.

I'm not sure what to make of it.
Things 100% happened
Not enough for me to question things., I did see an white orb, nothing new as I got these at my nans house.
I do wonder who it is though...
The guys were good even when they trying to interact with the spirits.

Great evening with Shannon and Kelly from Haunting Nights at the Jack The Ripper museum. They were friendly and welcoming. Felt safe and comfortable the whole evening.
Have been to a few different paranormal investigations, but I really loved the variety of tech that we were allowed to use and the vigils we got to do on this one. The evening was planned so that we had enough time to do a mixture of activities and everyone who wanted to take part had enough time to do so.
I really loved the Esty activity towards the end of the night, although a certain spirit expressed anger to me and I did become overwhelmed with several spirits trying to speak with me all at the same time. That’s a me thing! Not a haunting nights thing and when I decided to cut the activity short, they were supportive and made sure I was ok.
Although the location itself had quite a bit of spirit activity, we found that the spirits who came through weren’t connected to the Jack The Ripper cases itself. So perhaps maybe the Ten Bells pub on would be an interesting location for investigations relating to those cases.
Regardless, we had fun and enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much :)
We will definitely book more events with Haunting Nights and would recommend to others.

We had an amazing time at kelvedon hatch, the team were really good and we got some good results, I’ve been on a lot of ghost hunts but I enjoyed this one the most and can’t wait to investigate with them again

2nd time doing a ghost hunt with Haunting nights in 2 weeks. Again, an absolute professional company. This time visited Northleach Old Prison Upon arrival, warmly welcomed by Rachel (who recognised us straight away from our last ghost hunt) and Paul. Once everyone had arrived and instructed of the companies policies, the ghost hunting began. We used a variety of equipment and experiments, we were told if there was anything else we would like to try we only had to ask. We had a mixture of activity happen, some we could explain and others we couldn’t.
Overall a good night, due to the activity and it being only a small group (12 in total). A massive shoutout to Rachel and Paul, both of whom were professional, friendly, funny and happy to go with the flow.
I will definitely be booking through Haunting Nights again and cannot recommend them highly enough.
What is also great about this company is they do not give you a lot of information about the location you are visiting or anything that has happened there before, so you go in with an open mind and are not swayed by previous experiences or history.

We attended Willsbridge Mill. The staff were friendly & informative throughout the night. However, it was clear that although the night was structured with activities, the equipment was lacking, it felt as if the groups were too big for the equipment available. 2 Ouija boards between 1 group of 9 people would have been better, or smaller groups with more equipment.
Activities were also a bit lacking, can we suggest table tipping, glass communication, dowsing and the opportunity to borrow equipment in free time to hold our own vigils as some improvements to the evening.
The human pendulum would also work better if you had a medium involved. This has been a huge success with other companies and would make this activity much more interesting.
Loved the spirit box. Best part of the night.
Overall yes, we would book again with Haunted Nights, but would like to see more involved.

My experience at the ghost hunt at Colchester Castle last night was very different from the facebook event write-up. It would also have been nice to have been given some history of the castle and information about the spirits or hauntings that are reportedly associated with the venue. For a location with such a rich history, I felt this would have added context and helped build the atmosphere for the investigation.
From my perspective, there was little to no genuine activity throughout the evening. The cat balls did occasionally light up, but it was obvious to most people present that this was happening when people were moving around nearby, so it didn’t feel particularly convincing or unexplained. The team also made use of a ghost app and it often felt as though any word that was generated was immediately treated as significant and made relevant to the investigation, regardless of how random or unrelated it initially appeared. This made it difficult for me to view the responses as compelling evidence of anything paranormal.
Unfortunately, everyone’s experience was further affected by the behaviour of one particular couple, especially the male. Throughout the evening, he constantly talked, interrupted moments of silence, and seemed determined to be the centre of attention. This made it difficult to immerse myself in the investigation and significantly detracted from the atmosphere that many of us were there to experience. A couple of other guests even told us that they were considering leaving early because they felt the behaviour of certain individuals was spoiling the experience for everyone else.
The most disappointing part was during the Estes Method session at the end of the night. This is usually one of the most intense and atmospheric parts of a ghost hunt, but repeated disruptive behaviour, including farting and joking around, completely broke the atmosphere and made it difficult for others to take part seriously.
I do want to say that the staff were excellent throughout the evening and were friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. Megan in particular does a fantastic job of setting the atmosphere and creating an engaging experience. Unfortunately, organisers can only do so much when guests are disruptive. Colchester Castle itself was an excellent venue, but the lack of compelling activity and the conduct of fellow guests can significantly damage the overall experience. I understand that you cannot control the paranormal, but fellow guest behaviour can have a major impact on the night.

Cold Harbour Mill - WOW this was a very active night👻😱👻😱👻😱 great location, the organisers were very professional. Lots of different equipment. Large groups, small groups, time to explore on our own however we wanted to.

This was my first event with Haunting Nights. The booking system/app is easy to navigate and offers part payments. David and Amy were fantastic hosts. They were totally upfront about what you may/may not experience and made sure they catered for everyone’s needs. Plenty of equipment and methods to try out, so it doesn’t get boring. I will definitely book an event through Haunting Nights again. Thank you
David and Amy were really good hosts we did a lot of different tests and experiences through the night I am usually quite skeptical but volunteered to be a human pendulum and after a few minutes a feeling of dread come over me and I became very nauseous and my whole body wouldn't stop shaking. Sat the last half hour out due to this but would definitely go again.

I’ve attended several events with Haunting Nights - all of which have been awesome - well organised, engaging and great fun! The staff and hosts are always knowledgable and friendly, and the locations - for me anyway - have always been really active during investigations - Thorne Workhouse near Doncaster is proving to be one of my favourites. If you’re thinking about going on an investigation then I would highly recommend booking with Haunted Nights - you won’t regret it!

James and Camilla were friendly and welcoming hosts for our ghost hunt at the Thorne workhouse in Doncaster. Very relaxed night with us only having two small groups. Experienced some activity throughout the night, torches flashing, rem pods going off and some activity on the SLS app, very genuine that you sometimes get loads of activity and sometimes not a lot. I always enjoy ghost hunts with haunting nights really great company!
