Did you ever buy a sandwich and asked…

Did you ever buy a sandwich and asked the shop to cut it into 2 pieces because you incidentally had left your home without a breadknife and a cutting board? And did you ever get the reply: “No, we just can’t do that”? Well there is a first for everything!

Today I was in the Hart shop in Gammel Mønt where I shared a cake with my daughter and drank cappuccinos. The coffee taste was missing, and the milk tasted as being just on the edge to be sour. Upon leaving I went back inside to buy a loaf.

On top of the shelved loafs there was 1/2 loaf. I asked the sales woman to show me the size of a whole loaf. I had spotted 2 large breadknives on the cutting board (probably where they had cut the 1/2 loaf off) and I decided to take the whole loaf in order to offer a piece of it to my daughter. I asked the lady to cut (just) 1/3 off and put it in another bag…(as I didn’t bring my own breadknife in my pocket I was unable to do so myself).

“No we don’t slice bread” she said, and I replied “I don’t need it sliced, just to have 1/3 cut off”. She said: “no slicing”.

We then began to play a ping-pong discussion; back and forth with me repeating; that she had the tools right there to cut 1/3 off just as if she would cut a loaf into 2 pieces, and her insisting: “We just don’t do that”.
It is incomprehensible to me and my daughter, that I can’t get a 1/3 cut off my whole loaf that I’m about to buy, but I can get a 1/2 cut off?? Can you please explain this? It's simply too idiotic and I can only believe that the lady could not understand my request even though I did a big job in explaining properly.

(Unfortunately an uneducated parent let his 4 year old child stand on the table counter 5 cm away from me and allowed the child to scream right into my ear which made the conversation very difficult- but this was a different matter).

The conclusion is, the cappuccino was on the edge to be undrinkable, and there was no service of having my expensive 59 kr loaf cut into 2 pieces. That’s a clear 0 out of 10.

PS. I HAVE JUST READ THE OTHER (BAD) REVIEWS: It seems that Hart has not replied to any at all. Conclusion nr 2: They don't care about their business!

I rarely feel it is necessary to write…

I rarely feel it is necessary to write a bad review. However, today I’ll leave a review as I rarely have felt such a bad customer service.

I usually enjoy coming to Hart Bakery at Islands Brygge and Kødbyen.

But today I visited Istedgade, hoping to be able to buy a cooking book for baking (which sadly was sold out).

Instead I ordered myself a coffee and some bread. The lady serving coffee, was in general very rude. Rolling her eyes at my request to have my coffee in a mug, and not a to go cup. She was yelling loudly, rather than serving the coffee at my table (I was 5 steps away), even though the shop was empty from any other customers.

It might seem as a silly review to some. However, this is a 5 minute visit. A simple smile would be appreciated when ordering from here.
Neither bread or coffee is cheap at Hart Bakery. So neither should the service be.

I do love the bread and will continue coming to Hart Bakery at Islands Brygge. But this is definitely my first and last time at Istedgade.

Bad service

If you are under 25 and work in the fashion business, the service is great. If you are over 25 and look ordinary, the service is rude. The coffee is good though but good service still leaves a bad taste in the mouth
