Great selection of properties and very easy to book/arrange

WE had a hassle free short break in Knaresborough (during October 2012), a small town with easy train links to York and Harrogate. The cottage was clean, well appointed and warm with more mod-cons than you might otherwise expect.

would use harrogate holidays again as they provide on at least my experience clarity on what to expect and an above average range of properties. Always a shame the long weekend price is not half that of the week price :-)

Cosy Cottage in a great location

Harrogate is a lovely place , lots of interesting shops and surrounded by beautiful countryside .The house is well-placed near Valley Gardens ( good for walking the dog ).
We were nice and warm and beds were comfortable ,stairs very steep .
A couple of problems : the boiler made an alarming noise when heating came on - maybe overdue for a service ?
And the back door key was extremely stiff - had to get my husband out of bed to let dog out as I could not open it .

Great place to stay.

Staying here was an amazing experience. Outside one set of windows are breathtaking views of the Dales, just outside your doorstep. Outside another set of windows are charming views of your bovine companions of the farm. Sarah made us feel right at home, and gave us an informative tour of the place before letting us settle in. My husband has dietary restrictions regarding gluten, and Sarah bent over backwards to accommodate us, even offering us gluten-free bread, dairy-free products, and fresh fruit. The facilities are newly constructed, and beautifully designed and intelligently laid out. There was just enough furniture without too much to make you feel crowded. The gas range was a bonus - we hate electric stovetops. We cooked meals for two easily. We'd come back again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Sarah!

A relaxing week

The owners of this property, which adjoins their house and overlooks their garden, were on holiday but this did not affect the enjoyment of our break. Very comfortable and compact. A good base for exploring Knaresborough and the surrounding area.

Superb apartment in a very convenient location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Great location- only a few minutes walk to The Stray, central Harrogate,and a supermarket.
The apartment was lovely. It was spotlessly clean , warm ,and very well equipped. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We hope to return!

Everything we needed for the perfect stay

We stayed at The Old Cottage in Knaresborough for six days, in the middle of an extended driving holiday through the UK and Ireland. We wanted somewhere convenient to explore Yorkshire, not located in a city but with access to all facilities, and completely self-contained. That is what we got and more - a perfect situation close to the High Street but away from noise, beautiful garden to look out on, all modern conveniences, all on one floor, and well-maintained, plus some extras thrown in. And Knaresborough was one of the loveliest towns we saw in all our travels. We couldn't have asked for more - well, the two days of rain that lead to extensive flooding around Yorkshire we could have done without but the Cottage proved a lovely cosy retreat even then.

Great situation: as new no frills.

This flat in a fine quiet situation 200 yards from the Conference Centre is modern, comfortable and everything works.
Four quibbles;
the floor mop is about the cheapest on the martket and broke;
no spare bags for rubbish:
no way of opening the skylight windows;
lights in the main room OK for TV watching but no good for reading - no 'bright alternative'.
Thanks a lot.

Amazing stay in a wonderful property

Our week in Buckden Pike Loft was perfect. The flat lived up to our expectations, we were welcomed with some wonderful touches like wine and chocolates and the owners couldn't have been nicer. It was in a great location and we're thinking about staying again in the future.

Booking Cancelled !!!!!

We were really disapointed that out booking was cancelled - by which point it was really difficult for us to find alternative suitable accomadation without paying a premuim. We have used this company before and had booked well in advance to ensure we had our accomadation booked in advance for the busy trade event we were attending - Our booking cancelled as property had apparently been sold at short notice - but we felt no effort was made to find alternative accomadation for us - We Wouldn't use them again.

Reply from Harrogate Holidays

Hi Beth & Anne,
Thanks for taking time to review. We are really sorry that you were disappointed with our performance. Edwards House was sold by the owner part way through our season which is an unusual occurance and one outside of our control. We've had a look through the correspondance and alternatives were offered to you (We can forward the correspondance to you if required)we are sorry that none of the properties suggested met your requirements (Bridal Fair is a really busy week for us). As a company we really do pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our guests and we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations this time. Kind Regards The Team at Harrogate Holidays

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for posting a review, we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Harrogate. Rest assured that the pigeons are being dealt with! (We've been struggling with the roofers fixing the v.small hole they've been wiggling in due to the rain!) Hope we can welcome you back soon. Kind Regards The Team at Harrogate Holidays

A very professional service

We couldn't have wished for more. Our booking for the lovely Harrogate flat was last minute, thereby being too late for them to send the keys. They made other arrangements which were extremely simple and accommodative considering our long drive to the flat. The flat itself was beautiful, within a short walk to the city centre, very clean and well presented with everything we needed during our stay. Lovely white cotton bedcovers, towels and even tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits to give us a welcome drink. Would definitely recommend the quality of service and accommodation standard offered by Harrogate Holidays.

Everybody was happy!

I had my parents and my sister staying in Harrogate from abroad, they were all happy even when they all had different demands!
Clean, convenient, and safe environment with car park.

Will definitely use it again.

Very average

Very friendly owners made us feel at home.

As a basement apartment, we could hear noise from above.

Whilst the property has a TV it is very old. Will be unsuitable when digital change over takes place and currently does not have BBC2.

Car park space was a bit hit and miss as it was not available for 2 nights.

Excellent size bed and bedroom. Spacious bathroom.

The views really did come into the room!

Wonderful location and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the whole family (age range 2 to 91) had a great time and would certainly wish to return. So much to see and do and an excellent centre for a holiday. Otley is a great shopping centre and only 20 minutes from the cottage.

The only negative comment was the lack of cleaning materials and things that should have been checked and hadn't (vacuum cleaner attachment that wouldn't stay on and no salt or rinse aid in the dishwasher).

However, these minor niggles were just that and in no way detracted from our enjoyment and overall satisfaction.
