Recently purchased a newish car from this company thinking it was a family run big company that would offer a decent and trusted service. After I bought the vehicle there were numerous problems. Back and forth in communication which was extremely poor and took weeks , only to then be fixed and break again a month later. Ender up costing me more money because I couldn't trust the work they had done. Extremely poor service. Poor aftercare. Would never buy anything from this company again.

I Have recently purchased a nearly new Honda CRV from Harratts Honda Wakefield. I have no problem with the car, but the salesman Chris who when I was buying the car was very respectful. But since collecting the car on 18th of November, when I was told the second key was at the office and would receive it the next week, after numerous phone calls and promises that he would sort it out I have now been told that the agreement I signed specified there was only one key with the car ( I have checked all my paperwork, no mention of keys ) in other words they have been paid in full £ 25k + and if I want a spare key I will have to fork out £200 myself as they are not interested. I believe there are few honest car dealers, Harratts are certainly not one of them. SO BUYERS BEWARE they are not always truthful.
Callous, Abusive and Uncaring when something goes wrong
**EDIT**
As you can see - if you try and bring your thoughts on this company to the general public they will report you to the police!
You will read below that I had an issue with the car I bought from them and asked for them to fix it - they wouldn't.
I had no choice but to get the repair done myself and now, after they refused to pay even HALF the cost, I have left this review - a review that they have deemed as 'blackmail' and have reported to the police!! Utterly disgraceful behaviour!
Be sure that you really want to deal with this company......there are many other car dealers close to them and most of them have better reviews and feedback.
Three years ago I lost my partner to Cancer.
I was left as a single parent looking after two young children.
Eighteen months ago my eldest child moved school so I needed to buy a car as there simply wasn’t enough time in a morning to take two buses with the kids and one to work.
Having never bought a car before I went to my local ‘Main Dealer’ who I thought I could trust.
Harratts sold me a car – within six months I started having problems. The car broke down and left me stranded and unable to get to my children three times.
The problems were many but the main cause was a Faulty DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
Harratts WOULD NOT HELP ME - the warranty wouldn't cover the problem and the Service Department just didn't want to listen and simply wouldn't consider even paying a contribution towards getting my car back on the road – It was close to Christmas and I had to pay £450 for the repair.
It was my children's FIRST Christmas after losing one of their parents and the result was that I couldn’t afford to buy them the Christmas Presents that they wanted.
I have brought this complaint to them again and have once again asked for their help - what have they done? They have threatened, abused and even reported ME to the police for making a 'review'......they think that they can prevent free speech and the opinions of their customers!
If you care - please share my post on your social media and tell as many people as possible so that no-one else has to suffer the financial loss that I have and the indignity of having to beg for something that a caring company should have taken care of without argument...

It's been a month since I picked up my Nissan Qashqai from Pontefract branch. Very helpful staff especially Leo Stansfield he is an absolute gem for the company. There was no forced selling.. very friendly reliable service .. Kids loved going there, were made to feel welcome.. Managed to part exchange for a good deal. After sales has been spot on. Took it next day with a minor key fault which was sorted asap. I would recommend to friends and family as Leo, Chris & Sharon made everything run smoothly.
Poor aftersales promise
Happy with the car . A Dacia from used centre wakefield.which I purchased 2month ago. The help I received from the girls in Nissan service has been fantastic but it's the aftersales and things I was promised I'm not happy with
1/ 2nd car key either original from previous owner or new one order.
2/ rear parking sensors to be fitted at cost from adjacent Dacia garage.
Don’t waste your time or money.
Shocking service with nothing but rudeness and attitude from the staff. Not worth stepping foot in the dealership as your time will be wasted. At one point I had the phone put down on me when I was asking a question by the ‘manager’. When purchasing the car I was told the car came with navigation and matts, this was all then denied in later conversations making me to be a liar. After an hour and a half of having the car the car broke down and I was left with no other option than calling recover as the dealership was not willing to help. When fixing the car the dealership was very reluctant to take the car in and expressed that the car was being fixed to my convenience. After needing to take the car back to the garage for a third time to be fixed I declined and had the car fixed else were as I could not trust the work that was being carried out by the garage. The garage then couldn’t provide an itemised invoice for the work carried out on the car which I have the legal right to know as the car is my property. A month later and I still haven’t received an invoice from the work completed. Nothing but an incompetent dealership who have no idea how to treat customers with respect.
avoid the sales guys at Wakefield
The Wakefield branch is an absolute joke. Lied to, miss sold and awaiting for a promised refund for months I was promised it in 10 days - stay away from this branch
Friendly
Friendly, efficient and professional service throughout. Stef at the Pontefract dealership was very down to earth and not pushy in any way.
Just picked up my new Dacia Sandero
Just picked up my new Dacia Sandero and very happy with the service I got from Jack and the team.
I needed a new car as recently retired from a job with a company car and Jack did all he could to speed up the delivery of my car.
Highly recommend Harrats in Wakefield for anyone who is looking to buy a new car.
Happy customer.
I recently purchased (and part exchanged my old car) from Harratts Mitsubishi in Darton.
From my first conversation over the phone , to finally driving away in my new car, the salesperson (Neil Finlay) was at hand in an unpressured fashion to answer any questions I had and was very courteous and knowledgeable about all aspects of the car and the transaction process.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harrats for every aspect of car buying and services related to it.
Very happy with my purchase and experience.

Car ok service 0 and a salesman Simon that thinks service consists of denying everything he said.flash premises back street attitude.
If I could give six stars I would - First class service !!
I just had occasion to return my Dacia Logan for a recall on the airbags and was extremely surprised to find that not only did the job take around an hour ( much less than expected) but that my car had been cleaned - inside and out - HOW GOOD IS THAT? I have already recommended to my son to buy a Dacia and to use Harrats Renault Wakefield and I will not hesitate to recommend to others. As I am in a prominent sales position where I speak to thousands of people a year face-to-face the subject of cars often arises - especially when my customers notice my car outside of the sales office.

Having made an appointment to view a used car I was appalled at the condition of the vehicle but more so at the attitude of the salesman Luke. The vehicle was only 3 years old and looked like it had been dragged through a load of hedges everyday of its short life. I would be embarrassed to put such a vehicle on my forecourt if I was a main dealer. There was no offer of rectifying the scratches/bodywork damage and the salesman was arrogant and dismissive. Avoid at all costs!
Fiat 500
Just picked up my car, Fiat 500 from Harratts at Pontefract, David the sales man was very professional , No pressure, relaxing, was there for me to ask questions, clearly knew his products. No flash suit but smart and what you want to see , From picking out the car and having a friend test drive the car then picking the car up after purchasing he was there every step,
I would recommend visiting David, if you want the information you need to make YOUR mind up which car you need.
I recommend and I'm sure in the future l will use again.
keep doing what your doing David your a real asset to Harratts*****

I will never buy a car from these clowns again. Since I bought a car with them they have pestered me to come to one of their 'promotional events'. I've asked to be removed from their database each time they've phoned. Just got my kids all tucked up in bed and they've called me at 5 to 8PM. Thanks for waking them up! :-(
pleasant experience
I have just bought a car from Harratts at Wakefield for my daughter and would go again for my own next car.
Adam made it a very stress free experience not pushy but very pleasant and informative, top marks.
