I ordered one ton of blended loam topsoil which was delivered promptly on the day it was promised. The quality is excellent. The price, £51 plus VAT and included free delivery was very reasonable and much less than I would have paid at a local garden centre or B&Q. Delivery was courteous and efficient. Terrible service, avoid
I ordered online on a monday for delivery thursday of 4 bags of top soil. The email i recieved had all details correct. No delivery arrived thursday despite waiting all day. I called friday morning to find out what happened. Whilst the person on the phone was pleasant, I was told that I was going to get a call back to arrange the delivery as there had been an error on their side. I never recieved a call back. I called back at 5pm ( lines close at 630 pm ). I was told the office had all left for the day, and that they left a voicemail for me telling me delivery would now be Tuesday. No such voicemail was left. I had contractors there on the Saturday - no use. The offered to cancel and refund, but that is also of no use as i needed the soil.
It appears they have terrible IT systems that messed up the order and details - including my phone number.

Free delivery is a con.
Ordered mulch. Prominent on the page was FREE DELIVERY. Paid through PayPal and charged nearly £50 for delivery. Had clicked on order before I realised that I had been charged so much. Not at all happy.

Poor service ordered 110 square meters of turf received 109 square meters , called them a week ago was told someone will call me back still waiting. Some of the rolls the Grass was around 4 inches Long when delivered , won’t use again .
Shocking Service and No Delivery
I ordered some Turf on Sunday and asked for delivery for the Friday, I was initially please with how simple it was to book the turf and I took the day off work to wait, expectantly for my Turf.
Unfortunately no turf has arrived, I then called them to discuss this as I wanted to know where my turf is.
I was met with a rude lady who simply stated that if it does not arrive then I would need to call again in the morning and see when they can deliver it. I asked for a rough idea on timings and was told that it would be a priority and delivered before the drivers normal route, I asked when this was and was told 8am only to be told in the next breath that she could then not guarantee a time.
I asked for the contact details for the delivery company and was told that there is no point contacting them as wont be able to speak to them.
I have literarily wasted a whole day, waiting for something that has not arrived and I know have to alter my plans for tomorrow on the premise that it may or may not be able to be delivered tomorrow.
Unbelievably poor service with absolutely no options for things to be resolved on the day. Even their website does not give a warning to state that despite the delivery date and times it may not arrive and when I pointed this out I was told it will be taken under advisement.
Horrendous, I will not be using these again.

They don’t have a clue what their doing. They have no tracking, no consignment numbers to track your order and are extremely unhelpful.
The manager is called Lee and he is the rudest man you’ll ever have the misfortune to deal with. This is a guy that “might” know a little bit about plants or grass seed but knows nothing, zero about customers and service and should not be in the job. He says he’s been there years and going nowhere, which is a shame as there are jobs available in the Siberian salt mines.
I’m praying and hoping that their quality of turf is better than their telephone manners and customer service, if I actually get it because the supplier has no idea where it is. They are using palletline for deliveries and cannot give you any details whatsoever of when or where the consignment may be in the country. 220 square metres of turf has just vanished in to the ether.
All in all,do yourself a huge favour, pick a decent supplier and totally avoid Hallstone, especially the very rude and extremely arrogant manager who goes by the name of Lee.
Excellent service and a great price.
Ordered on Monday. Requested Friday delivery. It turned up at 11am on Friday. The driver placed the pallet exactly where I asked. Can't fault them, though a call before delivery would have helped. Just laid the turf and it looks good to me. Time will tell how well it beds in but so far I can't fault Hallstone direct at all. I note the turf actually came from London Lawn Turf who would have charged me over £100 more for it!

Wheres my turf? Produced me an order reference, then never got delivered. Called customer services to be told by 'Nigel' that its my fault that I should have checked that it was coming?
Why take an order and then not deliver or tell me that its coming?

120m2 of turf delivered at 10am on the day of delivery, grass was perfectly green, turf laid and well established.

Ordered 40m² of turf from Hallstone as they were the cheapest by miles online (due to some crazy delivery costs from most companies) and chose a delivery day. It arrived at midday and every single roll was green and healthy (I'm no stranger to turf and I've had some really awful stuff in the past from B&Q and the likes).
Laid it all within 5hrs of receiving it and luckily had 4 straight days of rain now and it's thriving and looking amazing!

Worst delivery and customer service ever!
Worst service ever! Ordered turf to arrive on Thursday and paid for 2 people to lay it. By 5.45pm still no turf! I agree with the previous post …. What is the point of a delivery date if the delivery can turn up 24 hours after the selected date?? Especially for a natural product.
The call centre staff are rude and fob you off whenever you call them. I called them just before 6pm and they insisted the turf would arrive. When there was no turf at 6pm I called again and got through to the overflow team who couldn’t do anything at all. Such a run around and inconvenience. not forgetting the waste of money on the labour that’s just been sitting around all day.
They expect me to keep the turf which has been sitting on their truck for over 24 hours in 30 degrees heat. When I raised this as an issue, the call centre staff couldn’t care less and in fact said to me I would have to prove the turf had been damaged and send them photos before they do anything. Doesn’t take a genius to work out that it’s not going to survive in this heat after a full day of being wrapped up in a truck!
In total I ordered 460 rolls of turf. Wish I had given my business to someone else.
Literally the most frustrating experience ever.
Save your money and time and go to someone else.

Horrendous service!! I ordered 53sqm of turf on Friday 4th June for the following Thursday (plenty of time for them to get it processed) by 6pm Thursday I had no turf! I called the company that declared they had another 24 hours to deliver as per the terms and conditions! So I’m not sure the point in selecting a delivery date if they can come the day after!! By 6pm the next day still no turf!! So I had to take two days off work and pay someone that was suppose to lay the turf for two days!!! So I’m now massively out of pocket! I’d save your time and money and go elsewhere!!!

Should have checked out the reviews before ordering turf. Apparently the T&C's say that the delivery can be 24 hours late. Supposed to be here Friday and turned up Monday. Very poor condition. Quite yellow in places. Would never deal with this company again. Wouldn't order this turf even if it was free!

My turf comes on time but topsoil never arrived..... what is the point, phone the customer service told me would be delivered the same day but maybe later afternoon, ok then waiting for other 5-6 hour nothing turns up, called again then tell me the delivery changed week after...will never use them again

My turf was due to arrive yesterday and it hasn’t arrived. I spoke to the company at 5pm when my delivery hadn’t arrived and I was told it would be here by 8am this morning and it’s now nearly 10am and I can’t contact anyone from the company as the lines have been ‘busy’ since 8am. I have a workman here which I am paying for by the hour with nothing to do!

Fantastic quality & service
Ordered over 200m2 of turf, delivered bang on time as advised and also can not believe with this quantity there was not one badly cut piece of turf. Top soil and wood chips also ordered and as expected. Garden now looks great, really happy with service and quality.
