From a potential buyer

Tried to view a property in West stockwith on 2 separate occasions. First time…the agent rang to cancel a few hrs before due to the agent meeting us getting a double puncture. Fair enough… these things happen so I asked if the viewing could be later on the same day. Due to work commitments between myself and my daughter it very hard to marry up our days off. I was advised that they would look into this and call me back. No call ever came! A few days later I called to reschedule and highlighted that no one had returned my call as promised on my last attempt to view. No apology offered but another viewing rescheduled. Fast forward a few days, I’m on route to view said property (which is a 40minute drive away) and I receive a call to say the agent meeting us at the property is running 10minutes behind schedule. Baring in mind this call came only 10mins before the appt time and I was 8minutes away from the property. No explanation was given as to why but 10mins is no biggy so we arrived at the property and waited! …and waited, and waited!!
We waited over half an hr and no one showed so we decided to leave. This is an empty property that has been for sale with a previous agent so presumably the seller shifted to Grice & Hunter in the hope of a better service.
If this is the standard offered to buyers then good luck to anyone selling through this agent. Unbelievably slack and very poor customer care!!!

Top Estate agents

This company has been the estate agent for 3 house sales for us in recent years the latest of which was quite problematic due to other parties incompetence or just plain inability to grasp the problem. The whole team went out of their way to try to smooth the path and problem solve every step of the way.For me they are the top performing estate agents where no problem is too small and they pay great attention to the details. Thank you yet again for another successful project. Sharon and Jim Montgomery.

Use at your peril

Use Grice and Hunter at your peril. I instructed them last year and they appeared to have sold property but virtually no communication followed until I decided that, despite various phone calls that weren't responded to, I decided to contact the proposed buyer myself to find out what was happening. It turned out that the buyer had pulled out several months previously....again with no contact from Grice & Hunter. I heard absolutely nothing from them in almost 8 months except for one call I had to make to them.
There was no after care, chasing and checking on progress etc at all.
The irony is that they are trying to charge me £250 withdrawal fee now as I wish to try a different agent!
Please be very careful in getting involved with these people, there are many other agents to chose from.
There are other parts to this story that reflect badly on the agent but I think everyone will get the gist of this review. The emails that I have now had from them demanding there money are totally unrepentant regarding their poor service!

Very disappointed with service from…

Very disappointed with service from Grice & Hunter Doncaster branch. I live 170 miles from Doncaster and am only able to visit once a month. On both occasions I have tried to view a property in Finningley there has been nobody available to show me around. Because my time is limited I would have thought that somebody in the branch could have met me there on a Sunday but apparently nobody can be bothered to give up half an hour of their precious time to clinch a sale.

If I had a property to sell in South Yorkshire I definitely wouldn’t use this company.
