Goodwin Electrical did a complete rewire of my 1870s house to replace the 60 year old wiring system. This was a two week job which also included running external wires through the garden to my detached garage. Goodwin's kept in touch while doing the work, and made several good suggestions re relocating switches, plug sockets etc. Very happy with the work as usual. Have used them for several jobs previously as they have also installed a new fuse board in my son's house, and did some other electrical work for him last year. I am surprised to read complaints that they are reluctant to come and quote for work that they do not have time to do, as this seems quite reasonable to me. My quote was done in September but the work could not be done until November., however this is quite normal as all decent tradesmen are particularly busy at the moment. I was happy to wait, and will happily use them again.

Had to have a solar panel inverter tested and then replaced. I was kept up to date via email and was given plenty of notice of when to expect the work to be done.
Father and son turned up within 10 minutes of time arranged and just got on with the job. No mess no fuss.
Explained and helped set up the monitoring app.
Overall very happy with the service I received. I would recommend them.

Installation of a Zappi EV charge point. Great service from Goodwin Electrical, on time arrival, prepped and ready to do the job. The team were obliging, helpful and courteous. The work was completed neatly, efficiently and spotlessly clean when completed. The final cost of the work was as quoted, no 'extras'. Recommended.

don't bother trying to get a quote...they are too busy...we had quite a lot of work potentially for an electrician....but after emails back and forth...it would seem they want the work but don't want to quote for anything...dont bother

We were having a long standing problem with our electric tripping at random very worrying so found Goodwin Electician via web page their cv indicated they fault find so taking a gamble requested they call to help solve problem .Absolutely brilliant Ryan &his team of apprentices located problem within an hour .Unfortunately they couldn't complete the work that week as very busy however he isolated problem area so we had a few sockets to use .App.made for the following week arrived exactly on time very respectful of home &contents repaired what was needed &adviced on other aspects of work.Invoice &quotes all send quickly &as a result will be using their services for extra work.Very professional team &nice to see the firm is training future electrician via the apprenticeship scheme.Highly re commend this firm for their fairness in price &honesty in opinion.

This is a small company looking to ambitiously grow. Substantial growth requires experienced project managers, superintendents and foreman.
There foreman are the most experienced but they are not in charge. Wage is great, but the hours aren’t (less than 20 hours a week ).

As for the project manager (under pressure to produce), definitely a weak link in the company constantly caving into pressures from other contractors or engineers. Then he/she calls a safety meeting talking at the workers how important it is to be safe. Turns around then starts rushing his guys to get there tasks done. This is how accidents happen, especially when due diligence is left out of the process.
For example, a 120 volt panel and 460 volt panel are getting installed within 10 feet of each other, cables are pulled in. Then they rush an electrician to get in and get the panels terminated. When the panels were terminated and ready for commissioning. Not one person double checked there work (zero quality assurance / zero quality control). So when commissioned they tested the 120 volt panel and it was fed 460 volts.
Basically the project manager that rushed the job started yelling at his crew and throwing them under the bus. An experienced PM would have assigned one experienced journey man whose only job is to make sure cables are terminated where the prints say.

A young superintendent in charge of personnel is very disorganized, scatterbrained, unclear and always annoyed. Seems like he picks up a lot of different tasks and forgets about the smaller matters that he is in charge of.

This company’s mistakes that have been made within the last years were monumental and should hurt reputations for future jobs. In a time where reputation, professionalism and quality are necessary for a business to advance for the future, Goodwin is lacking key personnel in management to move forward for sustainable growth.

I'd love to give positive feedback but unfortunately for me they let me down. After explaining about two previous companies that let me down, they then let me down! The initial booking procedure was very good but after waiting in all afternoon I called and was told he'd double booked. Not good

Bill Godwin and his son came to our flats to carry out the electrical installation report and also electrical work carried out on the fire alarm
Work carried out was both professional and prompt. Area was cleaned afterwards
Would recommend always for advice and guidance and any electrical work that needs to be carried out

We have used Goodwin Electrical for a number of jobs including solar panel installation and electrical work in the home. The work has always been very good and Bill's competence and professionalism is always very reassuring. Most recently Bill installed an electric boiler and managed the whole project for us (including bringing together plumbers etc) making things much easier. Deadlines were always met and the job done very well.

Arrived on time very friendly,efficient and knowledgeable. Explained things to us as he was doing our Electrical safety test.Went above and beyond our expectations. Would definitely recommend and use this company again.
