Good Sam, UK
Good Sam, UK,
Been on the app for a few years now. It seems a great app, but unfortunately when alerted that someone nearby needs assistance. It does not tell you why.
I have sent feedback, but get no reply. Why can't the app inform you, what help is required, I.E, cardiac arrest, chocking, bleed, etc when the call comes through. Such a basic thing.
The GoodSam is not reliable at all
The GoodSam is not reliable at all. Everything seemed fine when booking, but later I found out that the reservation was not confirmed. It is also a huge hassle to contact customer service. In short, both time and money are wasted.

GoodSAM Roadside Assistance is a SCAM
My first attempt to use the service was when the starter went out on our Motorhome.
The problem was that we had experienced a wreck with our travel trailer (and tow vehicle) 2 weeks earlier so upgrading our GoodSAM roadside assistance program was not top of mind.
The first operator upgraded our membership but the 2nd individual we were transferred to rejected our claim as it was "too soon."
Last week, while in Mexico, we had a flat tire at a Trailer park we had landed at.
After a painful ten minutes relating the Mexican address, we got to the price of the tire.
GoodSAM: "We need to put a $600 hold for the price of the tire"
Me: "I found 3 tires on Amazon and one in town, all under $200, keep your (explative) service."
For the record: When navigating to goodsam.com, you will be rudely invaded with a modal pop-up saying :
"50% off* Roadside Assistance Plans
New members only. Offer expires November 24, 2025."

GoodSAM insurance NOT worth the Hassle
GoodSAM insurance NOT worth the Hassle. I got a 3 year complimentary membership when I boght my RV and will NOT renew.
My son a State Trooper lives with me and GoodSAms insurance wanted his proof of insurance. I sent the proof 3x and then my checking account was charged $54 as they claimed they never received the 3 emails that I had sent. They also didn't have record of the 2 phone calls I had made to confirm they had the received the information ! ! I also didn't authorize automatic payments from my checking account but they took money anyway. Each time I spoke with their representative I told them they were not to automatically renew my policy nor were they to access my checking account all of which they ignored ! ! ! I'd stay far far away from GoodSams. I'm currently moving my RV insurance to another provider.

TOO BAD WE COULDN'T GIVE NO STARS!!!!!!!Good Sam RV Insurance review
I am so disatisfied with this service and claims. My RV a full time home burned to the ground. It has been a complete nightmare dealing with them and getting a claim to go through. Still waiting since July 7th. Worst experience of our lives. Stick with USAA Geico or their affiliates. Please Veterans go the other way! Treated us like liars and cheats we were not even home POOR HELP!

What a clunky operation for Android phones
What a clunky operation if you have an android phone. It is very easy to get into a mobius strip of commands. I had to ask my partner to use her apple phone to update my id. Please look into this as I'm sure many are falling at the first hurdle.
I joined 5 weeks ago
I joined 5 weeks ago. Endless telephone calls to them to make clear what I was happy to do, which was Pick Up and Deliver, within a 5 mile radius. I has three requests on one day: 17 miles, 14 miles, and 8 miles.
Today I accepted a request for Pick and Deliver to be at the Westmorland Street UCH, in Westminster. I was given a name of the contact. Was was to be there at 8am. Two phone calls, and I text, and no one knew who the contact was. I waited an hour and a quarter for the contact to ring me. No reply.
I can't pretend I didn't find the app a bit complicated.
I imagine many of the volunteers are from the older age group, and the instructions on how to use the app are not simple (confirmed by a family member who works for Meta!). Dealing with the polite people on the GOODsam phone line helped a bit, but it would have been beeter to have met someone in person. Alas there are fewer and fewer situations where this happens. So, after 5 weeks, and no action, and then turning up for 'work', and there was no 'work', I have given up.
Being taken advantage of?
The only requests, in my area, are from a pharmacy asking for a volunteer to use their own vehicle to deliver medicines to customers. I offered to help out for a couple of hours and quite enjoyed it. When I asked why they needed a driver, I was told that their regular driver was off work sick. That was a week ago and the pharmacy are still requesting a volunteer. Call me cynical, but I did not think that I would be volunteering to help a business to cover absences.
I have received no email, as I was promised, which would enable me to claim my expenses hence, until I do, I will not be volunteering again. Not a good start.
Update
I have now received the email and have submitted an expense claim after chasing it up twice.
Bad at paying out expenses.
Have been stewarding since May 2021 but recently it has been extremely hard to get any expenses paid. People give their time willingly and sometimes I have worked over the hours required to help with the sheer numbers requiring vaccinating however we have costs. We have the time because a lot of us don’t work and these expenses are not budgeted for, been waiting 3 weeks now. Some of the volunteers I work with have given up trying to claim. Not good enough, we are not in this to gain anything but we shouldn’t have to pay out for the privilege.
I think the all the vaccinating ‘non doctors surgery’ clinics will be closing soon, good job don’t think my finances will cope with the delays much more. I know it is SAP Concur who pay out but Goodsam employed them too.
Vastly irritating pointless logo
I have completed some 6200 hours as a responder but hate the stupid logo. When my phone rings with an alert, you have to click on the crass logo and that delays answering the alert. I do not need a brainless stick man to make me into an inefficient Responder.
How do you register two volunteers from same address??
Very hard to register two possible volunteers from one e-mail address - only seems to want to recognise one person.
Wasted my time filing in forms several times.
Frequently use the Responder function
Frequently use the Responder function, fantastic application and works well. Attended multiple arrests via the app whilst off duty.
I undertook my first Goodsam responder…
I undertook my first Goodsam responder role today at Morrisons car park Byker, vaccination bus. The duty was for four hours and the bus will be there for the next few Sunday mornings. I enjoyed the experience, I love talking to people anyway and both colleagues and clients were pleasant and friendly.
Only a few negatives....
Very few people knew we were there and had we not ' gone out' and spoken to shoppers I think we would have seen quite a few less people. We could have done with some bottled water to offer clients an after vax drink to promote rehydration and it would have been fun to have had some ' I've had my vaccination stickers' and leaflets. Many of the people who came for 2nd vax already had stickers.
What a waste of time and effort
What a waste of time and effort, this app just does not work!
Last call 333km away - am I really the closest?
I am keen to help, but I keep getting calls from hundreds of miles away (call just now was 333km away). I had set my zone as 10km so I can attend quickly in person if needed. This is a recurring issue, and seemingly no way to stop it other than reset/re-register, or turn it off. Such a shame that IT can’t be fixed, as surely not just me so many calls rejected / fewer people helped as a result.
The worst thing I've ever seen…
The worst thing I've ever seen downloaded 4 times and called the help line who do their best but this app is the most stupid thing I've ever seen - you log in and it doesn't do anything - why wouldn't they trial it first - I've asked if they need me to steward to call me as I'm not using the app / clicked every icon it's not like I've not given it a chance
I’ve been trying to register to…
I’ve been trying to register to volunteer for 10 months. Nothing but technical issues costing hours and hours of my labour. It’s also disability discrimination as the tech issues make it inaccessible.
GoodSAM
I downloaded the app - awaited eagerly to do a "shift" I was waiting a couple of hours for calls. When I eventually got a call I accepted - but then nothing, not details to phone the requester back.
I called the "tech help" who advised to delete and re add, this I did several times but no change.
I finally gave up as I couldn't help anyone!!!
I downloaded this to join the UK's…
I downloaded this to join the UK's Covid-19 response. I've had nothing but technical issues with it and there is no technical support available that I can find. A real pity.
