Good Oaks care services
I came across Good Oaks purely by chance after needing to find a care provider for my elderly father who is sadly suffering with vascular dementia. An initial phone conversation led to a home visit where my Dad and I were immediately blown away by James and Amanda who just simply talked with us and explained in easy to understand, no pressure language, what service they offered and how they could help us. We really appreciated the way they listened and showed a genuine understanding of our situation and what we needed and how that may need to change and be adjusted as time went on (and it did). We had no hesitation in asking Good Oaks to proceed with a care package for my Dad which was very professionally and reassuringly drawn up into a formal contract. Amanda then became my Dad’s primary carer for a period of time and it was such a relief to see how quickly she engaged with him and earned his trust. Amanda is an amazing human being and I cannot thank her enough for those initial visits which I know my Dad looked forward to, being in her company. Once Amanda felt that she had reached a point where my Dad was in a stable routine, she was able to delegate the visits and share these with other members of the team, namely Carrie, Michal, Jo, Shannon and Teresa who were all just brilliant. As my Dad’s condition gradually worsened, both mentally and physically, we asked Good Oaks to increase the frequency of visits to include waking night care and this was arranged and put into place without any fuss or delay. I am simply blown away by the level of professionalism, personal touch and above all genuine care shown to my Dad and us as his family, and would wholeheartedly recommend this first class organisation to others who might find themselves in a similar situation. Sadly, my Dad has today moved into a care home as his condition has deteriorated further still but I’ve been quite overwhelmed by the comments from the Good Oaks team which reflect how looking after my Dad has touched their lives, as much as they have touched ours. I have no other words but to say a huge thank you to the whole team for providing an amazing service and for being such wonderful human beings. Keep up the fantastic work you are doing and you will only go from strength to strength. Ian.
