Spoke to Luke over the phone twice before deciding which company to go with for a new boiler. He wasn't pushy, he explained everything clearly and was very helpful, the engineer Dan, was very good and cleaned up behind himself, would highly recommend so far have no complaints ...

Good local company that is responsive to customer needs. I had a new combi boiler installed with them in 2023, a Worcester Bosch. I used their 24 mth interest free finance option to enable me to afford it. I have a 12year warranty with them and I pay them monthly for an annual boiler service/Gas safety certificate. They have always responded professionally to any issues I’ve had and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Glow Green offered the best value for money versus the different suppliers I evaluated and the initial communication was very clear and proactive. This statement is based on assessing the same product from the major energy suppliers Octopus and OVO. They also respected my decisions to shop around and evaluate the different quotes I received.

The process around DNO approvals was poor, whilst I acknowledge this is outside of Glow Greens control but it is still part of the overall service. The communication was unclear - on the same phone call I didn’t get the same amnesty on whether the DNO was complete and approved or not. Customer service was variable - especially around the DNO and change to install dates when I called.

My biggest issue was the resulting delay to installation date by a month and loosing the solar generation and earning potential over August.

The rest of the commissioning and installation was positive. The scaffolding installers mostly respected my request to not damage plants in the garden.

They booked and sorted out service date, then e mailed me to let me know. One the day the engineer turned up after giving me a call to say he was on his way. Worked efficiently and left area clean and tidy. Office did a follow up call to see if I was satisfied and happy.

The sales process was okay. We was very thorough with out expectations regarding deliveries, time frames and quality of workmanship.

The scaffold team turned up a day early when when nobody was in the house due to lack of co-ordination from the office. However they returned on the correct and the agreed date.

We requested that the material is received by the install team, it was not practical that a 300kg delivery is taken and moved by their client. We would also be liable for damage and checking the delivery which is ridiculous situation, they offered to leave the delivery on the side of the road & the delivery driver would not assist with the logistics. We would also be liable to theft and living in a nice area but a busy road that was not an option. This situation went on for 2 weeks, this was agreed with the sales team and supposedly arranged prior to install. When speaking to the head office staff, a member of staff spoke to me me as I was the issue and not their continued failures. When I asked her if she felt it was speak to their client in such a manner she was equally as dismissive.

The PV & battery team, this was cancelled on a couple of occasions, with various excuses about reliability of the sub-contractors. Eventually we had an install team & delivery on the same day, but without the correct roof brackets. Luckily the install had other brackets they could utilise. I will say the contractor were very efficient and helpful and they were the only shining light during this experience.

The scaffold remained on our property for long after the install, only when I raised a complaint to the complaints department did we get some sort of traction.

As Glow Green do not actually survey the works, they couldn’t install all the proposed PV panels as they couldn’t fit in the available space. I took it upon myself to stop the install until we renegotiated the terms of the contract, that was resolved quickly with a £1000 discount.

This led to another issue, the spare panel. This was in my garden for 2 weeks, there was nonsense about it being in a pallet (which we didn’t have), it could only be lifted by 2 people despite me moving it we ease. There were multiple issues with such a basic task & in the end the panel they insisted on being protected & on a pallet, a rubbish removal chap picked it up (on his own) and threw in a waste removal van. I’m still trying to understand what all the nonsense was about.

We also have had 3 deliveries since the install was completed, they still sit in my hallway. I won’t open or throw them away as I do not want to give Glow Green an excuse to add charges.

The paperwork, it’s now been over 3 weeks since the install and no MCO paper which I believe is to be issued with 10 days of the install.

To wrap up the review, AVOID ! There are local and more reliable installers near where you live, give them a try.
