Can’t recommend these guys enough, Sergie and his team have done an amazing job. Packed everything in Mallorca, kept in their storage for 2 years and arranged delivery to Malta, dealt with all the paperwork etc. our furniture, clothes etc all arrived in perfect condition, no breakages, no damage from damp or humidity, everything was immaculate and exactly as it was packed. A fantastic job. Thank you.

They merit zero stars. They performed a move for us from the US to Spain. On arrival items were damaged. On chest of drawers was completely destroyed. When they arrived the handed me a leg from a piece if furniture. Realizing where it came from I unwrapped it immediately and found that a brand new chest of drawers was literally in pieces.
They refused to pay for the replacement saying I was not insured. They had in fact never offered insurance so I presumed I was covered.
Do not trust your personal belongings with this company.

My furniture and effects have been moved all over the world with different removal companies and Gil Stauffer have to be the worst removal company in over 30 years. Because of past experience, I tend to pack everything in boxes that can fit in boxes and trunks, and these items normally arrive safely. It takes an exceptionally unprofessional company to damage the furniture they have wrapped. My Georgian bedsteps (in incredible condition for an item 200 years old) that had been moved countless times over the 30+ years arrived completely destroyed. I had insurance with the Mallorca office that arranged the move and storage, but Sergi who was my contact has completely blanked me and is never there to take my call. It is not only the Mallorca office that is dreadful, the Malaga office is beyond deplorable. My items were finally delivered over five weeks late after much gaslighting, demand for more money, lies and more lies by both Mallorca and Malaga offices. At one point Sergi admitted he wouldn’t blame me for suing as I been treated so badly, but it doesn’t mean he behaves honourably since my furniture arrived damaged! There is no insurance money forthcoming for the destroyed steps. Pablo in the Malaga office is a disgrace and the delivery men were the most unprofessional ever, and I believe most of the damage was due to their lack of care and generally surly attitude. Considering this was a fairly easy move from one part of Spain to another, not one of my across the world ones, I would not believe how stressful it would turn out and what unpleasant people I would encounter with this company. In my experience, Gil Stauffer’s staff was overpriced, unprofessional, dishonest and unpleasant to deal with, so I hope this review helps someone avoid having a horrible, distressing experience. This experience spans the period from May 2025 to present, although delivery finally happened September 2025, as I’m still waiting a response and for insurance money that is not forthcoming.

GS was a great company to work with. They were friendly, accommodating and professional and did everything they said they would do. All our furniture arrived without incident and despite having arranged to have everything deposited in one place (the garage) the crew were happy to distribute our possessions over 3 levels when the garage didn't work. Very grateful to them. Would definitely recommend this firm.

Great service

We used Gil-Stauffer for our international move from Barcelona to the United States, and the experience exceeded every expectation. We also ended up using their storage service for much longer than originally planned, and throughout the entire process, their team remained professional, transparent, patient, and genuinely kind. Whenever we needed support or adjustments, they always worked with us to find solutions.

Everything arrived in perfect condition — not a single item damaged — and we couldn’t be more satisfied or grateful. It is rare to feel so well taken care of during a move of this scale.

We highly recommend Gil-Stauffer and would choose them again without hesitation.

DO NOT fall into the trap! If you enjoy paying more than agreed upon, don't mind your belongings arriving 3 or 4 months later than promised, having things broken and others lost, and not only do they refuse to take responsibility but they also won't even answer your communication attempts, then this is your ideal moving company!

With one important distinction: the Valencia team (Pedro, the Fernandos, Ernesto, etc.) were excellent. EVERYTHING else was a disaster!

This especially applies to Raquel Amo, who takes the lack of professionalism and the art of gaslighting to an admirable level! When it became impossible to speak with her due to her supposed emotional instability and repeated disrespect, we asked for her superior, and her response was that she 'doesn't have a superior.' I would have loved to meet someone in Gil Stauffer with the minimum customer service skills.

Undoubtedly, this was one of the worst service experiences we have ever had, and I'd be happy to share the details with anyone who asks to prevent others from being scammed.

We chose the company as they were recommended by a removals company in Alicante to facilitate our removals from Gran Canaria to Alicante.
The guys were great, However be careful of overcharging!! We agreed a price and measured every item to ensure we were within the quote, even allowing 15% over the calculations once the van was loaded and on its way we were informed there was an additional 500euros of excess which was not justified????. However they had our stuff and were held to ransom to pay the fabricated extra. Be mindful of this practice.

Fantastic service! If I could give ten stars I would! Very nice guys who respected and assisted me in the light of my disabilities and worked hard and fast, although always prepared to slow it down if I needed reassurance or a break. As a 75 year old single handicapped lady, moving for the first time in 14 years was terrifying. They all made it work well and unpacked at my direction. Nothing lost or broken. Special shout out to boss, Sergi, who was an absolute star 'babying' me through the entire process and giving me not only an excellent price but also a discount so I could use my own cleaner rather than a stranger. If I ever move again, God forbid, (it will probably be to the cemetery!) I would definitely use Gil Stauffer Mallorca again!!!

Do not recommend. I paid for insurance for the full value of the cargo and one of my lounge chairs arrived broken, I had it repaired (considerably less expensive than replacing it), provided the invoice, and have yet to hear back, they've directly stopped answering and its been more than three months. I chase on a bi monthly basis but still no reply. Will probably lodge a complaint with better business bureau in Spain against Gil Stauffer

I am writing these review out desperation and frustration. I have used Gil Sttaufer before and was very happy with the service the reason why I booked and paid them upfront for my recent moving from Spain to the DR. It has been the worst experience ever. I have spent the last five months asking where my belongings are and when they finally get there they do not follow up either. While I am charged port fees they do not take care of a thing like having an original BL ready. It is simply a nightmare to deal with them. My moving was divided in 3 parts, I am dealing with the second. I am dreading the arrival of the third part. Just to think that I have to go through the same nonsense again makes me sick.

Gil Stauffer was the worst company for moving I have ever used. I would never recommend it. They don’t take care of you belongings, they brake them and stain them and they don’t even care they do it.
They sell you they will take care of all and is totally a fraud. They lie and they know it. They just want your money and they don’t care how they take care of your items in your house and how they deliver them to your new place. I want to put a demand. I will

I have used this company many times over 10 years and had recommended them highly to the expat community. Sadly this recent time moving from Gran Canaria to the U.K. I had many issues, the most frustrating being that my new tv and all my crockery was broken. I had paid €2500 insurance and although I received my items in April, now November and I am still chasing my insurance money! I email twice a week and have heard nothing, I completed the paperwork for the claim months ago. The lack of communication is appalling and how I would not recommend then incase others experience the same problem. A response would be good!

My wife and I relocated to Spain from the UK in March of 2006, we instructed Gil Stauffer to pack and store our items before delivering to our new house in Galicia Spain.
Our items were delivered in October 2006, they had obviously been stored incorrectly as the boxes were soiled. When our mattress was delivered there was a long tyre mark on the wrapping rendering the item unusable. Fragile items were packed incorrectly in used packing boxes and were subsequently found damaged. I noticed items were missing and realised that the majority of our gardening equipment and tools had not been delivered.
I spent some months dealing with the London office trying to claim off the insurance which was a terrible experience and in the end they only refunded a fraction of the value about one year later.
This experience was in 2006 and reading other more recent reviews shows the company has not really changed.
To use old packing boxes, have staff who clearly do not know how to pack items correctly or deal with customers and not take care of cherished items is unreasonable and totally unacceptable.

Stay away from Gil Stauffer!!! After paying thousands of dollars I received disquieting treatment at the end!!! Never Again!!!
I used this company moving from US to Spain. Apparently they are partners in Spain for US Company Sea & Air so I had no choice. Receiving my container at Gil Stauffer location in Crevelliente (Alicante) on January 18th, 2017 went rather smoothly except for the paper work.
I relocated to Spain permanently and I provided tons of documents proving that I was living in America for the last 36 years. Regardless of this they charged me duty for my personal belongings purchased over the period of 36 years of my life. What’s interesting they never provided any invoice from Custom Duty? They just added 550.89 EUR to their bill; it was my mistake not asking for one. Besides I also paid port fees of 629.00 EUR without any back up. Big mistake! Moving from one continent to another is a huge ordeal so I was happy that all my stuff arrived to Spain in sealed container and untouched. Pay attention! Don’t trust anybody!
I had to rent a storage space from them for few months. When I was finally ready to receive my goods at home I notified Mr. Marcos Trallero in the middle of May. Because I paid a large amount of money from door to door service and I was told that all the boxes Sea & Air (US Shipper) packed (39 to be exact) Gill Stauffer will unpack at my house, reassemble all the furniture and remove all debris. I confirmed all these with Mr.Trallero, actually his secretary Esther Lician assured me that all will be taking care of and I shouldn’t worry about.
Unfortunately it was a totally different story when the workers arrived. First of all they went to different town, 8 km from where I live. Because I don’t speak Spanish I had to involve my friend to point them on the right directions. Las Ramblas is a very well known Golf Course in Costa Blanca. Still… they couldn’t find the place. Finally after two hours driving around from east to west they arrived. In the meantime I was so anxious to find out where they are so I called Ester Lician few times but at some point she stopped answering the phone.
They brought all the boxes home and then the problem begun. I asked them to start unpacking all those boxes Gil Stauffer was responsible for: furniture, lamps, paintings and basically big items. They refused! They started arguing with me instead and wasting so much time calling some people with no avail. Because of the language barrier I tried calling Mr.Trallero and Esther Lician but they didn’t care to answer the phone. I made 25 calls to Gil Stauffer that afternoon. The receptionist couldn’t speak English but at some point she told me to call in 15 minutes, when I did they were gone, it was after 5:00 pm. I was so mad and hopeless I didn’t have a choice I had to convince those 3 people to do what they suppose to. They told me that their supervisor gave them instructions to bring all the boxes home and not to touch anything else. I believe they were talking about Mr. Trallero.
One of the workers was more cooperative then those two other men and he started to unpack my stuff. I said I won’t sign any papers unless they do the right thing. After while those two others followed him. It was very unpleasant! They were upset; they didn’t care less if they damaged the floor or anything else. They put the bed together without any tools and the headboard almost fell on the floor the next day. They scratched the marble floors, too bad I couldn’t see it before they left. I noticed all damages in the next few days when I was unpacking my personal belongings.
The whole thing was disgusting! After they left Mr. Trallero called me around 7:30 pm and asked me if I want them to come back the next day to finish the job. He also had nerve…. He offered me a discount on any future services, it was really laughable!!!
