They make organising trips so easy

They make organising trips so easy. When we visit a new location, the first place I look is Get Your Guide to see what's on and book it. The information is very clear, with reminders and directions to the event. There are excursions for every budget and every taste. In case of any kind of dificulties their response is very quick and helpful.

Disappointing Lisbon Tuk Tuk Tour



We were very dissatisfied with our tuk tuk tour around Lisbon.
We booked a 2 hour tour with Getyourguide as we have used them before and always had a great tour with a passionate local. This tour was far from this.

Our main issue is that the guide remained silent during the tour apart from a few facts about the dates of a couple of buildings. Not being local is not too much of a problem for us but the guide needs to be passionate about the city and provide anecdotes and information that may not be in all the guide books.
He also played very inappropriate music very loudly.
The last complaint is that we paid for 2 hour tour - it finished after 90 minutes.

Definitely not good value at all.

I also tried to inform you of all this by email and never received any response !

I can no longer book through GetYourGuide

I can no longer book through GetYourGuide with any confidence. I recently discovered that if a tour operator cancels on you last minute—even under false pretences—GYG does not allow you to leave a review. By blocking feedback on cancelled trips, GYG is curating a false reality where only positive experiences are visible, removing any deterrent for unreliable operators.

In my case, a tour operator cancelled my tour citing "roadworks," which I proved to be false as I took a different tour to the same area that same day. The reality is likely that they cancelled because I was the only person booked.

In emails with GYG customer services, where I provided proof and they acknowledging this false force majeure, they still stated: they will not provide updates on any investigation, offered no good-will voucher for the 4x price difference I had to pay for a last-minute replacement tour, and confirmed I am prohibited from leaving a review to warn others. Therefore, I am taking my business elsewhere

Easy to use and trustworthy

I have used GetYourGuide for booking excursions and overall had a very positive experience. I participated in one tour in Tunisia and also canceled another booking. In both cases, everything worked smoothly. The booking process, payment, and communication with the tour provider were all seamless, and the excursion itself was excellent. The cancellation process was just as efficient—the refund was issued already on the next working day, which was very impressive.

From a usability perspective, there are a few areas that could be improved. There are many tours with very similar descriptions, which can make choosing between them somewhat confusing. Additionally, the price shown on the initial listing did not always match the final price, as it only became clear after selecting the pickup location. Comparing different tours is also not very straightforward.

That said, I was ultimately able to make a good choice and was satisfied with the experience overall. I would definitely use GetYourGuide again.

Easy to book

It was easy to book and the experiences were enjoyable. I would use it again in the future. One thing to note is the names of experiences can be confusing and it can be difficult to pick a tour that was recommended. I used the comments section to narrow down based on tour guide name.

Fascinating Catacombs Tour

The catacombs tour was super interesting. Our guide spoke excellent English, was knowledgeable and funny. We learned a great deal not just about the catacombs but about Saint Gennaro and his liquefied blood and also the fightback of the neighbourhood against the Mafia. So by going in the tour you support not only the catacombs but the neighbourhood.

Really disappointing company

Really disappointing company - I booked a tour to Robben Island in Cape Town through these guys for the next day, and it was already cancelled due to the weather at the time of booking, though it was showing as available. I showed up for the tour and it wasn’t on. I wasn’t at any point told that it was cancelled - it seems they completely missed putting a cancelled tour as available for me to book and plan. Extra frustrating as the weather is perfect today, yet for some reason it’s cancelled - and they weee too chaotic to tell me. So disappointing!!
They subsequently admitted it was a system error on their side that allowed me to book, yet refuse to give any compensation for my costs incurred and inconvenience. Utterly disappointing!!

Great company

I booked 2 excursions in Marrakesh having used Get Your Guide previously I was confident the trips would be well run and informative.
Both tours were exceptional and the guides both friendly and knowledgeable.
I have used this company in lots of different countries and will continue to

Banff: Get Your guide excusions, RUN, SCAM!

We want to Banff. An adventure on the Columbia ice field and a tour of the 5 most beautiful lakes. To avoid at all costs! They removed my reviews! False advertising. We were picked up in an old personal minivan around 10 a.m. and returned around 4:30 p.m. .not 12 hours as advertised. We were seated all the way in the back with very poor visibility. It was also very difficult to understand the guide when he spoke, which was rare anyway due to his strong Indian accent. He has been in Canada for two years . He doesn’t know the area! The excursion photo is misleading ,a huge bus with big wheel for the icefield, We didn't go to the icefield at all! a complete tourist trap! There was no actual icefield , we visit only the lakes and Johnson Canyon. Save your money, take your own car, and you’ll have a much better day!

How not to get your guide and stay healthy

We left after just 5 minutes and lost around €100 with no refund.
This was, without exaggeration, the dirtiest place we have ever entered. The smell immediately raised concerns, and within moments it was clear something was very wrong. As first-time visitors to Japan, this was especially shocking given the country’s usual reputation for cleanliness and high hygiene standards.
We were asked to leave our bags in a plastic container and then handle old kimonos for the activity. These garments were clearly unwashed and in extremely poor condition. There were hundreds of them, many visibly stained with what appeared to sweat and worse.
At a basic level, this presents serious hygiene concerns and potential contamination or toxin risks. I have no idea how this is legal. It honestly looked like garments that should have been disposed of, not reused for an activity.
The overall environment felt unsafe and completely unacceptable.
It is hard to understand how this operation is allowed.
We contacted GetYourGuide but received no response and no refund.
Based on this experience, we strongly recommend avoiding this activity. Save your money and prioritize your health.
