We found a motorhome seller via Trade Me called Getaway Motorhomes. They behaved in a very unfair and untrustworthy way. They repeatedly assured us that our vehicle would be ready, but after four days of delays, they stopped responding altogether. On the final day, they sent a vague message about issues with the car and then never answered our calls again. Overall, this situation cost us more than NZD 2,000. Getaway Motorhomes is owned by the JUCY holding company, Travvia.

Extremely poor communication and unreliable service

Very disappointing experience. Jonathan repeatedly made promises day after day, but there was no follow-up or action. We had allowed three full weeks for a vehicle to be organised for my family visiting from overseas, with a clear timeline and expectations communicated upfront.

We were fully prepared to proceed with a $100,000 vehicle purchase, yet despite this, communication was consistently poor. Phone calls went unanswered, messages were not returned, and we were left with nothing but empty assurances. When my family finally arrived, we were left stranded for an entire week with no vehicle and no clear explanation.

Professionalism and basic communication are essential in a transaction of this size. If delays or issues arise, honesty and responsiveness are the bare minimum. Unfortunately, neither were demonstrated here.

I would not recommend dealing with this company based on my experience.
