How to get a new suitcase if they breake yours, go from EUR 48 to EUR 98,9.

As Eurowings does not handle their own luggage, but is the responsible part of how it get done, this message fits very well here.

Short summary: It took 28 emails and over a month to get a new suitcase. We startet at a voucher of EUR 48 and ended in a suitcase with the value of EUR 98,9.

After the flight, my suitcase was damaged beyond repair, and Dolfi1920 admitted that.

Then they came with their first offer:
They estimated my suitcase to be two years old and a new cost of EUR 60. That resulted in a voucher for EUR 48.
(Try finding a new suitcase on their webpage for that price.)

In fact, my suitcase was 2 months old, never used (a Christmas present), and the new price was EUR 107. I sent them the link for the suitcase. Their experts insisted that the price was EUR 60. It took quite a few emails to actually get them to understand how the internet works and that they could verify the price of my suitcase.

Then the following offers:
Raised to EUR 60
Additional 12% on the 60
Raised to EUR 80
Discount EUR 1.21 (not kidding you)
Additional 12%
Finally, they asked what color of suitcase I wanted and sent the one we discussed, priced at EUR 98.9

Lost value of around EUR 7, and had to go through this insane process.

Very frustrating experience with Eurowings. My flight was delayed multiple times with almost no clear communication. We were left waiting for hours without proper updates or explanations. Poor organization and lack of responsibility. Would not recommend

Flight cancelled with no reason, fighting for refund

Flight cancelled with no reason. Email said they were working on an alternative, they weren’t . Airport help desk said there was no option for another flight. Had to book and pay for two last minute flights. One month later and I’m still fighting for a refund and compensation. Today the most recent reply to my third email with linked receipts etc said “We have reviewed your message but were unable to identify a specific request. To assist you in the best possible way, we kindly ask you to describe your concern again in detail and thoroughly. This will allow us to address your needs specifically and offer an appropriate solution”. Will never ever fly with this airline again.

With the closing of dubai airspace…

With the closing of dubai airspace refunds were issued only for one direction of the flights

They said you're able to "flexibly rebook", yet the "flexible rebook" price is higher than the original price for the flight itself. So they basically just stole the money without giving any option given back.

Sadly this shitty company is the only one with convenient flights to middle east directly from berlin. Guess the benefits of being able to rip off everyone is you get more flights

I’ll start with saying that I use often low budget companies to fly, cuz I fly a lot, so I’m not expecting much. BUT everything this time was more than terrible, (Flying from Austria to Germany)starting by checking in, group one and two could go fast and easy at the self check, at the moment that group 3 had to go as easy and fast it wasn’t possible! Well okay let’s say “rules “ can live with it! Second they hadn’t checked the airplane before departure time but after we were in it and had to almost fly off! Two f**** hours too late because of a scratch on the plane that have been made in Germany so at least couple of hours before departure of my flight and before departure from Germany. Also the unbelievable lack of hygiene on the plane….. I’m really disappointed!!! I have evidence

Never again

Never again! The worst airline, problems all the time. I had two trips booked, today and in April (in a month). Since my April flight (in a month!!!!) didn't go through, they blocked my paid flight today, and I didn’t got on a plane. I spent three hours at the airport trying to get through to the operator, they transferred me from one to another, but they still couldn't solve the problem. The girl at the check-in counter said she didn't understand why the paid flight was blocked, but they couldn't help me either online or offline. I simply didn't fly. And when I asked to change my ticket to another one because my check-in had expired, the next operator said that I simply didn't show up for my flight, and she couldn't help me. I promised myself to fly only with good airlines many times, but unfortunately I bought a direct flight and gave Eurowings a chance. Never again.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY

I would not recommend using this company.
My cabin bag fully met the size requirements stated in their official policy and was accepted without any issue on my outbound flight. However, on my return flight, I was unexpectedly required to pay an additional baggage fee despite the bag complying with the published measurements.
I was travelling with my 74-year-old grandparents for their birthday and the situation caused unnecessary stress and delay while we were boarding. One of my grandparents has mobility issues, and the unexpected gate process made things significantly more difficult for them.
What was particularly frustrating was the inconsistency. Several other passengers with visibly larger bags were allowed to board without being charged, and my bag was not measured in a clear or transparent manner before the fee was applied.
Overall, the policy appeared to be enforced inconsistently, which left me feeling unfairly treated and disappointed with the experience.

Close to death, but no refund

Booked & paid for flight to Dusseldorf earlier this month.
Admitted to hospital with blackouts & cant drive for 6 months, but thats not enough for Eurowings to make a refund. Yes it was a no refund flight. But who thinks they will have heart issues within 72 hours, couldnt drive to the airport, had a heary tracker inserted the day before the flight so wasnt in a fit state.. I presume their no refund policy would still be the same even if I had died.
Never again.

extremely disappointing experience and lack of responsibility.

I booked a round-trip flight from Hamburg to Erbil and also purchased an additional 35 kg checked baggage for the return journey from Erbil to Hamburg. The booking was made over the phone with a Eurowings employee, who confirmed that the extra baggage was correctly registered in the system. I could also see the confirmation on my end.
However, at Hamburg Airport, an employee stopped my uncle and insisted that he had to pay again for the extra baggage for the return flight, claiming it was not visible in the system. This raises serious concerns — if it was supposedly not visible, how was the airport staff aware that the baggage was intended for the return flight? Regardless, he was forced to pay again, as he would not have been allowed to board otherwise. It is important to emphasize that the additional baggage was purchased exclusively for the return trip, not the outbound flight.
On February 10, I contacted Eurowings customer service. The representative acknowledged that the situation seemed unusual, as the system showed that the extra baggage had already been paid for. I was instructed to complete a complaint form, which I did immediately. Despite this, I received no response.
After following up by phone several times, I was repeatedly told to “be patient.” In one call, I was even advised to submit the same form again, despite already waiting nearly a month without any reply. When I requested to speak with someone who could actually assist me, I was refused.
This experience reflects poor communication, lack of accountability, and an unacceptable level of customer service. The error appears to be on their side, yet no responsibility has been taken and no solution has been provided.

Along with Ryanair worst carrier for musicians

Instrument (violin) does not qualify as large hand luggage (that's EasyJet's policy and used to be theirs until a few years ago) nor as a check-in bag but has to be carried on an extra seat. Constant delays (two missed connections in six months) and terrible customer service (badly trained AI assistants) on top. Not recommended, prefer EasyJet and AerLingus whenever possible.

Dangerous lack of training

I flew with Eurowings last night and I am honestly astounded by the danger posed by the cabin crew’s lack of understanding and urgency.

A passenger seated in front of me was clearly distressed before take-off. Her partner approached cabin crew to explain the situation and was quickly sent back to his seat. The passenger was in tears, explaining that an announcement regarding her severe nut allergy should already have been made. Cabin crew said it would be done after take-off.

Because of the delay, the passenger herself had to shout down the aircraft asking people not to open or consume nuts. I then asked other passengers to pass the message down the plane to ensure everyone heard, as her life depended on it.

After take-off — while the seatbelt signs were still on — cabin crew made an announcement about luggage shifting in overhead lockers, which was not urgent. Only after that did they make a polite request that passengers refrain from eating nuts.

This was not treated as a medical emergency. The head cabin attendant later said she “didn’t understand the severity” and compared it to her niece’s nut allergy that “makes her sick.” At no point did anyone apologise for the complete lack of urgency or regard for this passenger’s safety.

Cabin crew must be properly trained to understand severe allergies and how quickly they can become life-threatening. Their attitude and handling of this situation were unacceptable. Someone will get seriously hurt — or worse — if this is how medical risks are treated.

Eurosong worse that Ryanair

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I experienced. Quite frankly, this was worse than Ryanair, and I will now be actively looking for alternative providers.

I paid in advance for both a carry-on bag and a checked bag on a return flight, yet I only needed to check a bag on one leg of the journey. On the return, I was stopped at the gate and told my carry-on was too large and that I had to pay an additional €60 to place it in the hold. However, when I reached the boarding gate, staff then told me there was no issue and that they didn’t have time to put the bag in the hold, so I was instructed to take it onto the plane. This inconsistency is completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, the flight was delayed, and I received a text message after the scheduled departure time while already on the aircraft, telling me about the delay and instructing passengers to check in as normal. This level of disorganisation and poor communication is incredibly frustrating and far below what should be expected from any airline.

Overall, this experience has significantly damaged my confidence in your service And will now seek alternative ways to travel

The worst experience of my life

The worst experience of my life. I would never, under any circumstances, fly with them again. Delays of more than one hour on both connecting flights. Because of them, I missed the third flight, and on top of that they lost my luggage in Finland at -30°C. I had to return to Spain because I literally could not survive without the clothes in my suitcase. I lost a job in Ivalo because of this company.
