Terrible business model
Terrible business model - you shop online in the belief that they have stock to sell but they don't. Everything is ordered in once you have paid your money. I've ordered lenses and film from these guys and every time I do, I regret it. Such a dreadful shopping experience. I ordered some film from the UK, and it arrived as promised two weeks before the film from Georges has even left them, and all the time they keep telling me it is with a supplier in Australia. I'm still waiting for my film.......
They make a big deal in their advertising that they were established in 1981 - I wonder if some people who placed orders then are still waiting for their goods.......

Items not in stock, we tried to get a refund (Items not shipped after a week) and was told If I cancel they'll charge 10% for the privilege of getting my money back.
One of the items will be available next week apparently and the other the week after that...
First and last time purchasing anything from this place.
Never Again... Buyer Beware!!
Will not be using this business again. Sells items that are on backorder without notification on the sites that the items aren't in stock.
Customer service is almost non-existent. Took me chasing them up after 2 weeks to find out my items weren't in stock. Then they finally sent one out of 2 items over a month later, with no notification that the second item wasn't included. I then had to chase them again for the refund of the second item, that took them over a week to process.

Please I urge you to not buy from this shop. They won’t tell you if it’s in stock so you are usually buying something that’s out of stock and waiting months to receive it. Then when you try and call them they won’t even say their name over the phone and will be passive aggressive the minute they pick up. The guy I spoke to knew my order before I even mentioned my name / order issue.
Please read all of the 1 star reviews first - they speak volumes. It’s obvious that many of their 5 stars are bots that they are paying for.

Ordered a product that was "in stock"
Ordered a product that was "in stock", it wasn't. In fact it georges cameras was un able to to supply and offered a substitute, that's fine. Then they try to invoice me extra for the substituted product, and finally to top it off the substituted product they couldn't supply either! What an absolute joke of a company. Take your business elsewhere. Still waiting for my refund.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I purchased a camera and was never notified it was pre order when I purchased it. I emailed to follow up, they then told me it would be about 4 weeks ( end of july ) - it is now september, and I have emailed 3 times in the past 14 days and had no response. I never have left a bad review, but this situation calls for one .

One star is more than they deserve.
Bought an item that claimed to be in stock on their website. They took my money straight away. Weeks later still no item. Email them multiple times asking when I'll receive it: 'it's in the warehouse'. Ask for refund, taking this long is ridiculous, you obviously don't have the item but you have my money. 'Oh it's in the warehouse'. They won't refund or send me the item. Luckily I paid using PayPal who refund me immediately. Order same item from another shop and it's delivered in less than two days. 6+ weeks and nothing useful from Georges. Big fail. Used to have no issues with them so wonder what has gone wrong!!!

Nearly month now and I’ve not received camera lens and accesories!
They promised 1 week turn around, what a joke! I’ve called and emailed multiple times and get the same BS story it is being packed and will be sent in a few days.

No refund for a lost parcel!
I placed an order on 25th January which was only sent on 7th February (the website was showing the item was in stock but it was clearly misleading).
Then my order got lost by Australia Post which I created a case. Now Georges Camera won't return my emails for my refund, I'm furious. Do not recommend at all!
Company appears to be going broke - avoid at all costs!
This company is an absolute joke. Second time I have ordered a product from them that they don't even have despite saying it is 'In Stock' and never receiving it. Made an order on 26/12/23 for a battery that was supposedly in stock.
Was updated on 28/12/23 that I would receive the order within 4-8 business days.
Asked for an update on 6/1/24
Was advised on 8/1/24 that they still didn't even have the item in stock from their supplier and it would be at least another 4-8 business days. Requested a refund as I needed the battery for an event before then.
9/1/24 Received an email from Georges stating the order had been cancelled and I would receive a refund in 5-10 business days. There is absolutely no reason in 2024 why a refund should take 5-10 business days for a refund. Someone was obviously looking at my order to be able to respond to me - a refund should be almost instantaneous.
No refund was issued.
I emailed Georges on 15/1, 24/1 and 3/2 chasing the refund, and received no reply to any of my emails.
Today on 5/2/24 I received an email saying it still wasn't processed but they would let me know when they have done it! Not even an indication of when that would be. Almost a month after the order was cancelled and still no refund - clearly this company is in serious financial trouble. Do yourself a favour and don't buy from them.

This is the 2nd and the last time I order through Georges. their delivery times are abysmal. Once they've got your money, you just have to wait and wait - I start a feature in the morning and I wanted the items here. They're estimated delivery was the 20th of Jan.

I had a really bad experience with a well-known store in Sydney. Even though I chose to buy a new Mirrorless camera from Georges because of their competitive prices, I was disappointed by the unpleasant attitude and lack of willingness to help from their customer service. I don't think I'll be visiting them again unless it's for the price. Also, they claim to have stock available on their website, but when I placed my order, they said it would take a few more days to arrive from the supplier. This was frustrating because I was planning to use the camera for an upcoming event and waiting for the supplier to ship it was not ideal.

Then upgraded to the next more expensive model that they said they have in stock, called back 6 days later, get told we will ship today. First and last time using this store. False advertising no stock no refund
I ordered two clamps and paid for on 23 August as they told me they had stock
It was sold as in stock ships 4-8 day .
3 weeks later one arrives then you tell me you are waiting on stock for the second, promising me you would get back to me ASAP then nothing

Avoid this company at all costs. What the comments are saying about George's Cameras is true. You know it is really sad for us to leave reviews like this. If you want Australians to support the locals, please stop ripping us off. You wonder why we shop online overseas. You complain about the cost of running a business and the lack of customers but I believe you deserve to go out of business if this is how you treat your customers.
