As of 18th October 2018 the 'Message page' has undergone 'maintenance'. Today (19th) I now can't send messages but can read messages received. Ongoing problems since I joined on 8th September include: Unable to view 'Winks' that I have sent, 'Chat' notifications not showing on home page, all message history from 8th - 23rd September has vanished. Ongoing issues too with 'Messages' not loading. No replies from Gaydar support when I raise queries.

Fix this damn website. It is completely unusable.

Gaydar is unrecognisable now from the great, fun, easy to use and popular site it once was. Looks like nobody cares enough to bring it back either. What a pity.

I have just joined gaydar and even decided to pay for VIP status. I have had difficulties from day 1 with the app which has kept shutting down. I can't get into messages on there. Gaydar told me to use the desktop version. Now I'm using the desktop version I still can't use messages. This is simply not good.

Total waste of time... doesn't work at all on Android... messages arriving weeks after been sent, no support. Not renewing my membership

HOWEVER You may find that behind the Scenes the Directors have actually been building up a Competition Website...on the back of their Deliberate Demise of Gaydar...Because they don,t actually own Gaydar.

WHATEVER THE SCENARIO........SOMETHING STINKS!!!

Been a member for 18 years they changed there app and made totally user unfriendly! I then realised my profile had been put in the escort/ commercial section ! I have never been an escort!! I have had to delete the profile now because I could not navigate the app !!! I have contacted them 3 times and they will not answer , I have even tried to look for a contact number but to know surprise I can’t find one !!!

As many others have said, this site used to be the best and broadest, lots of functionality and easy to use
They launched the new version last year and effectively killed it off. It’s so bad, you’d think this was their intention!
When I got in touch to delete my profile (having been a paying member for 15 years), they couldn’t have cared less

Gaydar is now a disaster,no other word for it,which is a shame, the older version of the site was great ,and catered for all, a joy to use ,now it is a shambles,nobody online anymore,they have moved to other better sites.
I myself have moved to Gayromeo,much better user experience there.

IMO the best dating site together with Equalluv.com. Both work much better than lame dating apps. Just my two cents here.

I used the old gaydar happily for many years, allowed a wide array of searching/chatting options, and let your browse into different chat areas easily.

The new mobile interface is truly awful. Don't waste your time using it. What I cannot understand is why they have migrated their web and mobile interface to look identical. It is so badly designed, that it beggars belief.

at the beginning Gaydar WAS great: lots of features for paying members. with every overhaul, perks were being scrapped. the new site, even after the owners tell you that all faults and hiccups have been eradicated is a TOTAL WASTE! i have stopped my subscription (which had been running for at least 8 years) and i have switched over to planetromeo where you get value for money. If anyone is thinking of signing up to gaydar and possibly becoming a paying member: there are better sites on the market, much much better ones.

I have been a member of gaydar for about 15 years. Suddenly last year I logged in and the site had been ruined. I couldn't choose which profiles I wanted to view -- I could only view the ones that came up on the main page -- and most of the profiles I saw were of people who hadn't been online for years. So I have stopped using it. It's such a pity. The profiles used to be detailed and interesting, you could keep a list of favourites, click on their profiles, see who had clicked on yours... All this seems to have gone. There is now just an extremely basic site, and they don't tell you how to use it, or even what the symbols mean. They have also taken off the information about when someone last logged on, so good luck if you message someone who hasn't logged on in a decade. It's very sad. The end of an era.

Now you can’t even see the last message of the person that’s just messaged you. Just take the site down and give up :(( LOSERS

Invested my trust, over £3500 in membership fees and a lot of patience for past downtimes when they ran many incremental and later fatal updates to the service. I and the others, have grown to actually like "old" Gaydar- familiar welcoming easy to use UI, simplistic design, and integration of mobile app with online website services, variety of options for user defined advanced search and excellent live real-time chat- it's most popular future. It was amazing community of crazy, fun, witty, shy or kinky young and old co-existing within the truted, popular well-known and respected brand. It is all gone. New Gaydar either doesn't care for own success or survival, lacks ambition and vision as business and horribly failed as a brand people can trust. Inconsistency and inability to admit the error, to listen to paying subscribers' concerns is not something I am willing to overlook or forget. If you are considering a worthy alternative there are a plenty. Gaydar in this new form has nothing to offer. R.I.P.

total joke! an extinct dinosaur!

Terrible website, the web format is so badly designed and don't even try to edit photos with an android phone, very un-user friendly it took me 20 mins just to discover how to reselect a photo, no help, it's just bad the whole format needs re-designing, this time making it customer friendly, like it used to be...pah!

There are a number of BIG issues with this new site.

They reduced the functionality to:
- Search members for fetishes - FUNCTIONALITY GONE
- Search members for interests - FUNCTIONALITY GONE
- Search for couples/singles/bi etc - FUNCTIONALITY GONE
- Use chatrooms by interests/fetishes/UK county - FUNCTIONALITY GONE. YOU CAN NO LONGER FIND ANY USEFUL OR POPULAR CHATROOMS
- See who is online in your area - FUNCTIONALITY GONE
- Search for who is online - FUNCTIONALITY GONE

Did they reduce the payed membership fees when they stripped out all of this functionality? NO.
Did they offer refunds to payed members when they stripped out all the functionality which the paying members had ALREADY paid for? NO.

The site is now pretty useless.
My advice, don't waste your money on paid gaydar memberships.
My advice to GAYDAR: If you want to save your business, delete this useless new site and restore the old one and offer all paid members 2 months free and guest members a free upgrade to paid for a month. That MIGHT help to restore trust in the site, MIGHT.

Phew, we haven't seen a business destroy itself so effectively since Gerald Ratners brought down Ratners the jeweller by saying his own products were crap. LOL

Total failure
Difficult to navigate and consequently deterring people from using it .
Despite all the negative feedback they seem intent on trying to patch up the new website on its current format .
