Horrible streaming service

Horrible streaming service, absolutely livid they bought out anime lab which was actually a good streaming platform. Can’t even get through 5 minutes of a video before it starts buffering, it’s ridiculous that you have to exit and re-enter an episode to continue it every 3-4 minutes. Save your money.

I have been going back-and-forth…

I have been going back-and-forth through email with Funamation for some time now. About 6 months ago my son lost all his information and no way onto an account I made for for him. So I created him a new account. I kept trying to get a hold of funamation bc I was getting charged multiple times for multiple accounts. and of course they have no phone number and it is hard to contact them. When I finally do, I simply asked to be credited the money from one account to the other account. Nope they gave me a lousy $7 back which did me no good. Because last month they charge my card 4 times, twice for each account. Even after I explained that i need the one canceled and explained the situation. Instead of solving the issue they just kept emailing me back-and-forth like they had no clue what they were doing so they can charge me over and over again I don’t know. What I do know is that I was charged overdraft charges due to this so they’re lousy $7 they sent back to me did me no good. It would have been nice to get a refund for all the months they charged me for the 1 account that i didn’t have access to, because i knew they wouldn’t i simply asked to just be credited the recent transactions to the working account. I feel like they do not care about their customers at all!!

Awful site, I can't believe it's technically not a scam

Awful site. Company doesn't invest anything into improving the site or fixing problems that have been there for years. The queue system is completely broken -actually making it more difficult to keep track of shows. The autoplay rarely works. And you can't even send a message to customer support because if you click the link it gives you an out-of-territory message. I guess support is only offered to some obscure country.
If they didn't lock up so many shows I would never give them another dime. Unfortunately, I have to spend half my watch time just fighting their site.

No help with hacking

My husband had an account and was clearly hacked (shows being watched in Portuguese). His password and email got changed and he sought help from customer service. He got the most juvenile, unprofessional response of "yeah that's what a hacker would say". Thankfully he was able to cancel payment another way. Disgusting customer service. Use crunchyroll instead.

Website constantly buffers and freezes

Website constantly buffers and freezes. Say it freezes for 15 seconds then it skips 15 seconds so you have to review back often. Not impressed compared to its other competitors shame it owns all the dubbed content.

Funimation stole my money and content

Funimation Lag

I dont often write reviews- but please someone fix the lag on funimation. I was subscribed to animelab but am now subscribed to funimation after the transfer.

But funimation is laggy, even with a subscription and I have good internet connection (so it shouldn't be lagging).

Honestly, awful

While I don't have any experience with the customer service, I can confirm that the app is hot garbage and even on a pc the website doesn't run much better. Constantly not displaying shows when you search them, episodes regularly won't play, citing an error, but it gives no options to fix it other than refreshing (which literally never works) and while this is happening other episodes will play with no issue. I would love to cancel my subscription, but unfortunately that's not an option because Funimation has monopolized the English dub side of things.

I'm sad and sorry to say Funimation has lost me

I've spent hundreds of Australian dollars on anime seasons which come with digital copies to be redeemed at Funimation. My purchases don't seem to matter to Funimation as an organisation because I'm STILL having to watch ads so wonder at the point of purchasing anime only for digital PURCHASES to be encumbered by ads which should logically and respectfully be free of advertising which makes it look as though Funimation is double dipping. Also, a number of the very expensive anime seasons exclusively connected to Funimation do not have entire episodes. Several of my seasons only have access, through Funimation on PS4 don't even show up. So, out of twelve shows I have access to, three or four episodes and that's it. My library is inaccessible on both my PS4 AND mobile phone Funimation app and when I finally got through to their help line via email I received an indecipherable message relating to Crunchyroll which had absolutely nothing to do with my enquiry. It's as though the person who replied doesn't speak much English. I truly do not understand how such expensive imports on a platform which should be easy to navigate is not in the least easy to navigate at all and the assistance makes it even more frustrating and aggravating. I certainly won't be purchasing any more anime connected to Funimation I mean, why should anyone pay TWICE like once at the shop counter and a second time to get a Funimation membership. Funimation should offer those who have already purchased anime programs and movies a service which is free of ads otherwise there's no point. I do not recommend this company to anyone. It's a shocker and has put me off digital for life.

You'll be incredibly lucky if you manage to get through a single episode without the player needing to be refreshed, dropping to abysmal quality, or just freezing up entirely.

A streaming service that can't consistently stream for just 25 minutes? Funimation can't even provide the one service they offer.

Funimation player is very poor

Funimation player is very poor, compared to any other streaming site I have ever used it has more stutters, buffering, less features in terms of user reviews and ratings and comments on videos; and is overall a very poor competitor A) To Crunchyroll and B) to any other anime streaming alternatives out there.

coming from AnimeLab (AUS) the UI is so horrble and annoying to use, nothing is clearly organisedz or seems to have an order to it. and i have no idea why they didnt just update the Animelab website to say "Funimation Aus" and kept it the way it was. pretty muched turned me off of watching anything from animelab/funimation.

feel pretty bad for anyone else who loved and subbed to animelab, feels like such a waste of money to still be subbed now that these guys have taken over and force us to use their crappy website.

Horrendous Customer service!!!

So lets start by saying I liked their Service. That is as long as your account doesn't get hacked. I had their service for years and then my account got hacked. I caught it then changed my password. The next time it happened the hacker changed my email and password on me. That was when I contacted them for help. It took them 4 days to get back to me. I answered all their questions and they eventually found my account with my credit card attached to it. Now let me tell you that i have had this happen on other streaming services and it was resolved within minutes and haven't had this happen again on the other service. But NOT here. They refused to revert my email so that i can reset my account even though i had proof that it was mine and they saw that my credit card was attached and was paying for it still. On top of that they charged me again 2 days later. All they said was "we can cancel your account and you can open a new one". I have hundreds of shows that i watch and have been watching. You try to remember all of them and where you left off. It would have been so easy to fix but instead they lost a customer. I hope none of you ever have to deal with them on this topic. Good luck!

It's consistently awful, but often the only legal source for the episodes without buying all shows individually.

such an awful app

such an awful app. Awful website. Awful playstation app. the library of content is great, but getting it to play is so much hassle. I am constantly told that the episode I am trying to watch is only for premium subscribers (sidenote, I am a subscriber) it makes marathonning shows very difficult when between every episode I need to restartmy browser or turn my device off and on over and over until funimation gets its act together. i would give them 0 stars if that were an option. its borderline unusable.
