Educational and Helpful

It was very easy to follow through the steps plus informative on how to do and then finish by getting it notarized. Very helpful when I can't afford a lawyer.

Absolutely the Best Website for Wills!!

Absolutely the best website for doing your Will!! (Believe me, I searched forever.)
Making a Will is daunting but necessary. Everyone should have one regardless of what they think they possess.
The website is user-friendly, concise, and informative. You can keep it simple or customize the Will. Options to leave a particular item or % of money to whomever. Options to have backup recipients or Executors. It even has an area where one can leave specific messages to people.
When you are done, save it and read it thoroughly!!
It is lengthy when printing it up, but the legal jumbo jumbo is necessary. Again, read the Will, and information about witnesses needed, etc, and signing with a blue ink pen in particular. Don't sign it unless you have your witnesses who can sign at the same time.
**Get the Will and other documents Notarized!!!!! Your bank likely has a Notary to use for free, or ask around; it doesn't cost much if you need to pay for the service. Probate Court is as scary as you hear it is. Make it easier for the people you care for to distribute your stuff.
The website also has other forms to use, such as a Financial Power of Attorney and Health Directive.
Proofread, proofread!! And remember to use formal names of yourself and others involved. Did I mention.... proofread!
Seriously, this is the best site EVER!
Have a look and tell me I'm wrong.
I'm not.
You're welcome. :-)

After I had nearly completed my WILL

After I had nearly completed my WILL, they EMAILED A VERSION TO ME, AND CONTACTED THE PEOPLE I PLANNED TO DONATE TO, TELLING THEM THEY COULD EXPECT A SIZABLE DONATION, UPON MY DEATH. THEY OPENLY EXPOSED ALL MY VERY PRIVATE PERSONAL INFORMATION, AND MADE BENIFICIARIES AWARE OF SOMETHING THAT I MAY CHOOSE TO CHANGE IN THE COMING YEARS. THEY HAD NO RESPECT FOR MY PRIVACY OR THE RIGHT TO CONTACT THOSE WHO MIGHT BENEFIT UPON MY DEATH. YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM, THEIR COMPANY, IF THEY DO SUCH TERRIBLE THINGS WITH INFORMATION THAT IS PRIVATE. I VERY STRONGLY URGE PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY. THE PRICE IS CHEAP AND I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WAS CHEAP FOR THE WAY THEY HANDLED MY INFORMATION. I WOULD RATHER PAY AN ATTORNEY, WHO WILL RESPECT MY PRIVACY AND KNOWS WHAT CONFIDENTIALITY MEANS!!!!!!

Hello Sue,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the frustration you've experienced using FreeWill's estate planning tool.

To clarify, FreeWill takes our users' privacy very seriously. When a user chooses to include a charitable bequest in their will, our software includes an optional step asking whether they would like to notify the charity of their planned gift, or prefer for their gift to remain anonymous. This notification is only sent if you actively select this option—it is never done automatically or without your authorization.

One reason we include this question is that when donors choose to share their contact information, it provides the beneficiary organization an opportunity to express its gratitude for the support. However, we apologize for any confusion and for what we understand was an unwelcome surprise to receive an acknowledgment from this organization.

If you'd like to discuss this further or have any questions about your account, please reach out to our dedicated support team at help@freewill.com and they will be happy to help.

Thank you,
Jenny Xia Spradling
