I had a terrible experience working with Fortress and Kevin MacKenzie. Kevin engaged me after an Industry Convention. He made a bunch of promises, signed me up for 2 years of tax service and entity creation, then left me to hang. Took forever to get my first return filed, was riddled with errors, took over a month to get errors fixed. I incurred penalties and interest; Kevin said he would call and have them handled, or pay for them himself if they couldn't be adjusted. Never made any calls, never made the entity, never filed the next year's returns. Every time I called he acted overly sincere, asking about my family and assuring me everything was ok, just to continue ghosting me. Eventually he told me if he did not have things fixed by a certain date that he would refund me everything. Well that date came around and Kevin will no longer answer my calls or call me back. I have attempted calling other people at the firm with no success. Unfortunately, after my experience, I began hearing similar experiences from others that worked with Kevin. I absolutely recommend not working with Fortress, Kevin MacKenzie or Tyler Ballein.
