Technogym Vario Excite 1000

I recently purchased a Technogym Vario Excite from FitKit, it was absolutely immaculate and in perfect working order! However......I made a terrible mistake by not selecting the installation service, I naively thought that 5 of us would be able to lift it where it needed to go- we could not even get it off the pallet. I called and spoke to Helen who not only didn't make me feel like a wally she was incredibly reassuring and managed to jiggle things around so the installation team could put the vario where it needed to go. They were friendly, polite and so efficient! I cannot fault the professional way that my order was dealt with from start to finish!

Excellent service from start to finish

Excellent service from start to finish. I wanted a precor cross trainer but needed to check stride length as I'm only 5ft 2inches. Helen arranged an appointment for me to visit the warehouse where the 2 machines I was interested in were set up and ready for me to try. Had the appointment with Luke who then arranged for a payment link to be sent to me so I could complete the purchase. Cross trainer delivered and installed once the machine had been cleaned and serviced. Delivery guys ensured it was delivered to exactly where I needed it and it was tried and tested there and then. Great communication from company. First class service all the way through. Would highly recommend.

Ordered a cross trainer. Great experience cannot recomment more

I ordered a Life Fitness Cross trainer that arrived securely wrapped on a pallet perfectly on time. There was a small issue where one part of the power adapter was missing. I contacted Helen their office manager and they sent one out a day later no issues. The machine was serviced and works perfectly. The best in the business …

My review starts with the customer services, superb! I had a problem with my order, the issue was the royal mails fault but all communication went through Fitkit, cannot fault them, they took a few days to get back to me but they are a small run company so give them time and they will reply, fixed my issues without any hassle, now the product, I’m running a 5km everyday for the month of march for charity so I bought this product to help my sore muscles, the shower cooling wash is superb, really helps and the body cream really soothes aching muscles, I would highly recommend FITKIT and will definitely order again, 5 stars

I don’t know why people go anywhere…

I don’t know why people go anywhere else, they have top qaulity ranges of Precor, lifefitness, cybex, all is as new condition, as any other new kit you buy elsewhere depreciates virtually 50% when it’s delivered, all these gyms that open up with massive loans just to call in brand new, and wonder why they close in a few years, Fit kits equipment holds its value so well, we have been in the gym business 40 years now, and every one is trying to reinvent the wheel…the members come to a gym mainly because of the equipment, so “stick to the well trodden path”…buy what the members want, not what you want and as much as you can with minimal loans, these guys are good! Service, delivery, installation, if you cannot see what it is they do, then your to stupid to know the difference.

Shoulder press with install

Bought a shoulder press and paid extra for install due to weight. They came armed with two large sheets of hardboard to negotiate the lawn, uphill to gym. Excellent work. All went smoothly and easily. Very happy.

Dreadful customer service, very rude, sarcastic and dismissive and no ownership of errors. Website incorrectly advertised items as new and ex-commercial, battered old equipment sent when new was purchased. Shocking Company, customer service a whole experience. 0/10

PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE - DO NOT BUY REFURBISHED EQUIPMENT FROM THIS COMPANY
I purchased a refurbished Precor TRM 885 Treadmill from this company which cost me £1695. We used it all of 10 times over a 3 month period before it produced a fault code and stopped working. I have since contacted customer support who diagnosed the fault over the phone to save the £170 call out fee, only to say that the machine was too old to get parts for and that they couldn’t help me unless I found a second hand part myself. I have now found the part which cost £450 and have also been advised that there is no guarantee that this will fix it.
So in summary I have a worthless machine that is less than 12 months old and is uneconomical to repair.
I have calculated that each run cost me £169.
If just one person reads this and avoids making the same mistake then it will have been worth writing this review.
Go and buy a £700 new Nordic Track Machine instead with a 2-5 year warrenty!

Thank you for your review. While we respect everyone’s right to share their experience, we do feel it’s important to correct several inaccuracies, as the way this has been presented gives a somewhat misleading impression to other readers.

You purchased the refurbished Precor TRM 885 treadmill in December 2024, not within the last three months as implied. The wording of your review suggests the machine failed shortly after purchase, when in reality you contacted us over a year later to raise an issue.

You have also stated the treadmill was used only around ten times and then left unused for an extended period. Unfortunately, mechanical equipment that sits idle for long periods can seize or deteriorate — this is not unusual and is why we recommend annual servicing, much like a car, to keep equipment operating as intended.

All refurbished machines are fully serviced and tested by our engineers prior to dispatch and supplied with a 3-month warranty. In your case, had you contacted us with any issue during that warranty period — the same period you state the machine was in use — an engineer would have attended to resolve the issue at no cost. Contacting us over a year later understandably places the machine well outside of any warranty coverage, meaning any investigation or repair would be chargeable.

Despite this, we made several attempts to help minimise your costs. Rather than insisting on a paid diagnostic call-out (which we were fully entitled to do), we asked you to send a video of the fault so one of our engineers could review and attempt to diagnose the issue remotely — saving you the call-out fee entirely. This was offered purely as a goodwill gesture and was something you were more than happy to proceed with at the time.

As with many industries — phones, cars, electronics — newer models are released and older ones are eventually phased out along with certain parts. Unfortunately, this is the case with your treadmill. Even so, we went a step further and suggested you source the required part yourself to avoid any markup from us, leaving only the cost of fitting should you not wish to do it yourself. We felt this was a fair and reasonable approach, though it appears this effort has been overlooked.

Purchasing refurbished equipment always carries some risk in terms of longevity, but we are confident we acted fairly, transparently, and supportively throughout — including well beyond any warranty obligations.

We genuinely wish you well with your NordicTrack machine. If there is one takeaway for other readers, it would be to report any issues within the warranty period, rather than a year later, so they can be addressed promptly and without dispute.
