For this price, I'd like more features and customization

Why doesn't Filepicker allow me to upload multiple photos at a time?

____________

Filepicker is one of my most expensive API/service providers. For the money they charge, I think they will have to improve the UI design, offer more design flexibility, remove their branding entirely, and increase the number of files that each tier offers.

Otherwise, I will probably find another option, or build something, to access Facebook and Instagram photos.

Insanely simple and reach with features

I'm using Filepicker for a couple of years now and it saved me a ton of time both on my client's projects as well as my own projects. It's simple and easy to integrate, there's almost no feature missing.

In some cases may seem a bit expensive, for example when having a lot of users or/and large files.

Poor cropping options and urls.

Our main issue has been using the images, the cropping api is a poor substitute for having control over your own images.
Poor mobile experience.
It would also be useful to have full control over the url that is given out on the links (even if it just says not file picker).

Great transition for implementing own S3 upload

Filepicker is a nice tool for uploading files - we use it to upload to amazon S3. For now i am really happy with using filepicker but there are two minor flaws and one show stopper (specific for our B2B customers) which let us change to an own implementation.
The first flaw is that i can not use S3 in frankfurt because of filepicker not supporting the AWS Signature Version 4. The second is the poor interface for uploading from Google drive - it is hard to navigate to your files.
What really causes the pain for leaving is rather a problem of our customers. The bigger companies we are working with are blocking filepicker within their proxies.
Overall we are still satisfied =)

Great Service, simple API

My experience with filepicker was really great. I took off one star only because I didn't like having to go through customer service to downgrade my account (whereas I could upgrade it automatically). Very minor issue -- wish I could only take off 1/2 star. Overall great service, nice people, simple setup, and flawless in the execution. Thanks!

Works but not maintained

File picker was/is a great idea, but ever since buying it from the original team, you have dropped the ball -- documentation is shiitake and updates are few. You can make this the best file picking product, and instead u r keeping it in the state it was two years ago. Only a matter of when a better product is created

Great Tool & Time Saver

Filepicker was a great way for us to let our users leverage their photos on other social accounts they have, but also, provide a very simple way to upload content to our CDN.

Also, it saved TONS of time to not have to write all of this code ourselves.

Great service, but it cost me $1200 additional to set up API correctly

Good product, and great documentation. Unfortunately, with my backbone app, Filepicker API did not work well and was not saving the image correctly. I had to hire a developer to get the issue resolved by creating a image processor on my own server rather than how Filepicker was processing my images and replacing old images with the newest upload. I tried getting support, but no solid solution was found immediately.

New Customers, But All Good So Far

As relatively new users of Filepicker, we haven't had a huge number of interactions so far.

I do feel that the security features could be simplified, and there are a good few features that I hope might be added over time. More code samples would be good, because the integration is actually quite simple once you figure out how.

But I can say that Filepicker has solved a significant issue for us in working with files, and the few times we had questions we received relatively timely support.

I would recommend Filepicker.

worth every penny

integration was simple, easy for us to implement and easy for our customers to use.
also, very cost effective, for the price I could not hire a developer to maintain all of the functionality it offers.

Great potential, needs some fleshing out

The acquisition aspects of filepicker are great, and my team is happy about the speed with which I was able to allow our users to incorporate Instagram and their ilk. However, I've had slow response from service, often taking several days to get a response since it had to go to the engineers (seems there's a breakdown in that process). The file service and conversions functions are still too limited. I don't mind having to securely sign my API calls, but having to sign query string file conversions is... odd. Cloudinary got around it with their preset system, and better permission management. As is, I'll likely have to use filepicker to send to s3, then have cloudinary grab the s3 links, which is hardly an efficient methodology and involves 3 services just to display images.

Reliable product, but is changing their pricing model towards something we don't need.

We signed up to use InkFilePicker for the picture uploading and storing and it works amazingly! Unfortunately when I last looked to increase our plan with them it appears they have modeled their prices to be more inline with their File uploading competitors. We don't need the cost and overhead of a full file uploading client. We just want to continue utilizing your awesome picture uploading plugin.

Bad Billing Practices and non-existing customer support

- Not a big fan of the product. I rejected an upsell option and a month later i see my account is being charged twice. I was originally given a lower price plan when i joined and i was told i'd be grandfathered into that plan. However, Filepicker started charging me for the price changes even for much older billing periods when the price was low.

- When i tried to cancel the service, they right away removed access to the files previously uploaded.
