I am giving 5 stars becasue my agent Aaron Kerkhof was veryy k owledgeable, professional and attentive. My complaints are these.. 1) I was not given the full amt of LOC which I was first led to believe, 2) i had to pay for a second appraisal...which you were obviously hoping would be lower, but which was considerably higher...so, I had to pay for a 2nd appraisal which I did not order or desire and which was not used for my loan. 3) there was alot of wasted time in underwriting. Thank you.

This company delays loans resulting increases to the quoted interest rate and charges several more fees at closing through various unsavory methods.

To avoid admitting the truth and discussions the factual issues above, the company responds by misleading the public and claiming that they cannot discuss loan information in a public forum. However, the truth is that company can respond, but the above facts are undeniable.
Sending the company emails and letters via fax, text, or certified mail will provide a paper trail for investigators to utilize for prosecution.

Legal action is being pursued against this company. You may be able to be part of a class action complaint.

The representative was excellent, so helpful and attentive, kept us appraised in a timely manner. Unfortunately the loan we received was not the loan we applied for, due to the Fed raising the interest rates right in the middle of our application process. But the company did salvage something for us - others were not so lucky - and we are, if not happy, at least content.

Jason Chambers at Fare Reverse is a reverse mortgage specialist who did the impossible! He enabled my elderly mother to stay in her own home and avoid the heartbreak of being placed in a memory care facility. She has 24/7 care which is prohibitively expensive. I really had no place to turn until a mortgage broker gave me Jason's name.

During our initial phone conversation, Jason explained in detail what a reverse mortgage is, exactly how it worked and dispelled my fears. He was endlessly patient every step of the way--from loan application to closing. He laid out exactly what I needed to do and was ALWAYS available, by phone or email. Now my mother's home is taking care of her--and she can afford to "age in place." I had been told the Jason Chambers is "the best in the business." And he is. Ten stars.

It's a long and complicated process but it helps when you have a great loan officer like we did to guide you through, answer all your questions and keep you updated.

Be aware this will take many months. For me 6mths and I had many problems along the way with people giving me inaccurate information at the time of signing. I wasn't even allowed to see what I signed or given a copy by the notary. No one even told me money for my property tax would be taken out for 10 years after my loan ended...20 years in total. Taking such a large chunk makes what I get to use a lot less. This hopefully will be resolved but it should have been communicated before I signed the documents,

I do think the loan itself is a fair and wise thing to do it's just how it is executed and communicated.

Application process went about as smooth as one could have hoped for with a few hiccups along the way mainly documentation requirements but, were worked out in a timely manner with the help of Josh Whitson my acct. rep. Closing was ez peasy and fund distribution moved quickly from there..one thing I always appreciated was keeping me in the loop,informed, and appreciated...

We had a great experience working with Jason at Finance of America. We contacted several agents regarding establishing a reverse mortgage. We felt most comfortable with Jason. He was very much available (even on the 4th of July) and was very accommodating and clear in hos explanations. It was a pleasure working with him.

Monica, my agent was terrific. The local assessor seemed slow and caused some delay, but in the end, I was pleased.

The entire process was very smooth with the help of Richard Martin. I was kept informed as to what to expect and what would take place. It was truly a stress free experience and I would recommend Finance of America without a doubt. Thank you so much for the opportunity.

We were very impressed with the process. The communication and professionalism were excellent. We have to give credos to Taylor Williams who performed at a 5 Star level.

Katie May was excellent. My father died during the process while I was supposed to be scheduling the appraisal and she gave me time to deal with that. If she had bugged me, I would have just cancelled my application. Instead she was patient and yet kept on top of the timeline so that I didn't lose my rate lock. In short, she was just perfect and handled everything very well. I would happily do business with her again.
