Taking Legal Action After Shocking Exoeriance

Title: FINAL WARNING – 10+ Year Customer Taking Legal Action After Shocking Experience
I have been a loyal customer of Xclusive Trips (now operating as TravelaYouLike) for over 10 years. Unfortunately, my recent Egypt booking (TTAS-0042528) has been the worst travel experience I have ever had, and I am now preparing legal action due to their complete failure to resolve the matter.
Upon arrival at 3:45 PM, there was no airport transfer arranged. No driver details were provided, and despite multiple calls costing me £40, no proper assistance or callback was given. I was eventually informed the driver had taken another job and would not be coming. With four young children and a disabled family member, we were left stranded and forced to arrange our own taxi at an additional £55.
The hotel situation was equally unacceptable. We paid for two rooms but were initially offered a single partitioned room with one bathroom for six people. One room provided had a strong fresh paint smell, clearly unsafe and unsuitable. Only after repeated complaints were we moved, but still not to proper standard.
Food and service were extremely poor. There was very limited variety, repetitive meals, and even basic hospitality was lacking. My young daughter was refused a second small ice cream, which was both upsetting and embarrassing. On another occasion, I personally witnessed staff hiding fresh food for themselves while serving cold, old food to guests. Only after confronting them did they provide fresh food. The manager later apologized, confirming the mishandling.
To make matters worse, we experienced a full day without water in our room. This created serious hygiene issues for six people and added significant distress to an already unacceptable situation.
Despite raising all issues formally while still at the hotel, the only response I received was the following generic email:
“Dear Customer,
We do apologize for the inconvenience caused. We have forwarded your complaint to your suppliers. Normally it takes 28 business days to get a response. We shall keep you posted once we hear from them.
We have mailed your return transfer voucher for tomorrow.
Regards, Customer Support”
Since then, there has been no meaningful follow-up. Attempts to contact them by phone are now ignored, and calls are being cut off. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable.
This booking is protected under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, and the failures listed above represent a clear breach of contract.
I have now issued a FINAL Letter Before Action seeking £1,850, including refund, expenses, and compensation. If this is not resolved within 48 hours, I will proceed with legal action without further notice.
After more than a decade of loyalty, this is how customers are treated.
Avoid Xclusive Trips / TravelaYouLike at all costs. This company can no longer be trusted.

Scamming old people

Absolutely disgusted with Exclusive trips. They took advantage of my elderly grandmother by charging her exorbitant fees and refusing to cancel her account without additional charges(another £400). The customer service representative was incredibly rude and dismissive, only interested in taking more money. This company's predatory practices are absolutely shameful and should not be tolerated. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with them to think twice.

Perfect!

I spontaneously booked a holiday for my partner and I using this company. Afterwards, I decided to read reviews on them which i probably should have done first but never mind!
Some reviews were concerning, but things were straight forward for us and overall everything was very easy and simple. The only thing was we were first quoted £606, then on the phone call it had gone up to £858, and the final price we had was £956. Quite a jump, but we didn't question it as it was still over all a good deal.
The whole holiday, flights, transfer and luggage were as stated. I literally can not fault anything, and would use this company again.
Don't be put off by the reviews.

Exclusive Trips exceeded our expectations in every way. This is the most stress-free vacation we've ever had, and we owe it all to the fantastic team at Exclusive Trips. We'll definitely be booking with them again!

Make sure the price is correct before you even think of paying I'm glad I did

I have just tried to book a holiday with this company for 5 of us.
3 single rooms and 1 double. I got 1 price on live chat. Then when I rang for more information the put the 3 single rooms up by 60.00 each.
And trying to get double room was like trying to get gold off them.
I'm not happy at all by such a price increase in a matter of minutes.
The excuse was it was a different company they were dealing with.

After an unexplained flight…

After an unexplained flight cancellation from EasyJet Rio from exclusive trips went over and beyond to amend our holiday at no cost. He was helpful beyond our expectations and we cannot thank him enough for making this horrible experience much easier. Thankyou Rio!

If there was a zero star rating then I…

If there was a zero star rating then I would have chose that option.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
SCAM ARTISTS!!!!
We booked a trip with them and got miss sold our holiday. The pictures they used were of a different hotel completely. The information given for the hotel was wrong!!!
Please don’t waste your money using this company.

The hotel says it was a 3* for like a 1* the staff was very arrogant and hardly spoke English the room was absolutely disgusting when we arrived we had to eat out every night even tho was meant to be all inclusive absolutely disgusting full of grease dripping out of the pudding

Very helpful fully Abta and atol protection.. very easy, help with a couple of queries that I had.. but… the price I saw and was happy with was not the final price.. the agent put me through to a “supervisor” after I had paid my money that I was happy with.. and then the supervisor said I had to pay a tax for the airline and hotel which was another £500 for 6 of us… this was not explained to me by the original agent.. why I asked.. no real response, other than to say the agent cannot do that.. felt I was trapped and this was underhand, and as I had just paid over to the nearly £4000 I had no choice. This all should have been in the open right from the get go… really bad to lead people on … need this sorted asap
