Good equipment, and enough to handle large crowds but it can get very busy.
Though, someone needs to be in control of playlists there, the music is genuinely jarring and a hard listen - you need Airpods if you want even an ounce of motivation
Everyone Active puts women at SERIOUS risk
This company intentionally puts women and girls at risk.
Today I went swimming then went to use the showers and found a MAN on his knees, bending right down in between 2 cubicles to clean the guttering. There were women in the cubicles either side showering right next to him.
THIS IS NOT OK!!! These showers should have been closed for cleaning if there is a male cleaner bending right down so he can easily look up at women or girls wearing no clothes.
I also witnessed another woman saying she didn't want to go in the showers with the male cleaner there as she did not feel safe.
There is another issue that the swimming changing room doors have big gaps underneath them and that the space is shared with men. This is also not OK.
Everyone Active: You need to protect women and girls. Currently you are doing absolutely NOTHING to safeguard them which in this day and age is an absolute disgrace.
Beware parking fine!
Beware! If dropping off or collecting for parties. The parking lot is not part of the leisure centre and you may receive £100 fine. All Sunbury Leisure Centre say is that they do not own the parking so there is nothing they can do.
When they quote their fees
When they quote their fees, get it in writing as they charge and take more money than is verbally quoted. They also charge £25 for set up admin fee. Scandalous!
Since i started coming to hillsbrough…
Since i started coming to hillsbrough baths i have enjoyed it the classes i do are really good. It has helped me with my mental health which i suffer really bad with. The staff are amazing always making sure everything is ok and always there to listen to you if there is any problems you have with the centre.
The centres pool viewing area and surround needs cleaninf
The centres pool is I great need of a deep clean - the coring area looks as if it has never been cleaned and certainly not maintained regularly. Because of the lack of cleaning some of the glass supports have rusted etc
All started off well as joining was easy.
All started off well as joining was easy and the booking staff friendly, helpful and polite, but sadly I had to cancel the membership, which I did within the 14day cooling off period as it was an unwanted gift for a family member.
I received a confirmation email on 29th June saying a member of their team will review my request for a refund of money paid by visa upfront £59.99 and they would be in touch shortly. But I've heard nothing and cannot reply to their email as says it's 'no reply'. Worried. Julie
Charged 3 times the amount and no way of contacting
They have no way of contacting them.
They have a "General Enquires" but no one ever replies.
Their physical centre can do nothing to help with memberships or payments.
I've been requesting to cancel my membership and fix some payment issues for 1 month - I have tried contacting head office, their social medias and the centre so many times. This month, I have just been charged 3 times the amount I should have been and yet I still do not have an answer/solution.
I have tried my local centre again who seem to know even less than me - I feel sorry for them that they do not know how to help me but this is also incredibly frutrating.
I've tried contacting my bank but because Everyone Active's General Enquiry system doesn't share a copy of the message you send them, my bank claim that I don't have evidence.
Be careful and avoid signing up with Everyone Active.
Gym locker broken into today and my…
Gym locker broken into today and my husbands iPhone 14 taken. Fortunately car keys not taken. 3 lockers broken into. Reported to staff who said they will speak to higher ups. They do not have cctv near the lockers so absolutely no help. Has been reported to the police and hopefully insurance might cover will find out Monday.
Shocked as this must be a member or someone has slipped in for this purpose. They had plenty of time - one of the lockers was prised bent . HEADS UP. Take care.
The WORST customer service ever
The WORST customer service ever. They take an upfront payment of the last month to avoid you canceling their membership, which means when you want to cancel their membership, if you already paid for the next month fee, it will be valid till the next month after that. It's impossible for them to issue a refund even though I'm canceling because of their frequent closure of the facility. They use auto reply to cope your complaint and had no sympathy.
Incredibly rude member of staff.
Toks Macaulay - quite possibly the rudest person I’ve ever come across in my life. Anxiously venturing into the gym for the first time, she called me “clueless” and belittled me, I left feeling small, pathetic and like I shouldn’t even bother trying. It made an anxious situation even worse. We all start somewhere - she seems to have forgotten that and gains her strength and power not from the weights she lifts, but from making people feel small and embarrassed.
Very disappointed with how I was…
Very disappointed with how I was treated today. Another customer physically pushed me in the family changing area after moving my belongings, despite me explaining I had only stepped away for seconds to collect my autistic son from his swimming lesson. Instead of dealing with the assault appropriately, the duty manager dismissed my concerns, focused on the changing room policy, failed to take anyone's details or properly investigate, and allowed the other customer to leave without apologising. I left feeling completely unsupported and deeply upset. I expected much better from the management team.
Staff who'd rather be elsewhere
Pools themselves are fine but the staff attitude is pretty grim. No instinct or desire for good customer service at all - the staff behind the desk don't take the initiative to keep the queue moving and will wander off instead and even management seem to be incapable of proactively managing situations that have gone awry. We were part of a group today that had booked months ago; we arrived to discover that booking was logged on the system for a completely different time which caused disruption and inconvenience to several people. Management were not remotely apologetic nor proactive in offering solutions to mitigate the fact that families now had to hang around for an hour with nothing to do - one of our group organisers asked if we could use the small pool as it was empty and that was grudgingly agreed to but really that ought to have been proactively offered (Ideally alongside some complimentary snacks for children who now needed to be out of the house unexpectedly right into their dinnertimes).
Later on I was in the toilets when a lifeguard came in to check them. She literally pushed open the unoccupied cubicle doors, barely glanced inside them and left again. She didn't even look at the sinks which were filthy. If that's the standard of a toilet check, it's no surprise that the changing rooms smell of stale urine.
Oh, and there was a pigeon flying around inside the building. No attempt was made to try and get it out. Not the best for hygiene (or the pigeon's welfare).
Overall the impression is of staff who really don't give a stuff about doing a good job or the customer experience. It's such a pity.
Don’t even like giving this shit place…
Don’t even like giving this shit place 1 star.
No manage is available to talk and my daughter is been missing 3 lessons of swimming they haven’t even got back to me in regards to the change of her stage
Frustrating !!!!
No actual tuition.
My first lesson I was quite nervous and the instructor was not very friendly or welcoming. I felt really out of place.
I had no idea what to expect and what to do. There was people of varying abilities. Some with noodles some swimming unaided.
There was Zero instruction you are expected to get in the pool and have a go yourself.
After I questioned this expressing that I expected swimming lessons to be lessons on swimming not a have a go, which you could do at any pool for regular entrance fee.
I was then mocked by the instructor to other swimmers when she thought i wasn’t in earshot, she then backtracked when she say i wasn’t next to her.
After I said my child had also attended lessons and i thought we’d be taught how to swim and have some structure to the lesson She was telling other swimmers how we aren’t kids so not going to be taught how the kids are. I don’t expect to be taught like a child but i expected and paid to be ‘taught’
I persevered for a few weeks and learnt nothing and was told to breathe out of my nose and mouth at the same time under water. No wonder I struggled as it’s pretty impossible.
If you want to learn to swim I do not recommend. If you want to practice swimming with none to basic tuition then this is what you will get.
I met another beginner swimmer there who was told she was the only one that couldn’t swim at all. This knocked her confidence too. I saw her a few weeks later and she had also left.
Really disappointed, as an adult weak swimmer it does take a lot of courage to take the step to go and take lessons. I felt very discouraged and ripped off
The description needs to be clearer that you don’t actually get taught to swim
Sayed was very accommodating and…
Sayed was very accommodating and treated us with a lot of respect.
excellent range of equipment; terrible air-conditioning
Excellent range of equipment, but ever since the gym was upgraded 3 years ago, it is cold in winter and hot in the summer - despite numerous attemots to improve matters.
The fault lies with a the heat pump -which was installed at the time of the upgrade 3 years ago - elswhere in the leisure centre, which uses conventional air conditioning, things are fine
Modern with good facilities
Good location, well equipped facility, plenty of parking, pleasant helpful staff
