My dissatisfaction is mainly with the lack of clear communication, transparency and follow-through.
My husband attended the dealership and dealt with these matters on my behalf. He repeatedly requested complete information about a manufacturer campaign recorded against our vehicle. On several occasions, he was assured that the information would be sent by email, but nothing was received.
After raising the matter again in person, he was given a printout containing only one sentence stating that a campaign had been completed. The document did not identify the vehicle, provide the exact completion date, explain the fault or work performed, include a job-card reference, or clarify whether it was a safety recall or a product-quality campaign. It also did not confirm whether it was connected to another applicable UK recall or whether any campaigns remained outstanding.
I am not alleging that the campaign was not completed. My concern is that the documentation provided was insufficient to verify what had been completed on our vehicle, despite several reasonable requests.
I am also concerned about a recent visit for a service, MOT and investigation of an air-conditioning fault. We paid for an air-conditioning regas, and the invoice stated that everything had been rechecked. However, immediately after collecting the vehicle, the heater stopped producing warm air. No heating fault had existed or been reported before the visit.
A return appointment has been arranged, which I appreciate. However, I expect the fault to be investigated as a follow-up to the previous work, without an additional diagnostic charge. I also expect the cause and any corrective work to be properly documented.
I also purchased a new service plan. The service mileages listed in the plan appear significantly higher than would be expected from the vehicle’s current mileage and recorded annual-mileage estimate. My husband requested an explanation and an itemised comparison but was told that the charges could not be recalculated.
These may be theoretical manufacturer service thresholds rather than predicted mileages, but this should have been clearly explained when the plan was sold. I would also like confirmation of what each service includes, particularly whether any listed replacement parts include both the part and its fitting.
To restore my confidence, I would like:
1. Vehicle-specific written information about all applicable recalls or manufacturer campaigns.
2. A properly documented, no-charge investigation of the heater failure.
3. A clear explanation of the new service plan’s schedule, inclusions, cancellation terms and refund terms.
I would like to resolve these matters reasonably with Evans Halshaw. However, the repeated promises without receiving the requested information, combined with the inadequate documentation provided, have made the experience unnecessarily frustrating and reduced my confidence in the service received.

Went to Evans Halshaw Renault in Sunderland after a difficult time with another dealer & with a baby arriving in the next few days.
Sheldon sorted us out with a good car, quickly, without fuss. He really understood what we wanted and listened. He was transparent about everything and the car fits our needs at a reasonable price. We’d happily buy there again.

Purchased a Ford Ranger from this garage all my paper work was headed Renault. paid £27490 px my bmw for £26500 (now up for sale near £29995)paid for extended warranty £1225 and full service plan.
picked car up 27th of June 26 and less than 60 miles then engine warning light came on (it was advertised as having had multi point check and only 16k on the clock)
Dealer said ok to drive as light only amber??
too k back following week in the meantime chatting to the garage said take for a long drive as might be DPF due to low miles also an intermittent beeping noise
Garage fixed it said it was the DPF and now resolved beeping noise maybe caused from previous owner having a tracker fitted
drove away and again within an hour engine light back on and beeping noise?
Service team said its safe to drive they will come back to me
fast forward 16th July and many many calls to ask what was happening with the car salesman said we are buying car back as needs new DPF and they will not pay for it and their ford garage who supplied the car won't??? they knew this on the 14th July why not call then?
Returned car 18th July the General Manager Neil Milnthorp emailed me to say he had deducted £400 for mileage done at 40p per mile? I was never informed of this whilst they asked me to go on long drives to clear the exhaust and he refused to repay me the fee to remove the private plate. £80
They refused to refund any money until V5 was back from the DVLA (not my fault I had to remove the plate)
I logged a complaint with them via their complaints process.
I write this on the 24th July 3.51pm still awaiting (scandalous) refund no car since it was returned and they cannot guarantee the £28700 will be in my bank today and if not I wait til Monday
Neil's email stated he will close the complaint as they all go to him (not impartial!!!!) he said best agree the settlement and I quote "if you are still upset over a last few hundred pounds" Arrogance beyond belief how does he know someone's financial circumstances and if only a few hundred pounds to him (£480) then pay it?
No mention of 4 weeks of stress and as we speak day 7 without a refund even though he promised it would be in my bank on an email dated 21st if I sign the papers which I did and I have had no further emails from him just me chasing for my money
I am using the ombudsman to try recover the £480 but even then the general manager in his e mail suggested I will lose again arrogance beyond belief
make your own choice with this dealer the very poor customer service I received I would not wish on anyone
They should have on first repair given me courtesy car fixed the car road test it and they would see the light come back on and I could have just got my bmw back

Whilst the parts for my car were unavailable for 5 months which is a disgrace THIS WAS NOT THE FAULT OF EVANS HALSHAW.
The staff I came in contact with were always so sympathetic to my frustration waiting for parts from RENAULT who should be ashamed of being a so called motor manufacturer.
Again I stress that this was not the fault of EVANS HALSHAW.

Incredibly unhappy. Penny pinching service department and the new Dacia is essentially defective after 2 months - with little support from the garage to rectify the problems.
The parking sensors keep going off on the motor way while driving on a straight road, The lane assist keeps trying to veer me into lanes with oncoming traffic and the back logo on my Dacia is already sliding half way down my boot - and even though there is an 8 year warranty - the garage refused to fix it, because the 'Sales Department Budget won't pay for it'....

Always someone on the end of the phone, answering queries and offering advice. On visiting the showroom, the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The girl at the desk who took care of my service day was super friendly, and kept me informed throughout the day, and gave clear information when I saw her again on collection.
