I echo all the sentiments already stated - Avoid at all costs.

I don't know how they are allowed to sell insurance. We had a wedding and flights cancelled due to COVID but nil is covered apparently. Similar to Ryanair, they make it really easy to get money from you but very hard/impossible to get it back. Never again - AVOID AT ALL COST

Booked to go on holiday at the end of may this is the insurance company we are with obviously we won’t be able to go because of covid19, I’ve seen a lot of bad comments that they have no interest in helping or refunding has anyone reported this to trading standards or the financial ombudsman ?

Flight cancelled (covid), impossible to return home. Not interested and will not extend policy. Shocking service. No insurance now and i cannot obian any as difficult to extend. Trip must start in the home country.

All i am offered is a refund.

I had to cancel my flight as the event was cancelled because of COVID-19. In the insurance policy, they said they cover administrative reasons for cancellation but evidently not good enough reason! I am furious! Europ Assistance is doing business together with Brussels Airlines so if one is crappy what can you expect from the other? Hope, they go bankrupt for stealing money from people when there is one time when they are supposed to help!

This is horrible, nothing is covered. Our flight was canceled due to COVID and it's not cover because it's pandemic.
We are running out of our daily pills and it's not covered either.
The doctor's appointments are though WhatsApp messages, you can't even talk to the "doctor"

They don't pick up phone. Flight got cancelled. I can't even get hold of them. As if I don't have Any insurance

This is the automatic insurance provided by Opodo. DO NOT BUY. I tried to claim for a cancelled flight and they simply said they don’t cover pandemics, but this isn5 mentioned anywhere in the terms and conditions. If you need travel insurance (when this is all over) use a company like Holiday Safe who are excellent.

Awful, I tried to make a claim when a festival was cancelled during the covid outbreak. I received a blanket response about a week later saying they don’t cover pandemics.

My 83 yr old father bought a travel insurance at a high premium (around 5% premium of the cost he paid for the flight, then he got so sick that he couldn't travel, stayed at a hospital, etc. and all this was confirmed by the hospital and his GP and still they didn't pay anything at all. Even after my lawyer contacted Europ Assistance they still rejected.This is so very ridiculous.
This seems to be their business model.

I bought a Travel Insurance for my Mother & Father to insure their trip to Italy while booking a flight with Ryanair. The trip was canceled & refunded by Ryanair due to COVID-19 Travel Restriction. Europe Assistance, on the other hand, makes a profit on their insurance premium to insure a trip that never happened in the first place. Long story short Europe Assistance is making an actual profit out of COVID-19 Situation... Shame on them.

Rubbish, wanted my husband to fly back to the uk when there’s no flights from Lanzarote. He’s had pneumonia and isn’t fit to fly, but they don’t seem bothered. No way are we risking him getting COVID 19!

We bought Europ Assistance Travel Insurance Policy through the Opodo.co.uk website who deal with this fraudulent company. We had to cancel our flights due to British Government Foreign (FCO) advice who advised against travel for for British Nationals to and from Madina due to flight cancellations and restrictions from Saudi Authorities . They failed to pay out for flight cancellation which put us at tremendous loss. We will never do business with this Insurance company again and advise others against using them as they are dishonest.

One of the worst insurance agencies. The link to their website is on the official Schengen website but they don't meet some of the requirements. My visa application was delayed due to this and they told me to contact Europ Assistance to make changes to my policy ASAP. When I contacted them to change the policy by calling them, I found out they only accept calls for claims-which I am happy I won't have to deal with in emergencies anymore. The only other way to make changes to the policy is to write them an email (through their own website) which they never reply. Wasted my $22, please don't fall to this scam.

They lie. They literally state the opposite of what you have written in your policy documentation and don't care when you point it out. I booked through Opodo and got these clowns. Avoid them at all costs. If I could upload the proof I would

Avoid, they will give you the run around then just deny your claim. Get private travel insurance instead. You have been warned.
